Hale Kamaluhia (Hawaiian for House of Serenity), is our tropical retreat on the West coast of Molokai. This desirable second floor condo has vaulted ceilings which adds to the feeling of openness and is in one of the few buildings in the resort that have an unobstructed view of Papohaku Beach (One of the longest white sand beach in Hawaii, and it is usually empty). Because we live on Molokai we personally manage and maintain the condo. We are in the unit before and after each guest to make sure everything is clean and in good working order and we are also just a quick phone call to address and maintenance issues, answer any questions you may have about Molokai, our unit, current weather conditions, best places to go, how to travel here, etc.
Hale Kamaluhia is a passion of ours and we want our guests to feel like they are coming to a cherished family retreat. We have tried to provide most of what you might need except for food and clothing. For your convenience we have provided beach chairs, beach towels, beach umbrella, a small cooler, small beverage cooler, snorkel gear, tennis rackets, and binoculars for whale watching in the Winter months. You will find our kitchen fully stocked with starter coffee, tea, spices, olive oil & vinegar, rice etc.
Rental cars are very expensive and sometimes hard to acquire on Molokai, which is why we offer one you can rent with the unit at a reasonable rate. We handle the car rental through TURO as they validate drivers for us and provide insurance. If you rent one of our vehicles and select airport pickup/drop off, we will be at the airport when you arrive to hand you the keys and answer any last minute questions. Currently we have a Jeep or CRV for $59 a day and 2 Nissan Versa's for $46 a day (depending on availability). All of our vehicles are clean and well maintained and about 1/3 - 1/2 of the prices of the rental cars at the airport.
