Did I say "perfect location!"? If you enjoy walking to explore new venues, this is your place. The French Quarter, Vieux Carre, is a little more than one mile away. The pathway through romantic Coliseum Square Park is just across the street. You can walk through the magnificent oaks and enjoy the lighted fountain in the evening as you return home.

For DESTINATION WEDDINGS; we are located 1-7 blocks from "Felicity Church", "Il Mercato", and "Race and Religious", all popular destination wedding venues.

The famous WWII Museum, reporting the most tourist visits of any city site, is an easy eight blocks away and is a must see.

Magazine street, just around the corner from the residence, is famous for it's unique shopping and numerous restaurants with Vietnamese, Italian, Carribean, Mediterranean, Cuban, and Mexican restaurants to mention a few.

If you're wanting to use city transit, the historic streetcar is on St Charles Avenue just 4 blocks away, or you can hop aboard the city bus across the street from the property. All points of interest are easy to get to. We are an American Paris.

The largest Mardi Gras Parades all pass on St Charles Avenue, and the 4 block walk provides a quiet retreat from the noise and crowds when needed. Again, 'perfect location.'

The large front yard and swing provide plenty of opportunity for star gazing or just listening to and enjoying the sites and sounds of the city. We often view our famous "second line" parades, celebrating the bride and groom, as they pass in front of the property.

There is a private patio entrance just ,outside the front door with plenty of space and table and chairs for outdoor meals or cocktails.

The bedroom is spacious with a very comfy queen sized bed and room for a cot or two. The living/dining area has a queen sized sleeper and plenty of room for eating and relaxing.

There is a fully stocked kitchen for those who want to cook and sometimes a breakfast surprise or two in the refrigerator. Outside the kitchen door are a washer and dryer convenient for your use.

Linens and pillows are plentiful, and there are soft throws for snuggling up to read the available books (including a New Orleans collection), or watching TV. Cable and Wi Fi are included. Places minutes away by streetcar, bus, walking or bicycling include; Audubon Park and Zoo, The Aquarium of the Americas, The Insectarium, Warehouse/Arts District, WWII Museum, the Convention Center, Mardi Gras World, several museums, and, of course, the French Quarter with Jackson Square and the St Louis Cathedral.

Don't be surprised to see a horse and buggy on the street as you enjoy coffee or tea (provided!) in the morning. There are numerous tours of the Lower Garden District, including cemetery and ghost tours!

About Jeanne and Mike

My husband and I truly enjoy this business and consider it a labor of love. The house, built in the early 20th century, is charming and typical New Orleans. We live in the unit above, so this is home, and we give it lots of TLC. We were married in the beautiful front yard (the picture above). Those who have stayed here truly appreciated the personal attention available to them. We love this city...

For the price, the unit is surprisingly spacious, and very well appointed. Mike and I encourage communication (texting, calling us, and emails) in order to make sure we have what you need.

What makes this apartment unique

Off street parking (a big bonus in NOLA neighborhoods), and the use of the beautiful yard and patio as additional living area while here. Excellent accommodations for those attending weddings at Il Mercato (ilmercatoevents.com), Felicity Church (felicitychurch.com), and Race and Religious (raceandreligious.com), all within walking distance.

Great location, great accomodation

We (group of 5 old friends) stayed 4 nights and loved it. We relaxed outside in the beautiful garden in between our sightseeing and nightlife,. The accomodation is spacious and well stocked so a group of friends or a family can just chill out. Great place!

GREAT place to stay while in New Orleans

We have been to NOLA several times and this was by far one of the most convenient places we have stayed. Getting around was so easy, bus pick up right across the street and the streetcar was an easy walk to St. Charles Avenue. Lots of local eateries nearby.

The unit was a perfect size for two people. Jean and Mike were so accommodating and friendly.

Location, Location, Location

We parked our car (in a super-convenient off-street space) and did not move it for three days. Instead, we walked to a concert at the Superdome, a visit to the WWII Museum, and restaurants and bars. We had lots of space to relax when we were not on the streets of New Orleans - with a big, big bedroom and bathroom. Jeanne and Mike were super helpful with all of our questions. We will be back.

Excellent place to stay

Well thought out, accurately described space with all you need for a short or longer stay in New Orleans as well as off street parking.

The location is ideal for using the very inexpensive public transport as buses and trams are close by. (one and four blocks) The neighbourhood appeared save to us and we were able to walk to local bars and restaurants in the evenings without any concerns. Also on foot we enjoyed exploring both the Garden District and Magazine Street which still has a lovely mix of locally owned eclectic shops

Finally, the hosts Jeanne & Mike who live in the unit above the rental are welcoming and most hospitable and clearly care for their guests.

Fantastic Location, Beautiful Property!

We have stayed at multiple rentals around the country and this was one of our very favorites. Mike and Jeanne were the ultimate hosts, so charming and accommodating. When you are in an unfamiliar city, to have hosts that make you feel like family, makes your visit feel effortless.

The property itself was fantastic. Spotlessly clean, comfortable, beautifully decorated and had all the amenities you needed.

The location in the Garden District was beautiful and a breeze to get everywhere you want to go. The neighborhood was so historic and an absolute delight to view. The street car is a five minute walk away on Charles St, and we took Uber rides to the French Quarter for less than $7. There was a great coffee shop (Hivolt) a great restaurant (The Munch Factory) just down the street, if you don’t feel like making a trek any further away.

Very highly recommended.
