Did I say "perfect location!"? If you enjoy walking to explore new venues, this is your place. The French Quarter, Vieux Carre, is approximately one mile. The pathway through romantic Coliseum Square Park is just across the street. You can walk through the magnificent oaks and enjoy the lighted fountain in the evening as you return home.

The famous WWII Museum, reporting the most tourist visits of any city site, is an easy eight blocks away and is a must see.

Magazine street, just around the corner from the residence, is famous for unique shopping and numerous restaurants with Vietnamese, Italian, Carribean, Mediterranean, and Mexican restaurants to mention only a few.

If you're wanting to use city transit, the historic streetcar is on St Charles Avenue just 4 blocks away, or you can take the city bus across the street from the property. All points of interest are easy to get to. We are an American Paris.

The largest Mardi Gras Parades all pass on St Charles Avenue, and the 4 block walk provides a quiet retreat from the noise and crowds when needed. Again, 'perfect location.'

The large front yard and swing provide plenty of opportunity for star gazing or just listening to and enjoying the sites and sounds of the city.

There is a private patio entrance just outside the front door and plenty of space and a place for outdoor meals, cocktails, or breakfast and watching the sun rise.

The bedroom is spacious with a very comfy queen sized bed and room for a cot or two. The living/dining area has a queen sized sleeper and plenty of room for eating and relaxing.

There is a fully stocked kitchen for those who want to cook and sometimes a breakfast surprise or two in the refrigerator. Outside the kitchen door are a washer and dryer conveniently available for your use.

Linens and pillows are plentiful, and there are soft throws for snuggling up to read the available books (including a New Orleans collection), or watching TV. Cable and Wi Fi are included. Places minutes away by streetcar, bus, walking or bicycling include Audubon Park and Zoo, The Aquarium of the Americas, Warehouse/Arts District, WWII Museum, the Convention Center, Mardi Gras World, the Insectarium, several museums, and, of course, the French Quarter with Jackson Square and the St Louis Cathedral.

Don't be surprised to see a horse and buggy on the street as you enjoy coffee or tea (provided!) in the morning. There are numerous tours of the Lower Garden District, including cemetery and ghost tours!

Free off-street parking is on site.

Check in time: 3:00 p.m., Check out time: 11:00 a.m.

About Jeanne and Mike

My husband and I truly enjoy this business and consider it a labor of love. The house, built in 1920, is charming and typical New Orleans. We live in the unit above, so this is home, and we give it lots of TLC. We were married in the beautiful front yard (the picture above). Those who have stayed truly appreciate the personal attention available to them while staying. We love this city...

Why Jeanne and Mike chose Garden District

For the price, the unit is surprisingly spacious, and very well appointed. Mike and I encourage communication (texting, calling us, and emails) in order to make sure we have what you need.

What makes this apartment unique

Off street parking (a big bonus in NOLA neighborhoods), and the use of the beautiful yard and patio as additional living area while here.

Lovely ambiance in awesome location

  • 5 of 5

My mom, sister and I stayed here the week before Christmas. We had a delightful stay. The apartment is in an awesome location halfway between and easy access to both the French Quarter and the Garden District. Best of all, it's only a block from a fun stretch of Magazine filled with diverse restaurants and shops. St. Charles Avenue (and its streetcar) is very close as well . A bus stops directly across the street. The apartment was furnished exactly as described and was quite a bit larger than it appeared in the photos. There is a queen bed in bedroom, a queen pullout couch in living room and a very narrow cot if needed (best for a child). It was handy having a parking spot. Jeanne was very responsive to any queries and left us yummy pastries a couple of times during our stay. If I make it back to New Orleans, I would definitely return here.

Great location. Clean, comfortable and cute

  • 5 of 5

My family and I were in NOLA for a wedding and vacation. My husband and I, with our three kids. Accommodations were great, very cute and very comfortable. It was also very well stocked, even had spare toothbrushes, which was great because teen son forgot his:) We were able to Uber to all the hot spots for less than $10. They have a parking spot in the driveway, which was great because we parked our suburban and didn't worry about it. They were very helpful leading up to visit and were available during our visit.

Location was so convenient and their home was so lovely. And did I say clean?!?! Immaculate! It was perfect, we will definitely book again and recommend to friends.

Thanks for a great time.

Great Hosts! We enjoyed everything about the stay and the area. I would highly recommend their place to anyone. Without a doubt 5+ on everything, they take pride in making their place a great experience. They were right there if you had any questions at any time. Their place made our visit to NOLA the best. Property was Awesome!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first trip to New Orleans. Heard some scare stories before we went but we walked everywhere and had a great time. The trolley line is the way to go. Enjoyed music on Frenchman St., the WW II museum, & a cemetery tour. Had great meals at many different places, all good. And , of course, beignets at Café DuMonde.

Jeanne & Mike, our hosts, could not have been nicer. I will recommend them to all our friends. They invited us to their home & made us breakfast and then Mike drove us to the airport! Can't say enough good things about them.
