Private cabin with a beautiful view

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed every moment at the Sparrows Nest, from waking to the views of the mountains to sunset dinners on the deck and watching the wild turkeys to relaxing under the stars in the hot tub. Perfect cabin for couples or a family with a little one or two. Yes it doesn't have wifi but who need wifi with that beauty around you, great place to unplug and unwind. It is a rough road as they stated (after a time or two it isn't so bad) but you won't get those views by staying on the main roads. Can't wait to return to the Sparrow's Nest.

What a wonderful peaceful mountain vacation!

  • 5 of 5

I'm sad that I'm writing this review as it means our vacation as come to an end. The Sparrows Nest Cabin was exactly my husband and I were looking for when we planned a short getaway to the Smoky Mountains. The location was prefect, tucked away in the mountains yet an easy drive to food and attractions. The cabin was quaint, prefect for 2 people. It was cleaned and had all the amenities we needed. The deck is the best part with it's amazing views. We saw wild turkeys several times. If you plan on using the hot tub, turn the heat up as soon as you get there as it takes awhile to warm up but feels so good once is ready! The hot tub was super clean, we enjoyed it ever evening. My husband thought the bed was too hard but I didn't mind it. The neighbors have goats, chickens and a dog. Although we didn't mind it, the barking and rooster crowing could be annoying to others who are not used to it. Just reminded us of home. I would recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a relaxing mountain retreat.

Great Stay once again

  • 5 of 5

This is the second year we stayed here and my kids are asking when are we going back? They absolutely love it. The wrap around porch and the covered porch adds another room for you to enjoy. We loved sitting out on the covered porch while it rained. We watched the storm come over the mountain and the sun to follow. Gorgeous! We enjoyed the hot tub under the stars. Cabin was very clean, both inside and out. We ate every meal outside. My youngest loved watching the wild turkeys in the yard every morning. Peaceful and beautiful location, and very close to the National Park entrance at Cosby. Great trails and not overcrowded like some of the other towns. Quite and beautiful spot of the Smokies, yet close enough to DollyWood and other attractions. Will definitely go back next summer.

Everything that glistens Ain't Gold.

  • 2 of 5

My Wife and I stayed there for our 1st Anniversary. It was cheap and we were on a budget. It had a nice view of the mountains and a hot tub which we was enjoyable every night. We also were able to see about 8 to 10 Turkey every day. Our 2nd night at the cabin my wife killed a roach in the kitchen, we never saw another one but it was enough to say we're not staying here again. I told my wife, "It was cheap for a reason." The Bed was big but hard, they said the had an Iron and board they don't, and the some of the buttons on the DISH remote don't work. They also want you to wash the dishes before leaving which I kinda understand but there was some dirty dishes in the cabinets. We should not have wash the dishes before we could use them. Then we were looking for toilet paper and there was 1 and a half rolls for us to stay 5 nights we had to go and buy our own.

Fishing trip

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at Sparrow's Nest for a week with my dad, while on a fishing trip to Douglas Lake. Perfect cabin for the two of us. Grilled every night and ate all our meals on the outside covered porch. Peaceful and beautiful. After dinner enjoyed the hot tub. The stars were amazing. Every morning wild turkey walked through the yard. Very close to the National Park which made it easy to go on a few beautiful hikes. Cosby Nature trail was a favorite.

Awesome Cabin

  • 5 of 5

Just came back from spending a week at Sparrow's Nest with my grandkids ages 2,4, and 8. We loved staying in this Tennessee mountain cabin. It had all the amenities and comforts of home. Every morning, we enjoyed breakfast on the porch. The kids would play and enjoy the hot tub. My time on the porch was spent relaxing, rocking and taking in the mountain views. The location was excellent-quiet and peaceful away from the tourist but close enough to enjoy the area attractions. Just a minute away was The Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The kids loved picnicking, hiking and wading in the Park's creeks. Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Dollywood are close by. We drove to Knoxville and spent a day at the zoo. My grandkids call it their Tennessee home. We will be back; hopefully soon. I think it would be an ideal place for couples and honeymooners as well.
