Overview

About the property

2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 5

A 2-bedroom cabin with a spectacular view of the Great Smoky Mountains, Woodshed is a delight to come home to after an action-packed day. Not only are the surroundings stunning and serene, but the cabin itself is a haven of calm and comfort. Every element of the home, from the outdoor hot tub to the deck rockers to the wood-burning fireplace, encourages relaxation.

Located in Gatlinburg’s private Cobbly Nob neighborhood—itself set within a 1,000-acre resort—Woodshed has a back deck that stretches the width of the house and looks out over dense woodlands toward the Smoky Mountains. Enjoy your morning coffee while kicking back on one of the rocking chairs; you’ll be in laid-back vacation mode before you know it! Cook kabobs or fresh-caught trout on the charcoal grill—the fresh mountain air is an ideal seasoning—and then savor your meal out on the deck too, at the roomy patio table. And luxuriate in the outdoor hot tub while wrens and swallows serenade you in the daytime or owls and whip-poor-wills sing you a lullaby at night.

You don’t have to be on the deck to revel in the beauty surrounding Woodshed. The living room’s wall of picture windows floods the room with sunlight and lets you gaze out at the mountains even as you stretch out on the oversized leather sectional sofa. The sofa is, in fact, large enough for the whole group to sprawl out for movie night—the living room has a TV with cable and a DVD player. In summer the ceiling fan will add a welcome breeze, while in winter the stacked-stone fireplace will bring a warm glow.

When you don’t want to dine on the deck, you can all gather around the indoor dining table, which seats 6. Likewise, you’re not limited to cooking on the charcoal grill. The kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, cookware, tableware, and even a dishwasher.

Woodshed has 2 bedrooms, one on the main floor and the other in the loft above, a layout that provides welcome privacy if you’re vacationing with another couple. The main-floor bedroom, located by a full bathroom, has a king-size bed, a TV, and a ceiling fan to lull you to sleep. The upstairs master bedroom features a king-size bed, a TV, and an en-suite bathroom that includes not only a shower but also a jetted tub—just the thing after a day of hiking or biking the trails of the nearby Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The bathroom also has access to the upper-level balcony; enjoy a romantic glass of wine under the stars before turning in for the night.

As well as the opportunity for romance, the cabin offers numerous amenities, including a washer and dryer (here’s a chance to return from vacation with a suitcase full of clean clothes!), free WiFi, a carport that accommodates 2 vehicles, and parking spaces for another 2. And did we mention that Woodshed is pet-friendly? Well, it is!

Another of Woodshed’s amenities is off-site: free access to Cobbly Nob’s 3 pool areas in the summer. What’s more, at the foot of the resort is the award-winning Bent Creek golf course, designed by legendary golfer Gary Player.

Just slightly farther afield are the restaurants, shops, and amusements of downtown Gatlinburg; the Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts Loop, an 8-mile trail of more than 100 galleries, studios, and craft shops offering everything from stained glass to chainsaw art; and Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area.

No matter how you spend your days, you’ll relish returning to the pleasures of Woodshed. Experience its calm and beauty for yourself: Make your reservation today!

It was not super clean. There was dust and bugs on the window wall. The dishes didn’t seem very clean we had to wash before using. not sure if that is because the dishwasher doesn’t clean well

Location, Location, Location!

  • 4 of 5

It’s the location that makes this a great cabin. The view is amazing! Woodshed has a panoramic, unobstructed view of the Smoky Mountains. We enjoyed the open floor plan and vaulted ceiling on the main level, with floor to ceiling windows across the back of the cabin looking out over the mountains. They let in a lot of natural sunlight. I’d also add the hot tub was very nice. The interior is a little dated, but that shouldn’t stop someone from staying here unless they expect the Ritz. We had trouble with both toilets. Downstairs the chain was broken in the tank when we arrived. Upstairs the handle had to be jiggled or the toilet would continue to run, after being flushed. This is very minor and not a compliant, it can be easily fixed. The only suggestion I’d make is to add a pillow top to the bed(s). The cabin has 2 very nice king size beds, but the mattresses are very firm. As someone that has had 3 back surgeries, firm is good, but too firm is almost as uncomfortable as too soft. Overall, we would stay here again for the view and serenity the location offers.

We are sorry that you encountered issues with the toilets during your stay. We do have a 24/7 on call service department that would have been happy to take care of this during your stay. Again, thank you for sharing and we look forward to having you stay with us again.

all cookware was old, scratched, window blinds missing parts, could not turn on the water and it was impossible to call maintenance service, they just put the call on hold or hang on me.

We loved the cabin!

  • 5 of 5

Large cabin with vaulted ceilings, a great deck and fabulous views. Our teenage son loved having his private suite upstairs with his own deck. We enjoyed the family room with a large sectional downstairs. Beds were comfortable. There were plenty of towels and blankets available. Appliances looked old but they worked fine which is all that mattered to us. The cabin is about 30 minutes from Gatlinburg proper, and about 10 minutes to the 3 pools available to guests.
