With great proximity to Winter Park’s ski slopes, this studio condo offers ski-in and ski-out access with superb facilities within the Iron Horse Resort complex. Those same mountains, once the snow has melted, provide for hiking and biking trails for the rest of the year. Nestled against the western slope of the Continental Divide, Iron Horse Resort at Winter Park is just a short 90 minute drive from Denver, leaving I70 for US40, and avoiding the Eisenhower/Johnson Memorial Tunnels.

Access to the ski slopes from the condo is very easy and places you onto the Corridor ski trail. This provides a gentle ski descent into Winter Park Village and to the Zephyr Express lift. Winter Park’s 3,078 acres of endless possibilities are available to explore. There are 143 designated trails with 25 high-speed lifts accessing to nearly all types of terrain and 1,212 acres of off-piste terrain including Vasquez Cirque and glade skiing. For skiing back to the Iron Horse Resort access is from the Mary Jane complex and onto the top of the Corridor ski trail.

Alternatively to skiing down the Corridor, this studio condo is ideally situated if you wish to catch the ski bus into Winter Park Village. Just a short walk and one flight of stairs down, to be outside in front of the bus stop and also the onsite ski shop. To return from Winter Park the ski bus drops you back to the same spot and Iron Horse Resort is the first stop on the route. In the evenings you can take the shuttle into Winter Park for a wide range of Restaurants, a Movie Theater, Bowling and shopping.

The studio condo can sleep up to four adults comfortably, with a Murphy bed that swings down from the wall and (by reputation) the most comfortable sofa bed in the complex (although this is subject to personal preference).

Included in the condo: fresh linen and towels are provided; the kitchen comprises of a fridge, microwave, oven, dishwasher, coffee brewer, toaster, cooking utensils and cutlery. Recently installed is a new 50 inch Smart TV and the condo has WIFI. The bathroom has a full bath and shower over the tub.

Amongst the facilities parking is available in the underground parking lot with trolleys for transporting luggage easily by the elevator up to the condo. The complex has a “swim-in / swim out” swimming pool, which is comfortably warm all year round. There are two large hot tubs as well as a steam room and a fitness center – if all that skiing and mountain biking was not enough exercise! Pool towels are available outside the fitness center.

Further amenities include a seasonal Restaurant and on-site massages can be arranged. The front desk is manned in season to 10pm but late check-in and entry after this time can be guaranteed.

Now for the official stuff: Rates are listed below, and added for each stay there is a single $65 cleaning charge. If you would like more than one full clean of the condo, including linen change during your stay, this can be arranged for $65 per clean. The condo is non-smoking and we reserve the right to charge $250 for smoking in the condo including smoking on the balcony. For any damages or missing items we also reserve the right to charge for replacement. Whilst we love animals, guests are not allowed to bring pets into the complex.

Five star for my needs, a little dated.

Hey, I love the Iron Horse, and this unit was no exception. The rates are usually very good, and the hill access is fantastic! The property is a little older, and that may shy some people off, but everything in the unit works and the unit is clean. The lobby is quiet and well appointed in a rustic style. The hot tubs are right out the door of the building - so we don't have to put on and take off warm clothes to get to the tubs. My only wish is that some method could be worked out so that we could stay in the garage for the day of checkout - but even that is no big deal as the pay lot at the cabriolet right up the hill is only $5 on a weekday. Thanks for a great weekend stay!

Perfect location!!!

This stay is the perfect getaway from the daily busyness of life. A perfect little square to walk around and try different restaurants, but not too far to drive up to Hot Springs as well. Room was nice and clean and was great to come back to after a long day of being in the snow.

Nice place, good location, missing some small things

Overall, great location and good for the price. The unit was clean, quiet, and tiny but really just enough space if you are just eating and sleeping there. Nice to have a warm gas fireplace, HDTV and cable, but could use an upgrade to some of the old appliances and provide some extra small items, like a tea kettle for heating water. Nice little (warm) pool and two outdoor hot tubs with powerful jets.

We are working through upgrading items (the carpet was less than two weeks old when you stayed) and are looking to get a new range in by the end of this year. The Keurig coffee maker has a hot water function so you can get up to a 16 oz mug of just hot water at a time if you wished. The pool is the largest in the valley and whilst not huge is deeper and as large as most hotel swimming pools. I am glad you you enjoyed your stay and I hope you will return again sometime.

Perfect layout.

This condo has an amazing layout. Great use of a small space. Very cozy. The only thing was the appliances were very old. A new oven/stove top and microwave would make this the best place. We enjoyed our time. Thanks so much.

Why Robert Hatton chose Winter Park

We had rented at Iron Horse Resort in Winter Park several times. Having skied and explored other Colorado ski resorts we just could not find any that beat the amenities provided at the Iron Horse. We have only scratched the surface with everything that can be offered in the area. Beyond the winter skiing activities, in the spring and summer the mountains are truly beautiful. Winter Park offers summer Mountain Biking and downhill mountain biking where the ski lifts are adapted to take your bike up the mountains for exciting riding back down. Even coming for one night and spending a day or two here is so relaxing and re-energizing.

What makes this studio unique

The ambiance of the area is great. The stunning mountains that surround and change with the light are magical to behold. In the evenings you can go outside and with little light pollution gaze up to a huge array of stars. The resort has all the amenities I could wish for. The kids enjoy the pool and the adults can soak in the hot tub or sweat out in the steam room.

Winter Park is located at the southern end of the Fraser Valley. As well as the extensive skiing in the winter, in the spring and summer, Winter Park is known for mountain biking, concerts, hiking and fishing.
