If you are adventurous or a nature lover, the area immediately outside the Phoenix Valley or about a 1 hr drive from the condo, within and at the base of the mountain ranges, provides amazing scenery, challenging driving (e.g. the wild Apache Trail) and wildlife (e.g. Canyon Lake). The condo can serve as a great "home-base" when taking these 1-2 day trips, while at other times, the condo will feel just like home and provide you with a different kind of enjoyment on those days you want to do nothing, where you can just relax by the pool.
The closest major intersection and within walking distance from the condo, is North Hayden Rd at Indian School Rd.; there you will find a grocery store (Basha's), a bank machine (Chase), a pharmacy (Walgreens) and a gas station (Circle K). There are also several major car rental agencies located within a 5 minute drive from the condo, on both Hayden Rd and Scottsdale Rd.
Old Town Scottsdale:
Drop by the famous Rusty Spur Saloon for a cold beer or a meal and great country music; it was awarded Best Country Bar in the Phoenix Valley. Or stop by the Scottsdale Farmers Market held every Saturday, for a wide selection of freshly baked specialty breads, fresh meats, fresh produce, all locally grown and many foods unique to Arizona.
Take a horse drawn carriage tour or a free Scottsdale trolley, to see the sights. Experience the Art Walks held in the district every Thursday evening, where the Artists are on hand to answer questions and share their works with you, while enjoying a complimentary glass of wine.
Not feeling like walking back to the condo, or driving at all after enjoying an evening or night out? No problem: just hail a free golf cart taxi to take you back to your condo, until 2am (tips are appreciated and encouraged).

My husband and I stayed here for the month of March 2016. We enjoyed the location, the pool, the furnishings, the tv, and the neighbours.
Deric was easy to deal with and the unit had everything we needed.
We'll be back. N
wife and I stayed 2 months ,Jan and Feb .The unit was as described,no let downs.Tastefully decorated, clean and extremely Quiet! The welcome basket was a nice touch also.Parking very close to unit, very easy stairs. The grounds around the pool area were very nice. The best thing of all to us was the patio faces south and by 8:30 am the sun comes around and warms the patio till 5 at nite. The pool is 85 every day and the hot tub 104.Most people work there, so the pool is almost empty and quiet, weight room is clean and functional and both very close ,as are mail boxes ,to condo.Unit is located very close to downtown Scottsdale and Old Scottsdale, library, civic center, per.arts, baseball diamonds, golf, bike paths, bars, restaurants ,gas stations, malls, movies ,casinos ,air port, etc.Owners are very easy to deal with.We have read other positive reviews and agree with them as well on this unit.Last year we stayed at a Dell Web community on the far west side of Phoenix, this unit is much more convenient due to its fabulous location to all things in the valley.Would recommend this place to anybody looking to escape the winter
My husband & I spent 2 wks. @ this relaxing condo, overlooking the pool & spa & well-manicured grounds. Great place for walking around the neighborhood, & close to Old Town Scottsdale (1 mile) where you can shop @ specialty shops, Farmers' Market (Saturdays), & dine @ a choice of restaurants, then take the complimentary trolley ride back to the condo for a swim or sit on the double swing, on the private balcony & watch the stars. The professionally-decorated spacious interior provided us with lots of great sleeps in the King bed with a Stearns & Foster mattress, no less. And we enjoyed some quiet moments
relaxing in the double Lazy-Boy loveseat watching the big screen, or taking a nap on the sofa.
We enjoyed fine dining @ the Salt Cellar(15 min. away), a 90 min. tour of Frank Lloyd Wright's winter home(about 25 min. away) & a day driving the Apache Trail, which included switchbacks, seeing old mining towns, & visiting Roosevelt Dam. At the end of the trail we came upon Canyon Lake, & took a 90 min. cruise on a paddle-wheeler amongst breath-taking in-your-face mountains with glimpses of mountain goats, bald eagles & longhorn sheep. Drove back to a restaurant we had passed a mile or so back, called Tortilla Flats, for an excellent Mexican dinner. We arrived back to Phoenix in time to watch just an amazing sunset!
We plan to go back this fall, & would recommend staying here - the owners were so helpful in suggesting what we might enjoy, & the unit was very clean, with brand new furnishings & had everything we had expected, & more!
