Seamist Escape / 2 Bedroom Ocean front Condominium

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,100 sq. ft.
Property type condo
Minimum Stay 4 - 10 nights

About the property

2 Bedroom 2 Bath Oceanfront condominium

Thank you for inquiring about our Seamist Escape Unit 8 at the Islander Condominiums in Avon, NC.

At 1100 sq. ft. with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms along with a well stocked kitchen, an 8 place dining room table and a 4 place breakfast table overlooking the Atlantic ocean, we think that you will find the accommodations both spacious and comfortable as you relax to the sound of the ocean waves.

The living room is furnished with a comfortable sofa and love seat, a 42" flat screen TV with cable, and an MP3/IPOD station for your musical enjoyment.

The master bedroom (Captain's Quarters), overlooks the ocean and Avon Pier with an adjoining balcony and has a separate master bathroom. It is furnished with a queen size bed, dresser and media chest with drawers, and a closet, providing ample storage space for clothing and personal items. We have also provided a 39" flat screen TV with cable for more relaxed TV viewing.

The master bathroom is spacious and equipped with a combo jet bath/shower arrangement and a chest to store your towels and personal toiletry items.

The second bedroom is furnished with two twin beds, a small dresser and a 24" flat screen TV with cable along with a closet.

The balcony provides some of the most panoramic and fantastic views of the ocean to be had on all of Hatteras Island as we are on the top level well above the dunes. No impediment of the view or sound of the ocean whatsoever.

The kitchen is very well stocked with full size stainless steel appliances, ample cabinet and counter space and a wine cooler.

High speed wireless internet, cable TV MP3/IPOD docking station, as assortment of books, washer and dryer, and iron and ironing board are also provided for your convenience. Limited Long distance service is provided, however cell service is excellent at the Islander and all of Hatteras Island.

Linens are not provided, but arrangements can be made to rent linens from nearby vendors. We often use Hatteras Helping Hands (252)995-3390 or (570)617-6245, located right in Avon.

The Islander Condominium complex is located in the heart of Avon and is in close proximity to many fine restaurants and shopping facilities.

A pool is on the premises for those wind blown days and a fishing pier is right next door as well. A health and fitness club is just a short walk as are tennis courts and a putting green at Club Hatteras or the Koru Club, as are many fine restaurants and shops. More information regarding things to do will be provided upon request.

Our unit is a top floor unit which is great for the views, but the Islander condominium complex is not serviced by an elevator and therefore, is not suitable for people with physical limitations.

In summary, we feel that you will find our Seamist Escape very comfortable and convenient in every way. Should you like to know more, or if we can provide any assistance to make your vacation more pleasurable, please feel free to contact us.

We thank you for your interest in Seamist Escape.

About Skip and Pat Marlowe

My wife and I have been going to the Outer Banks for over 35 years. I am a native of Norfolk Va. and spent many of my younger years surfing and fishing on Hatteras Island. It has always been a dream of mine to own property on the island. I have always considered the Outer Banks to be one of the best stretches of coastline on the Eastern seaboard. We are very happy to now own our own property and to be able to share it with others.

Skip and Pat Marlowe purchased this condo in 2013

Why Skip and Pat Marlowe chose Hatteras Island

The Islander was a perfect choice for us. The view is unparalleled, and the fact that it is a condo made sense for us, since we lived some distance away. The convenience for surfing, fishing, paddle boarding or any other water sports was a major attraction. You will never miss the perfect conditions with a view like ours. And of course, you can't beat the relaxation time with the view and sounds of the ocean right there in front of you.

What makes this condo unique

Great shops, restaurants, fishing pier and health clubs, all within walking distance.

Relaxing at the Seamist Escape

  • 5 of 5

This was our second trip to Seamist Escape and it was fantastic! This is the perfect place to just sit and sit and relax the day away. We have come to view Seamist as a second home. We cannot wait to stay again! Thank you Skip and Pat for allowing us to share your home!

amazing ocean views! Very well maintained with that "home away from home" feeling

  • 5 of 5

Skip and Pat have a true treasure that they graciously share. Their condo is very clean and tidy with comfortable furnishings and modernized electronics/appliances. When we arrived the welcome bag and note left for us on the kitchen counter was a very personal touch showing how hospitable they are. to say that the ocean views are beautiful or amazing isn't fair. They are beyond breathtaking and truly a spectacle to behold. Especially the sunrises. This obx trip will absolutely be one we'll remember forever as my boyfriend (with the help of our 2 year old daughter) proposed on the Avon pier! My fiancé, daughter and I anticipate and look forward to staying here again for future obx vacations.

Hidden Treasure

  • 5 of 5

My wife, daughter, grand-daughter, and I recently stayed at the Seamist Escape. It was everything we hoped for and more. It was clean, well kept, modernly furnished but most importantly, located in the most perfect spot. This ocean front condo provided magnificent sunrise views from its balcony. Also, by being there for July 4, we had front row seats to Avon's fire works lit off at the pier. All appliances were up-to-date and in working order as was the internet. The condo's kitchen was fully equipped with everything we required during our week visit. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit to Avon.

Beautiful views.....peaceful and welcoming

Very nice condo. Clean and nicely organized. The kitchen was fully stocked. Has everything you could need to cook with or entertain. First time to the outer banks and we loved it. If we come back with just our family then we will try to stay here again.

Great beach vacation!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time to visit this area. The condo was very nice, welcoming and very nicely decorated. Bed and furniture were comfortable and the best stocked kitchen I've ever seen.

Loved the outside deck with the ocean right in front of us, we spent a lot of time there. The beach is great, not crowded, it's clean and has a great access. Greatly enjoyed our daily walks on this beach. Thought we would mind not having an elevator but found that climbing the steps wasn't bad at all. We got in more physical activity and felt better for it. Numerous places to get good fresh seafood or other choice meals. Grocery store very near if you want to cook your own. Would definitely recommend this unit and area to any wanting a relaxing vacation!

A True and Absolute Seamist Escape with stunning views and accommodations!

  • 5 of 5

If I had to use only one word to describe our stay @ Seamist Escape, it wouldn't be possible at all! Words like stunning, restful, charming would not begin to describe it. Seamist Escape for me has now topped my last of return visits! People always talk about their happy place and where that would be. Well, mine is definitely here. It just makes my soul happy.

Skip and Pat were extraordinary and worked with us to make our 20th Anniversary the very best. Memories of Seamist Escape will always be etched in our day to day lives. (I hope that we will be invited back!)

The views of the ocean from every room bordered with the sound of the ocean made it a very relaxing and peaceful trip. Gone were the sounds of traffic and everyday noise, replaced with the tranquility of the harmony of the ocean. If what you want is rest, please make a request to stay here.

The rooms were big and stylishly decorated with everything nautical from the tiniest seashell to lighthouses. The porch was situated such that their was always a view of sunrises and ocean dreams. The biggest other joy was the kitchen and cooking while the ocean sounded around you. The kitchen was soundly stocked with what ever that you needed down to the chicken bouillon that is a staple in our own home.

Day trips to Ocracoke and Hatteras were easy trips and worth the extra effort to see. The Cape Hatteras Seashore is a absolutely the most amazing place to see, from sand dunes over 25 feet high to estuaries in the natural reserves.

If you are looking for a place that is relaxing and peaceful, this is it.

I would like to personally thank both Skip and Pat for their hospitality and sharing their home with us, it was truly a soulful and heartfelt experience.

We would highly recommend Seamist Escape to anyone who loves the ocean and would like to "escape" reality if only for a short time.
