This lovely cottage is a private waterfront cottage, located on the mainland in Clayton. Beautiful view of the shipping channel. Screened in porch to sit and watch the ships go by. Central air conditioning. Private dock. Two bedrooms have full size beds, and the third bedroom has two twin beds. Sleeps 6 persons . Max 6 persons. Large bathroom. Large yard. Walking distance to downtown Clayton. (1 mile). Rented by the week only in high season, Saturday to Saturday.​ No pets. No parties. No events.

2025 Clayton New York Fishing Trip

The Little Red Cottage is perfect!,plenty of room,nice boat dock,good location,everything went well while we were there.Good weather,and the fishing was great!We will definitely be back.

We have stayed here for 3 consecutive years. Wonderful cottage and location. The dock is great for fishing and swimming. Yard is large for our family gathering, games and campfires. We absolutely love this cottage and plan to return. Owner communication is great with easy check in and out.

Nice little cottage with great views of the passing ships

We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage which included everything we needed to enjoy the week. We loved relaxing on the screened in porch and watching the ships go by. Great base to explore the area.

Awesome Cottage

Cottage was perfect and the screened in porch was awesome. My Son and I just enjoyed the screened in porch and the beautiful view of the river.Hope to visit this beautiful cottage again.

Wonderful Cottage sat in Clayton

Our family of five had a fantastic stay at this wonderful property. It’s clean and well-furnished. The closed-in porch with an amazing view of the St Lawerence River was breath-taking.

Lovely cottage! Everything was in perfect working order. Beds were very comfortable. Very beautiful view of the river from the back screened in porch. We sat out there every morning and evening. Got great pics of the wildlife. Very peaceful location.

Beautiful river views

Peaceful two weeks. Clayton is an enjoyable community in the summer. Friendly people, lively places to eat. We enjoyed the Clayton Opera House listening to the Irish Kings. We had a wonderful boat tour of the islands. Absolutely happy with everything. We will return.

We have stayed here for a few years now. We love the location. It can’t be beat. Quiet, close to Clayton and a private dock. I will say, the home is becoming dated and old. Things need to be updated. Even though it’s clean, it’s just feeling old and worn out. We still enjoyed our stay though and Elizabeth is always a joy to work with.

Great fishing

Fantastic! The view, either from the dock, yard or the screened in porch is great. If you are going to have a family vacation you can catch fish from the dock. We caught bowfin, large mouth and small mouth bass, rock bass, bluegill, pumpkin seed sunfish and yellow perch. Cottage was well stocked with everything we needed. Had a great family vacation.

Rest. Relax. Repeat.

This property is exactly as described and the owner, Beth, was VERY responsive to my questions. She was so helpful and welcoming and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful spot to watch the ships go by, to relax and to watch the beautiful sunsets. The dock was super helpful and allowed us to dock our boat and jet ski for some River fun and there was plenty of parking for our four vehicles and our boat trailer. It’s an amazing little cottage and if you’re looking to rest, relax, repeat then this is the cottage for you!

Excellent Cottage!!!!

Clean, Excellent Condition, EVERYTHING was very clean, well maintained and worked perfectly. Great attention to detail in both mainitainence and cleanliness!!!! The furnace, hot water heater, outside AC unit, Fridge, stove, and bathroom all appeared to be fairly new. Good Windows and doors, ample draperies, well stocked kitchen (not food, of course) and ample supply of towels. Firm, but GOOD bed mattresses, a rarity. On-site owner was friendly and helpful. Beautiful view. The pictures were very accurate and not misleading. Very Private!! Would go back in a heartbeat!!!!

Clean & Beautiful Location

We absolutely loved our stay. This cottage isn’t fancy and it’s small but it was VERY clean and updated inside. The yard is gorgeous and we loved the fire pit close to the house. The only downside is no washer & dryer. There is a laundromat close by though. We loved our stay. ❤️

Great location & cottage!

This is such a great location! About half mile from Clayton and about 7 miles from Alex Bay! We loved the screened in porch, it was so relaxing. We took our dog abd she loved it there also. She didn't want to leave either! Whenever I contacted owner to ask questions they got right back. It was a great time! We will return Lord willing !! Thanks for sharing your beautiful little place!

Perfect Family Vacation

Everything about this little cottage is perfect. The hosts are very experienced and friendly. Cottage provides all the amenities and privacy we needed to have a relaxing and enjoyable week retreat. Location was ideal as well. Very special place. We hope to book again next summer!

My 70+ years old sister and I stayed four nights. Everything was just as described: nothing disappointed, neither location nor decor nor amenities nor owner. Particulars: I read alot, so I really appreciated the excellent floor lamps. My sister enjoyed the porch and the wildlife: Canada Geese and their goslings, swans, herons, songbirds. We both found the mattresses very comfortable, which, like the fabulous lighting, is not a small thing! Elizabeth Docteur rectified an internet connection problem quickly and assured us she was always available for anything we might need. Last, but not least, you park the car right at the door!! All of which is to say we would definitely stay here again.

Great view of the 1000s Islands

Great location to relax and explore the islands. A bit secluded and right on the lake, but a good skip and jump to town. Thanks for letting us stay in your home.
