This was the second year that I stayed at this property. If it’s available in the future I definitely would sign up again.

From booking to check out the communication was a handled professionally. I received clear instructions on the location and how to get the keys through a mailbox on site. The unit was clean and bottled water and macnuts were provided as part of the rental.

The location was perfect for my event at the Convention Center which was about a ten minute easy walk along Kalakaua.

I forgot my notes for the check-in and called the contact number. I received a response in minutes which helped me get into the unit.

The bed was comfortable and a/c was a welcome amenity.

The unit is part of a hotel and security is available 24 hrs. a day..I did not use any of the food establishments on this trip. There’s coffee, a bar, breakfast restaurant and malasadas stores in the hotel. One evening there was a pizza lunch wagon on property. 7-11 and ABC stores are within minutes walking distance

I took a shuttle to the property as I didn’t want to rent a car lol pay $25 for parking. The bus line is steps away so getting around was convenient.

The apartment was okay; it was clean; the furniture moderate. The AC could be better.

The apartment was quite a nice place for one, but small for two. Rating for the apartment: ****

The Hawaiian Monarch was an awful place, I can‘t recommend (Rating: *).

- Service: Poor

- Gym: Partly outdated

- Laundry facility: End of lifecycle

- Building should be fixed up

We were visiting our son who lives in Honolulu. The studio worked great for our needs.

Perfect location, close to everything we needed. Very comfortable and, for a studio, it had everything we needed. Would stay here again. Jason was very responsive to our needs as well.

Condo Unit is Good, Building is So-So

  • 4 of 5

We liked the location of the condo for the bus, a bit further of a walk then we would like (our fault). Overall the condo had clean linens, beach towels, bathroom towels, AC, wifi, and a small kitchenette. We didn't love that the toilet ran quiet a long time before it shut off, and based on pictures we expected it to be a biiiiit bigger, also it's quite bright at night as the curtains don't block out all the light. Jason was a great host who made sure we were settled. The building is rather old but the condo unit itself is updated. I would recommend this for single travellers as my husband and I were a bit on top of each other, and two large suitcases in the condo was a game of Tetris. Thanks for the wonderful rental in Waikiki! Oh, and Cream Pot downstairs for brunch is amazing!
