Once you arrive, you can relax and put the car keys away! Two parking spaces are conveniently located right outside the house.

The upper level of the home consists of one bedroom with bunk beds and a full bathroom. The loft has a brand new flip game table that allows you to play pool or air hockey! The lower level has two bedrooms with a queen size bed each that share Jack and Jill bathroom. The master bedroom in on the other side of the lower level and has its own bathroom. The living room has a gas fireplace with a couch and love seat as well as a comfy rocking chair. A stack-able washer and dryer can be found in the utility closet right off the kitchen, which has been recently updated and is fully stocked. The mudroom is right off the kitchen with a door that leads to the fenced-in doggy area (there's even a doggy door) . No more freezing morning walks to take the dogs out - you can just supervise them from the warmth of the mudroom or kitchen windows.

As you exit from the living room area, there is large deck area with a 5person hot-tub and gas BBQ for everyone to enjoy. A bird feeder attracts some of the most beautiful birds in the area.

There you can picnic while taking in the beauty of the waterfall and pond. If you cross Tamarack Road across from Perry Park, you can begin Upper Pond Creek Trail called Beech Mountain's favorite trail, a one mile easy hike ending in Lake Coffey. This can easily turn into a full day of family fun!

A half-mile walk to Fred's for a quick lunch of their famous Chili will have you ready to cross Highway 184 for a visit to the recently built DOG PARK! Two large running areas are available for small and large dogs as well as sitting areas for owners to relax and take in the view.

Ready for an afternoon of ZIP LINING, TUBING, or RAFTING? A short 17 mile drive to Hawksnest or 25 miles to Boone, will have you on an adventure ride of a lifetime. How about HORSEBACK RIDING? Banner Elk Stables are 8.5 miles away from your doorstep and are open year-round. On the way back from riding, a quick stop at the TROUT FARMS on NC-105, will ensure a great ending to a fun-filled day.

About Betty Trueba

Carlos and Betty have been married 34 years, have two wonderful daughters, and look forward to being grandparents this fall. They have both been avid skiers but due to a knee injury a few years back, Betty pursues her other passions - road and mountain biking, as well as running. Skis, Pedals, 'n Paws allows them to be close to their hobbies as well as have their beloved American Bulldogs - Junior and Mimi, along for the fun.

Betty Trueba purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Betty Trueba chose Blue Ridge Mountains

North Carolina has always tugged at their hearts having visited the area often with their family. This past winter, after visiting the vacant lot they own in RiverBend at Lake Lure, Carlos and Betty decided it was time to build the cabin of their dreams. They continued their Christmas vacation to Beech Mountain discussing their plans and stayed at the Treehouse Condominiums near Kick Turn Lane. They had visited this area before and had even vacationed in the cabin nearest the slopes in 2005. While going through a real estate brochure, Betty found that 106 was on sale and the rest is history. They were able to do a quick walk through and immediately upon their return to Miami, decided to purchase the cabin, realizing this was their dream home and location. Eager to share in their good fortune, the Truebas have opened their home to other families and guests looking to enjoy the beauty of North Carolina.

What makes this cabin unique

Ski, Pedals 'n Paws offers the best of all worlds . Enjoy all the outdoor activities close by and then come home and relax by the fire. Best of all, your pets will always be welcome regardless of breed, since Betty is often fosters and rescues dogs back in Miami.

Nice location to escape the heat

  • 5 of 5

We come to the Banner Elk area a lot, but decided to find a place on Beech Mountain this time. This house is well situated - just a few minutes away from the "downtown" and walking distance to a very good restaurant with spectacular views. Although located in a neighborhood, it is wooded so that you have that sense of privacy. The house was very spacious and had everything that we needed for cooking and for a comfortable stay. And, very accommodating for our fur babies!

Great family vacation home.

  • 5 of 5

The home was perfectly suited for our family of 5 plus a dog. Home was immaculately clean, fully stocked kitchen, easy parking for 2 cars, easy access to Beech Mountain biking trails, easy ride into town for food/ great eating spots in the area. Comfortable and plush bedding, great fenced in area for dog to get outdoors, beautiful deck space with ready to use jacuzzi. Would definitely revisit the property. Many thanks to the homeowner, who made to rental process easy. The homeowner, was readily available for any questions and instructions regarding use of the home. Really a wonderful property for summer or winter rental, easy walk to the trails/slopes.

Wonderful dog friendly rental for vacation

  • 4 of 5

My wife and I traveled to Beech Mountain for the Fourth of July and Highland Games event at Grandfather Mountain with our parents and dogs. We were thrilled to find a rental cabin willing to accept our three dogs (most are either pet-free or have limited reqs for size and number of pets). The owner was very responsive to our inquiries and eventual booking. The cabin is located seconds (by car) away from the Beech Mountain center, and the amazing dog park. Further, a one-two minute walk to the ski slopes, where during the summer you can hike up or down the mountain. While the cabin was somewhat dated, the overall feel is very comfortable, with plenty of space for the four of us and three pups. Beds were extremely comfortable, though one complaint from our parents was that there was no TV in guest rooms other than master and bunk beds on second floor. Though this may not be an issue for all guests. The kitchen was fully stocked, reducing the need to eat out of every meal. Overall, we had an amazing week and the cabin met all of our needs. Thank you for having a great, pet friendly cabin for our family vacation.

WONDERFUL HOUSE AND FANTASTIC LOCATION

  • 5 of 5

This house is fantastic! Beautifully decorated and cozy with all the comforts anyone could possibly want. The new hot tub worked wonders after a day of skiing and hiking. The location is to die for with snow boarding and skiing a very short walk out the front door. Not only is this house pet friendly, the pet rules are such that it keeps the place neat and clean for people that don't have pets. The owner is responsive and cares about your stay. We couldn't have asked for a better vacation.

Well equiped but older

  • 5 of 5

Mrs. Betty was most attentive before and during our stay. We stayed during February to ski and it was into the 20's some nights. There were some issues with heat, but Mrs. Betty got us help. We love how close the house is to the slopes and the hot tub was refreshing. Hope we get to return next year.
