Could use some updating; upstairs neighbor (who was apparently a permanent resident) was a bit loud at times; only a couple logs available for fireplace (glad I brought some with me. View was excellent and overall enjoyed our stay.

Clean rooms and very homely place. The condo its self is absolutely gorgeous and amazing this is the 2nd time I have stayed there. Love it!! But be sure you get what you want and need. No stores near you.

Played golf and ate out as well as visited Mt. Airy and Pilot Mountain. Had a wonderful relaxing few days.

Great locale, close enough to towns we wanted to visit. Comfortable furniture and bed!Did not realize there was a steepish outdoor staircase; we took that pretty slowly!Bathtubs need a safety mat, storm door handle kept coming off.. .The VIEW and surroundings were enchanting!Owner was very good with suggestions, etc. .

Perfect mountain get away

We spent the weekend in this adorable condo and it was perfect! The location was great and we enjoyed the Blue Ridge Parkway and surrounding little towns, Floyd, VA and Mt. Airy, NC.

Cozy and beautiful!

This was like a home away from home. The property was just as advertised, cozy and well equipped. It was my first time booking a vrbo and the owner went above and beyond to ensure we found the location and had everything we needed. Great stay!

Cozy, clean and quiet.... perfect!!

Perfect location for hiking, taking winery tours and tastings and waking thru the quaint towns along the way. The condo was clean and very comfy! Great way to end the day, enjoying a glass of wine on the balcony and taking in the scenery. Would definitely stay there again!!!

Great location

The condo served us well as we were in the area for a family reunion. While the property did not feel the cleanest, it was comfortable and I feel that part of it was the age of the property. It needs a few updates but was well stocked for what we needed. I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Great Peaceful Place

Great place to enjoy the blue ridge parkway and the beautiful mountains. Owner was great and quick to respond. We had a mishap and Ben took care of it for us and really helped us out. I highly recommend if you are looking for peacefulness and scenery.

Premier views of the Piedmont/Pilot

The accommodations were clean and comfortable. While we have been seeking properties in this area off/on for a decade, our stay here really opened our eyes to the Hideaway Lifestyle. Everything we needed to sustain outdoors adventures or to just ‘hole up’ during inclimate weather. Our return is inevitable.

Amazing View

Stayed one night while traveling on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Precise directions just off the parkway. Quaint and cozy. The view off the back deck was AMAZING! Saw a beautiful sunset and sunrise. Crabapple tree just off the deck full of birds, humming birds played all evening and morning. Would definitely stay again!

peaceful mountain getaway

What a wonderful place to escape to. The view from the deck was enough to sell me, but everything else about the condo adds to the charm and the enjoyment of getting away from the city. Comfortable beds, great video, music and book library, well appointed kitchen for those who enjoy cooking and don't want to have to bring a kitchen with you. It was a relaxing, enjoyable weekend for the sisters and I thank Ben for offering this place. Can't wait to get back there - and the resident kitty might be there to welcome you!

Comfortable condo with a spectacular view!

We liked the comfortable beds and the well-stocked kitchen and LOVED the balcony! However, the smell of cigarette smoke in the living area and especially in the bedroom closest to the side door created problems for us. The sweet smell of the Glade plug-in made the smell even worse. There were also lots of spiders in the "smoky" bedroom. We did appreciate the tips regarding hiking trails and places to eat. We found a beautiful trail at mile marker 169 and even spotted a black bear. We also enjoyed breakfast at Mabrey Mill.

Sue, I am betting the smoke smell may have been from the fire place. We were the last ones in the unit before you and did not notice a cigarette smell and neither of us smoke. Because it was warm I did not notice if someone may have left a partially burned piece of wood in the fire place. When that happens you will sometime get a smoke smell. Either way I appreciate your comments and sorry you were not 100% pleased.

Cozy retreat

We had a great stay, but first let me tell you what this place isn't. It isn't a fancy chalet. It isn't pristine and perfect. it isn't new and fresh. So if those things are important to you. Now, let me tell you what it is. It is well designed with two bedrooms that each have a king bed and a bathroom. It is a small, cozy and comfortable place to stay at a great price. It is a place that has increible views with a full wall of windows. My wife and I stayed with another couple for a trip to visit "Mayberry" in Mt. Airy. This place gave us a great place to enjoy a mountain setting off the Blue Ridge Parkway that was less than 30 minutes away. As long as you don't show up with expectations of a pristine and updated chalet, you'll enjoy the place as much as we did, which was we enjoyed our stay a lot.

Amazing condo!

My husband and I recently stayed at this condo for 4 nights. I cannot say enough positive things about the lodging, as well as the communication with Ben, the property owner. He sent very detailed driving instructions and we didn't have any trouble finding the location. The view is even more amazing than the pictures. The location literally just off the parkway is very convenient for exploring the stops both north and south. It was very quiet and relaxing the entire time; not sure why some of the other reviewers commented about the neighbor who lives above. We heard footsteps a few times, but it was not disturbing to us. I also want to mention the owners' attention to the "little things" that made a big impression on me--thick, soft towels, soft, plush throws, and quality tissue paper. We have stayed in several VRBO locations and usually get the thin, inexpensive towels and tissue. We will definitely stay here again if we return to this area and will recommend to family and friends, Thanks, Ben, for sharing your comfortable condo with us!

I live just outside Charlotte in Fort Mill SC but was born in Mount Airy, NC and grew up in Mount Airy and Hillsville, VA . My wife is from Asheville, NC. You can take the girl out of the mountains but you can't take mountain out of the girl. We purchased our little slice of Heaven and get up whenever we can to enjoy the cool mountain air and enjoy a stress free time away from life down below. We decided since we could not be there all the time it was to nice not to share. We rented through a rental company for several years but decided we could provide our guest a better experience with upgraded linens, a fully appointed kitchen and a more comfortable stay.
