Great place. Awesome view.

  • 5 of 5

Loved the place and the view of Pilot Mountain was incredible. Owner allowed us to burn a little firewood which was great with temps around 16deg. Very clean place. Comfortable beds. Everything you could need for a cozy winter get away with a panoramic view of the mountains. I would recommend this to anyone.

Loved the view

  • 4 of 5

First the positives. We loved the view and the beds were very comfortable. The owner was easy to deal with by email. Negatives, it was a long way from anything and there was no cell service. We are in our 70's and the stairs to the apartment were long and steep. Hard to get our belongings up and down. Probably better suited to younger people.

peaceful mountain getaway

  • 5 of 5

What a wonderful place to escape to. The view from the deck was enough to sell me, but everything else about the condo adds to the charm and the enjoyment of getting away from the city. Comfortable beds, great video, music and book library, well appointed kitchen for those who enjoy cooking and don't want to have to bring a kitchen with you. It was a relaxing, enjoyable weekend for the sisters and I thank Ben for offering this place. Can't wait to get back there - and the resident kitty might be there to welcome you!

A wonderful place

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay very much. It was clean, comfortable, and had a great view. The beds were good, far better than most hotel beds, but they were hard, which some people might not like. The kitchen was good, I could have cooked there easily had I wanted to, but we weren't in the room long enough to bother with anything but morning coffee, which was provided. A few tea bags would have been nice, there was one bag, so no variety. Plenty of nice clean fluffy towels. Comfortable furniture. I was a little uncomfortable with the idea that there was someone else's food in the refrigerator and freezer. There was a freezer burnt pound of hamburger meat and some sausages in the freezer that I think should have been thrown out. There were a bunch of condiments left over, and I have no idea how I feel about that, on one hand it's really convenient, on the other hand, how long have they been there and who's done what with them? But hey, that's really the only negative, and that's pretty easy to just ignore! We could hear the upstairs neighbors, but it wasn't objectionable. One other comment. This wasn't a problem for us at all, but there are a number of wooden steps that lead down from the parking area to the front door. Certainly not handicapped accessible. So, just be aware if that's an issue for you.

None of this is meant to be a negative, just things to know about. We'd love to stay there again next year.

Owner's Response: The condiments are darned if you do darned if you don't. Both beds have a 2 in memory foam topper and the linens are 600 thread count all cotton. And yes there are steps. All the Tennis Chalets that are rented have steps. Thanks for the tea bag suggestion. We'll be sure to add it. We do keep some food available as we have guest who do not arrive until late and the nearest restaurant is 10 miles away and closes at 8 pm. Glad you enjoyed your stay.
