Enjoyed Our Stay

  • 4 of 5

House hit the mark for many of the things we needed. All the windows were awesome and the same worked very well for our large party. Access to the beach was fine.

Well maintained, spacious, close to the beach, stocked with everything you may need

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect! we had a group of 12 adults, an infant, and a toddler and there was more then enough room. There was plenty of dishes for all of our meals and everything you needed to prepare them. The property is beautiful with amazing views. The private beach was perfect and the house had beach towels and chairs to take down which was a bonus. We had a wonderful stay!

Serenity, Spectacular and Spacious! (with a few stairs and fans)...

  • 4 of 5

Our large group stayed here during a warm, humid summer week in late July. The house had A/C only on the lowest, smallest level and we had a hard time getting comfortable, thus we had many of the sliders open and fans running. Suffice to say, we received some noise complaints, but talking over the fans and having the windows open was simply our destiny.

Needless to say, the house was visited by a mechanical subcontractor to consider having A/C installed house-wide and now I read that that has been implemented.

Thus, this house is perfection (if you do not mind several flights of stairs, which we didn't). Everything about it was worth the money and we will be staying there again, so that is the best and most honest testimonial I can offer. Parking was no problem as the place accommodated about four to five cars, depending on the vehicle sizes. Everything about it was as advertised; this is a very special home and unbeatable location. Enjoy!

It was fantastic! A little chilly this time of year but the fall colors are pretty!

  • 5 of 5

We loved it. Accommodated our big group well. We made some great meals in the very well stocked kitchen and loved the big living space up on the top level. Enough towels and sheets and extra blankets for what we needed. Bathrooms are a little small but very nice. The master is gorgeous. And the bunks fit adults! We'd love to come back.

Unique House, with Great Space for Entertaining and Private Beach

  • 5 of 5

Our group of 8 adults and 2 kids had a great time at the house.

Location:

This property is inside a gated community. The provided gate code worked fine, and we never had any troubles getting in. The road up to the house is an experience! It’s a one-way, one lane wide road up through the hills. The beach is just a short walk down the road. You can see Lake Michigan from the wrap around decks. Parking is tight! We had 4 cars, and I’m not sure we could’ve fit another. It’s only a 15-20 min drive to Holland, which is a plus.

Beach:

The beach was awesome! From the private beach entrance you can walk (or at least we did!) down to the Big Red Lighthouse. The beach was clean and calm.

House:

Very unique looking house, inside and out. As stated in the other reviews, yes, there are stairs, and lots of them! Our group handled them fine, but I can see where it’d be an issue for others. There was a slight musty smell, I’m guessing from the proximity to the lake and all the wood work. The house was clean and bright, and ready for our arrival. While there are extra towels for the beach, there are only one or two bath towels provided per bedroom. No other extras are provided, so you might need to do some laundry for longer stays.

Kitchen:

Adequate space, and semi open to the living areas. It could use a little updating, as the cabinets are a little hard to open, and the fridge was a bit small. Luckily there is an additional mini fridge on a lower level. It is fully stocked with cookware, but there was no condiments, paper plates or foil.

Amenities:

One of the best features was the big open living space on the top floor. We could all sit and eat, and play board games with plenty of room. We did run into a couple issues with the bluray/dvd player. The remote seemed to be missing, and the player would freeze on movies part of the way through. It made it difficult to try to solve the freezing without a remote to help. There is AC, but I’m guessing it has a hard time reaching the top floor, since there are fans available.

Management:

Susan was very helpful, friendly, and answered all my questions. I’ve never worked with an agency when renting a vacation house before. It was different not being able to directly email or text the owner, but it worked out fine.

Overall, I would definitely recommend this house. The location is unique, and it had plenty of room for us. The views are beautiful, and you definitely feel like you’re on vacation somewhere special.

Beautiful, spacious home in the trees!

  • 4 of 5

This home is located very close to a private beach where we watched gorgeous sunsets. The beach is beautiful, the beach-goers are friendly and polite too. The house is huge. It comfortably sleeps 8 adults and 8 kids. There is a beautiful master bathroom but only 2 other bathrooms for the remaining guests. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, etc. The home is elegant and peaceful. There is plenty of seating indoors and outdoors on the wrap around deck. We enjoyed our time here immensely. The decor is neutral, quite pleasant (IKEA). There are a lot of stairs to get up to the actual living spaces after 2 small landings. This home is definitely not handicap-accessible and you'll need at least 2 baby gates to keep young children away from the stairs. The front door was difficult to open as it gets stuck and required great effort to open at times. There is no yard at all so many outdoor games we brought could not be used and trying to carry all these items to and from the beach proved too burdensome. There are steps that lead to an elevated wooded area off the top floor deck but not safe for children. We enjoyed our stay overall. It accommodated our large family well.
