About the property

Breath-taking Waterfront Property with Historic Cottage

Come enjoy this historic home and estate. The views are spectacular and will take your breath away! The property features a historic home, secluded privacy on over 11 acres of waterfront property, mature trees and stunning views of the river.

The covered pier is provided for guests who would like to bring their own boat and a launch ramp is just down the street. If you don't have your own boat feel free to use one of our kayaks or canoe. Fishing is good and many guests have good luck direcctly off the pier. Others choose to paddle out to nearby Sharkstooth Island and fish along the way.

2015 was the first year we have offered the property to the public and the response has been overwhelming. Currioman Landings is a very special place to us, we are sure that you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Over the last 18 months the property has been extensively remodeled to ensure it is pleasant and worry free for guests. Noteworthy updates include:

Interior paint, carpet and fixtures - New HVAC and air conditioning - New master bathroom - New pier and boat slips - Wireless high speed internet - Updated landscaping.

New for 2016:

*Boats - We have added a sunfish sailboat, a canoe, a single kayak and a tandem kayak for guest use.

*Bikes - Several bikes are now located at the house for exploring the local countryside.

*Lawn games - Nothing says summer like a game of croquet in the front yard.

*Second furnace and AC unit added for the second floor to ensure things stay cool in the really hot stretches.

About Joe Lambert

Our family has owned this home for four generations. We enjoy spending time on the river, playing games in the field or simply sitting in the shade and enjoying the view.

Why Joe Lambert chose Chesapeake Bay

Currioman Landings sits atop a steep bluff over the Potomac which is miles wide at that point. Most people find that the property offers a really unique escape from the day to day stress of life. From watching the resident bald eagles or walking in the gardens to playing in the river this is one of our favorite places to be.

What makes this cottage unique

Tall mature trees and wide yards provide exceptional privacy while allowing plenty of room for a large family to spread out.

Wildlife - 2016 is shaping up to be one of the better wildlife years in recent recollection. We've had two eagles take up residence on the property as well as a rotating cast of herons and other sea birds. The beavers in the creek are busy working on their den and we even have the occasional dear that will wander by.

Wedding at Montross

  • 5 of 5

This property was perfect for my wedding! It was a beautiful view right on the water! All of our guests commented on the view and serenity of this place! The owner was very helpful and extremely quick to respond to any questions we had. Our wedding consisted of just under 100 guests and there was more than enough room! Our ceremony was located under a beautiful tree, cocktail hour was near the gardens, and our reception was in the wide open field where we had a large tent. The water extends across the whole property so you always have a beautiful view of the water no matter where you are! The only problem is there is not a ton of options for guests to stay. The Inn at Montross is awesome and we filled those rooms. The rest of our guests stayed in other VRBO homes in the area. My family stayed the rest of the weekend and went to sharks tooth beach which you can see from the property and boat to easily! Over all it was the perfect venue for our wedding and we could not have gotten a better deal!

Relaxing and refreshing

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed observing the birds flying, diving, and fishing. The house is spacious and wonderfully comfortable, but crying out for some TLC and minor repairs. The new boat dock is very sturdy and well built. Thanks to the owners for preserving such an amazing home.

First off, the views were unbelievable! It was a perfect getaway to refresh my spirit. It is only two hours from DC which made it close enough to get to easily, but it seemed like a world away. I went in February, so the water was too cold to use the boats, but for people who liked to play on the water I think they would be fun. The best part for me was being able to take my dog and the fun he had running on the property. He is a greyhound, but my service dog, so he doesn't get to run very often. He used the outside of the house like a race track and it was so much fun to see his joy as he raced around the perimeter of the house.

I took my sewing machine and sat it up in the large dining area, which had wall-to-wall windows and fantastic views of the river. What a great way to spend my time! I also enjoyed reading and watching TV in front of the wood-burning fireplace.

The beds were comfortable. And there was plenty of space if someone wanted to bring more people .

I hope to come back some time with my family. Thank you Joe for sharing your house!

Wonderful Thanksgiving Week!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this wonderful house for the Thanksgiving holidays to spend with my daughter and son-in-law who is a Marine stationed at Quantico. The drive to the house is beautiful. The house is very inviting and cozy. We cooked an entire Thanksgiving feast and had most everything we could want or need in the kitchen. The men canoed and enjoyed walking the wonderful property. The beds are comfy and the rooms are large enough to spread out. This house is a great opportunity to unplug and refuel. The view of the bay is breathtaking. Joe is the perfect rental owner. Always answered right away and made us feel welcome and at home. Thank you, Joe, for allowing us to share in the history of your place!

privacy and beauty!

  • 5 of 5

We had our sons wedding reception here and stayed 4 nights. It was perfect for our family get together. We enjoyed everything the land and house had to offer. I am sitting here, drinking my coffee on the wonderful screened in porch, watching the sun rise on the water. It doesn't get any better. The house was well stocked and plenty of room for my family. Took the canoe out to sharks tooth island. The grandkids had a ball searching for teeth. Thank you Joe for opening up this wonderful property. We will for sure be back!

Currioman Landings sits on Currioman Bay, while technically part of the Potomac river the water is so wide here you might guess that you're looking at the Chesapeake. The local area is very rural, you may go an entire week without seeing a neighbor. We enjoy the area for the privacy, birds and natural views.
