About Karen York
This is the home place in which I grew up. I attended Columbia High School. This has the small town charm where you know everyone.
Karen York purchased this House in 1974
Why Karen York chose Columbia
This is family owned property. I grew up with my brother on the river-fishing, swimming, canoeing, water skiing and boating. I have enjoyed many years on the river with our family and friends and would like to share this experience with other couples and families. There is nothing as enjoyable like watching the sunset over the mouth of the Scuppernong River and the Albemarle Sound every afternoon.
What makes this House unique
Watching the sunset every afternoon sitting one the deck with my family is what made me fall in love with the River House. We have shared many meals with our family and friends outside. Cooking local seafood. And best of all making home made peach ice cream.

Great view! Had everything we needed.
Stayed at Riverhouse for bike week. Enjoyable afternoon on deck. Stunning sunsets. Nice drive to beach. Looking forward to next trip back.
Great place to rest and relax with the family!
We are so happy you had the chance to enjoy the sunsets and relax at our Riverhouse.
The house was great, and had everything you need. Beautiful views, beautiful sunsets, quiet and relaxing.
The views were amazing and the house was immaculate!
We never get tired of the view of first light in the morning and sunset in the evening. Thank you. We are glad you enjoyed our river house!
We stayed here when we were evacuated from Hatteras Island during Maria. Karen was a wonderful host, she was very responsive and was really accommodating. The location was lovely, just feet from the river, quiet and secluded. Our dogs loved the calm waters of the river and the large yard to play in. The house had plenty of room and was comfortable. We had a beautiful sunset and saw a river otter. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this home.
Great views! Lots of privacy, spacious house with all amenities.
I loved working with the owners it was easy and they wanted to make sure I was satisfied with my stay. House was clean, private setting, great views of the river, and the sun sets you don't want to miss sitting on that new pier. I plan to go again to take friends in October.. Loved it!!
Yes those sunsets are brilliant. Won't be long and Canada geese will be coming in.
Edenton is the closest town listed on VRBO that is why it was chosen in the search name. Hopefully soon they will add Columbia, NC to the search list.
