We are a young family, who are adventure seekers. We moved to Bigfork (from Missoula), to be closer to the things we love to do as a family. Whether it's hiking, skiing, fishing, floating, climbing, cycling, or camping, we love to be out there doing it and showing our kids how great the outdoors can be. We want other people and families to be able to create their own adventures while visiting.
Mattie purchased this cabin in 2014
We immediately fell in love with this area when we visited this property. The openness we have to let our littles explore, but mainly the ACCESS we have to all the things we love to do.
ACCESS to all the great adventures right in our neighborhood. We ourselves are explorers, we want everyone to have their own unique experience and love to share some of our favorite spots with guests. There is something for everyone.
Our stay at this cabin was very cozy even in February. While the snow was high, the space was just right for 2 people spending their time out skiing, snowshoeing, and enjoying Bigfork.
A couple of my friends and I rented this adorable cabin for a girl’s weekend and it could not have been more perfect. Mattie, the owner, is sweet and accommodating. She gave us a great snowshoeing spot recommendation as well. This cabin is tucked away and secluded, yet a short drive into Bigfork. It was a little tight for three people but Mattie had an air mattress with bedding waiting for us upon arrival. This place is truly a gem!
If you’ve read the other reviews, yes, the cabin is small. But, this cabin (and it’s owners) have a very big heart.
When we arrived, we were greeted by Mattie and her happy little ones (dog included). The cabin sits away from the main house and is hidden from the road by trees. Inside, the cabin was very clean and was loaded with rustic charm. The kitchen was smal but was stocked with everything we needed to make a few meals and enjoy a beverage or two on the big deck.
I have every intention of staying here again and would like to thank Mattie and family for making it such a great, welcoming stay!
We really enjoyed our stay, didn't want to leave so soon. The deck was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the fresh air. Everything was just as described. The hosts were so nice and accommodating. We will definitely be back.
My partner and I and our two dogs loved this little cabin on Matties property. The hosts were very good with communicating instructions and had no problem with our late arrival. It's indeed within very close driving distance to lots of great swimming spots and the town of big fork is quaint and has lots of restaurants. The cabin was small, one room bedroom and kitchen with a bathroom- but we didn't need any more space than that and the deck was a great spot to hang out day and night. It was a perfect home base from which to adventure and we would definitely stay here again if we're in the area.
We were looking for a comfortable place that wasn't in the middle of the holiday madness around Glacier National Park, and this was the perfect choice. Mattie ensures everything is fully stocked, and you can even rent bear spray to take on your hikes. She was super responsive to all our questions and made sure we were settled in well. We'd definitely come back next time we hike in the area!
