Why Phyllis Kennedy chose Gloucester
Realization of a dream to buy this historic property at the corner of Bass Avenue and Good Harbor Beach. The name is inspired by just how lucky we feel to be the new owners and to share our home with you.
What makes this House unique
Gorgeous ocean and beach views from every room with just steps to Good Harbor Beach. Beautiful interior with wood accents throughout. Sit on the porch out front or have lunch on the picnic table in the yard. Room for the whole family to enjoy an amazing beach vacation. For families requiring a bit more room there is a third floor apartment available for an additional fee.

Sports & Adventure Activities
Our family of ten stayed for a weekend occasioned by the marriage of our daughter in Gloucester. The house is as presented. Large, on the water and has plenty of room. Big kitchen, lovely sunroom and many decks. Can't beat the setting overlooking Good harbor beach. I would give it 5 stars except for the fact the house needs work but this is a small quibble because overall it was perfect for us. Our host Phyllis was gracious allowing earlier check-in and later check-out. As a footnote one of the family members who is from Gloucester used to come to the house to play with a friend-this was sixty years ago. Small world.
Magical setting -- Spacious, practical house
This our second time renting this property and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. The house is just steps from Good Harbor Beach which is a perfect beach for the four little girls ages 5 to 8. The tidal river is fun, the waves are just large enough for aging grandparents and young girls and the water is often shallow; and did I mention the hermit crabs which we all love catching?
Set on a cliff, the views from the house are magical. One side faces the ocean; another the marsh. We especially enjoyed watching the tide, listening to the waves, and observing the birds.
The house is large and comfortable and easily accommodated our family of 13 with plenty of room for the occasional day guest.
The gracious owner greeted us at check-in and showed us the features of the
house. She has supplied the house with everything from linens to kitchen equipment to beach toys.
We will definitely return to this house again.
We were 5 families ( all related) staying here and the space was perfect for all of us. We all loved the few steps to the beach and plenty of parking for a reunion event with our extended family members. Kitchen cupboards & drawers very well stocked with pots/ pans/ utensils ( more than you can imagine. No need to bring any from home. Loved the porch & all the balconies off the rooms. Great cross ventilation. Can't beat this home for space and location. Will come back again for sure.
Charming old fashion beach house
What an incredible vacation home. Views of Good Harbor Beach are stunning. We celebrated a post wedding family and friends reunion. The house offered all the comforts of home for 19 guests. Sunrise and sunsets, full moon, ocean breezes, low tide walks to Salt Island, porch sitting, and simple strolls to beach were highlights. Bedrooms are bright and comfortable with plenty of bathrooms. Gloucester is walkable with so much to do and eat. Truly a remarkable and memorable vacation experience.
This was a wonderful vacation home! Our family takes a group vacation every year and this was an all time favorite! No need to pack up the car as the beach is a few steps away. The views from the decks and windows were amazing and Good Harbour Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in New England! The home with its three floors had plenty of space for everyone and had everything our family of 16 could want or need...new large capacity washer and dryer, dishwasher, well stocked kitchen, comfy beds, more than enough linen and towels! I could go on and on! Phyllis was a pleasure to work with and she was quick to answer any questions we had. We hope to come back to this magical home!
Panoramic views! Decks to see Sunrises and Sunsets.
This house is a spacious one. A great place to spend vacation with friends & family. We had six here comfortably. It is close to the ocean and the marsh. You experience the beauty of both low tide and high tide. There are decks, porches and breezes on all sides of the house. You can enjoy coffee on one side to view the sun rise and enjoy snacks and drinks on the other side to watch the sun set. You can also sit on the front porch in the shade. There is privacy from hedges but can watch folks who walk and jog by as they enjoy the coastline. Dog walkers wave or nod. It is a very lovely, friendly place. Its a great place to spend time reading and/or running. Lots of shops and restaurants pretty close by too. It is easy to imagine one of Elin Hilderbrand's novels being set in a house just like this one. It has great character.
Gloucester, MA, America's oldest seaport offers many wonderful attractions from historic tours and maritime museums to outdoor activities such as whale watching and schooner rides there is something for everyone. The house is situated on a corner lot bordering Good Harbor beach. Local restaurants feature fresh fish and seafood and authentic Italian cuisine.
