Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Excellent rental. We loved the artistic decor of the unit. Simple and perfect for a couple, although need to use stairs to access bedroom upstairs. No dining area, per se, but a decent and sunny built-in booth is used for eating in a sunny alcove with lots of windows. Kitchen was not updated and was pretty clean, but dishes and silverware in drawers were sometimes not so clean. Frig and stove very clean. Maybe add a toaster, in addition to toaster oven.The double bathroom sinks upstairs and downstairs gave a feeling of spaciousness. Bathrooms fine but not fancy. Laundry room was under the house and not very welcoming.Back patio was super great.Great location right across from Carmel Plaza and surprisingly quiet most of the time, except when they were doing work twice at night on the sewer there or something. The major complaint would be the driveway, which is very bumpy near the curb and can be hard to park, so smoothing out the driveway entry would be much appreciated. Otherwise, entire house is charming, beautiful and fun. A village life.

I've stayed in many vacation rentals, but this, by far was the absolute BEST. It is beautifully furnished with everything you could ever imagine you might need. The owners were very accommodating and friendly. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a wonderful home base while exploring the area.

My wife selected this property based on the location and previous reviews and it lived up to our expectations. Checking in was easy as we were met by one of the owners (Franz) and he took us through a short walk-through of the home and we chatted about local restaurants and hikes in the nearby park. The living room is filled with light and nature as you feel like you're in a tree house. Everyday we'd watch the squirrels and pesky woodpeckers frolic about. It's a roomy home with plenty of room for up to two couples - nice sized bedrooms, lots of closet space, large kitchen and living room, and big primary bathroom (the steam shower is HUGE). Keep in mind the house is in a forest so do expect the occasional spider or fly to share the space! Location is great as it's on a quiet tree-lined street not too far from a number of restaurants, two small(ish) grocery stores, and plenty of shopping. We rarely drove while in town as everything is a short walk (be mindful there are a number of hills). While the town can get busy on the weekends, we tried to avoid Ocean Ave and walked down 8th street to our favorite spots. Communication with owners was excellent - very responsive and available to address any question. We highly recommend this property.

A perfect cottage for my family, including my dog. The cottage feels larger on the inside than it looks on the outside. It contained everything that we needed for a great stay. Only a short walk to beach and a longer walk to downtown. I will certainly consider reserving the cottage again in the future.

the place was in a great location with access to everything within a few minutes yet felt very secluded--with three private decks, a lower garden, two gas burning fireplaces and good parking. Our dog came along and the fenced lower garden was very convenient. Host David met us and got us oriented to the home quickly and efficiently. Kitchen is well stocked with good quality spices, oils and cooking utensils. We would definitely return here. The nicely furnished cottage was perfect for us and exploring the Community and surrounding areas made for a great getaway. Thank You David!

The cottage is a wonderfully special getaway!! The host is a professional who goes out of his way to make your stay comfortable and effortless. His attention to detail is amazing- so many thoughtful touches, including a welcoming bottle of wine and cheese and crackers! Barry is readily available for any questions about your stay; he also has great recommendations for best places and restaurants to visit. The cottage is charming and enchanting, just as is the city of Carmel by the Sea. The bed is very comfortable with upscale bedding, and the shower is large with great water pressure. There is a very nice washer and dryer below, as well as iron and ironing board. Cleanliness is A+. We could not have been more pleased with the accommodations. Do not hesitate to book your stay, you will love it!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Highlights: Gorgeous gardens, proximity to a beautiful beach, comfortable cottage near Hwy 1 & town of Carmel. The kitchen is small but adequate, as are the rooms, we prepared a few light meals in house. The bathroom I had was small, and I would have appreciated a handheld shower, tho was ok. The furniture is antique, it is lovely. If you enjoy a modern hotel this is probably not for you. Good experience eating and exploring through Carmel. We walked to the raw beauty of the beach each morning. Check out: La Biciccleta, Mission Ranch, Detjen’s. Our host, Krys, was great! Thank you Krys. The cottage was designed by the architect who also designed Hearst Castle. We would love to return on our next visit.

We’ve found our new fav for Carmel stays!! Super comfortable, quiet surroundings, and easy access to Junipero and restaurants. Still an easy walk to the beach as well.
