About susan

From the Navajo reservation, where I worked as a wilderness instructor, inviting the students to explore & experience the beauty of their reservation/ I traveled north to Montana to continue my schooling at MSU and join my family. Together with my family we acquired a beautiful & wild section of land and I have been here ever since.

Our children were born here and are now grown.

Now, my home is open to you!

susan purchased this estate in 1983

Why susan chose Bozeman

This is a magical place on the planet!

Its location is very secluded , where you are one with nature yet only 4 miles from downtown Bozeman.

What makes this estate unique

VIEWS! From the property you can see The Gallatin Range, The Spanish Peaks, The Tobacco Roots, The Bridgers!

The wild animals roam these hills.

It is magical to hear the snorting of the deer and the song of the coyotes, the cry of the night hawks, the coo of the horned owls.

This is a beautiful place to discover peace and solitude.

Beautiful views and cozy cabin

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 loved the peacefulness of this cabin and its proximity to both Bozeman and Livingston. You get the best of both worlds here. My daughters enjoyed playing at the pond, and we all enjoyed the sunsets from the deck each night. The cabin has everything you need.

Incredible Views and Location

  • 5 of 5

The photos of the property don't necessarily do it justice. The location was ideal for us, set in the scenic foothills of the Bridger Mountains just above Bozeman and within 10 minutes of eating, shopping, and other activities in town.

Susan was incredibly accommodating and helpful. She clearly loves the area and has given great care and attention to both the interior and the exterior of the house. The interior is warm and comfortable, with a well-stocked kitchen, comfortable beds in 3 bedrooms, and an open sitting area that offers great views of the surrounding area. Her place also has a covered area for outside eating, a huge wrap-around deck that is great for stargazing at night and extends to a sunken fire pit. There are many fine touches, both inside and out, including a beautiful garden of flowers that surrounds the house. A short walk away is a secluded pond, which is great for sunbathing, swimming, or kayaking. Add in her wonderful, friendly dog, Alta, and we couldn't have asked for more. For us, this place had everything we wanted for a relaxing respite at the end of a mountain vacation. We stayed for only 3 nights, but would have been happy for a week.

Most Wonderful Stay for our Family of 5!!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved our stay at this home! The cabin is so special, a home you can tell has been filled with love and has everything you could need for a wonderful vacation! The home is stocked with all the essentials, including some extras you wouldn't expect. The beds are comfortable, the space is spread out perfectly and the porches and views all around the house are breathtaking! The pond was a very special place as well, perfect for our family to swim, fish, relax and play and the bocce court was a hit for our boys and us! We also loved the resident dog Alta, what a treat to have a loving and playful companion some of the days, as our boys love dogs! Location is so convenient to Bozeman as well as surrounding areas, very easy to get to. We loved everything about this stay and cannot wait to go back someday! Thank you so much for sharing your home!

Gorgeous setting with easy access to Bozeman

  • 5 of 5

This was a beautiful, comfortable home for our family of 5. My boys enjoyed catching a few rainbow trout from the pond, and I enjoyed relaxing on the wraparound porch. The kitchen was well appointed and the home was charming, cozy and unique. We were very happy staying here.

Perfect Family Friendly Retreat in the Hills

  • 5 of 5

Our family of four had a great time staying at this cozy cabin on the hillside overlooking Bozeman. A rustic retreat away from it all, but still a quick drive to all that Bozeman has to offer and so close to the Bridger Bowl should we return for a ski trip in the future. The owners have thoughtfully furnished and stocked the house with everything you could need for a comfortable stay and even provided a few toys and books knowing that we had two toddlers. The pond, volleyball court, bocce court, and small summer cabin is just a short walk from the cabin and provides hours of endless fun. This cabin exudes all that is Montana - nature, relaxation, fresh air, and family fun - with owners that truly love where they live and want to share that with their visitors.

This section of property has been slowly & meticulously created into a luxury vacation area for the past 33 years.

The log/cottage is nestled into the hillside 600 ft above the Gallatin Valley. Perched above the historical camp ground of the Lewis & Clark/Sacajawea expedition of 1805.

The Pond:

The Ponds are spring fed/ the first two ponds act as filters for the acre size pond that is available for swimming, diving, canoeing, and tubing the day away.

The east side of the pond has a full size sand Volley Ball Court, sand Horse Shoe pit, full size sand Bocce Ball Court, 200' of beach, picnic tables with umbrellas, (room for a dozen tables), a cabin with a refrig, wood stove and a single bed platform.

On the south bank there is a deck tucked in the aspen grove/ from here you can absorb the beauty of the pond and the expansive, uninterrupted view of the Bridger Mountains.

A path through the aspen grove takes you along the west side of the pond and continues up to the Log/Cottage or back around to the beach.
