Creekside Chalet is a 1200 square foot 2 bedroom plus loft and 1 bathroom vacation home located in the Mt Hood National Forest. It is located 15 feet from a year round creek, 4 miles west of Government Camp, Oregon. There are beds for 6 upstairs and a futon couch that sleeps 2 downstairs. Also there are two futon chairs that fold flat into great kid beds. There is one of those located on each level. The bathroom has a large jetted tub and twin shower heads, dual vanities and custom copper sinks. I am a general contractor in Oregon and spent two years renovating this gem. The setting was perfect and the bones were strong, it just needed a lot of work and some modern updates. Every surface was either replaced or refinished. Quartz counters, custom hickory cabinets and a large farm house sink grace the kitchen. Custom carpentry and woodwork can be seen throughout. You don't see many cabins this nice and it will soon be featured in a local home magazine. Links will be posted as soon as the magazine is published.

I am a general contractor in Oregon and spent two years renovating this gem. The setting was perfect and the bones were strong, it just needed a lot of work and some modern updates. Every surface was either replaced or refinished. A Jacuzzi brand jetted tub was added to the bathroom. Quartz counters, custom hickory cabinets and a large farm house sink grace the kitchen. Cabin by the Creek
Loved staying at this wonderful property. Although there are a few other homes in the area, you feel very much 'in the woods'. The entire back side of the cabin is covered in windows overlooking the Zigzag, trees and ferns. Home is perfect for 4 adults. One night we had 6, which worked, too (however, there's only one bathroom so take that into consideration). Bill was very quick to answer all questions and make great suggestions on hikes, restaurants, points of interest, etc. Would definitely recommend to others and hope to return again and enjoy this magical place!
Very quiet and beautiful location
We loved our stay at this little cabin. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. One of the highlights was just opening the back door and listening to the babbling water. It’s pretty amazing to jump off of Highway 26 and just minutes later be in the middle of the woods like that! Lots of wonderful touches and well designed cabin. We’d stay there again!
We absolutely loved this cabin and it fit our family of four perfectly. It was clean, well stocked, warm and inviting. It was an easy drive to explore the mountain (for hikes, snowboarding, etc). What a beautiful, tranquil spot and we definitely plan to revisit!
Beautiful home, needs a little prep
This is a beautiful home in a great area on the bottom part of Mt. Hood. It's on a beautiful spot right on the Zig Zag River. Everyone enjoyed their stay and it housed everyone comfortably. There are plenty of blankets and pillows to choose from. It's close to HWY 26 with good snow tires or chains, and nothing on Mt. Hood is far from HWY 26.
The initial instructions provided were contradictory, pointing us to two different houses in the neighborhood. The correct instructions themselves were vague and advice or alternatives for the steep driveway, especially in winter, would have been appreciated. The house was unprepared for guests. The coffee maker didn't work, the sink drains were closed and we thought the pipes were frozen, and the oven was dirty. We baked in it and it stunk up the house - we cleaned it and it worked better. The blu-ray player wasn't plugged in, which was confusing at first, and we bought the house some measuring cups so we could actually cook.
Overall a nice home, and hopefully it'll only get even better.
I’ve never had any guests not be able to find our cabin. Directions are straightforward and very simple. When I heard the sinks were clogged and the coffee machine was broken I drove there myself and found that both of the bathroom sink drains in the closed position (which is how the housekeeper usually leaves them) but full of water. Opening the drains quickly emptied the sinks. The coffee machine lid needed to be fully shut and then it also functioned correctly. I replaced it anyway with an easier to use unit. I’m sorry our accommodations did not meet these guests’ standards. I wish them the best of luck in their future adventures.
Beautiful, clean, well equipped, comfortable beds, great communication from the owner.
This property was lovely, restful, and peaceful. We had a wonderful time being together in this beautiful cabin.
Cozy cottage w cool view
Great for our family of 4. Weather got a little shaky toward the end but owner was most helpful letting us park in one of his neighbors driveways.
This cabin is located just minutes from year round skiing. 4 miles from Government Camp and 3 minutes to great restaurants and bars. The setting is on a year round flowing creek with views of trees and water from every window.
