Great home on a great very quiet area of the island. Plenty of outdoor space for the kids and dogs to play. Really liked the wrap-around rear porch, we ate all our meals on the huge picnic table out there were worked out perfectly. Location is very close to Alley's General store which was great for grabbing odds and ends. Chillmark and beaches were an easy drive. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfy can't attest to the other beds, but there were no complaints from the rest of the family.
Another great stay up Island. Family of 4 with one small dog. Great stay everything in order and clean plenty of space and great laundry in the basement. Recommend the place highly! Easy to cook in and everything worked. Close to Grey Barn Allies and beaches. You should coordinate beach passes ahead as a lease might be required. Overall a great stay.
We had a wonderful time in this charming house! It was everything you could hope for in a Martha's Vineyard vacation. The house was beautifully kept, well stocked, and our hosts were kind and responsive. We will definitely be bringing our family here again!
The most wonderful, cozy home. The house is so quiet, perfect for a few days of relaxation on the island. The back deck was my favorite part, and the bed in the master bedroom was insanely comfortable. Can’t wait to return to this gem!
Absolutely beautiful property outside and in! Great deck in the back, outdoor shower, nestled in the woods. Four bedrooms and two full baths. Very accommodating and comfortable!
The house is in a perfect location in Chilmark close to beaches, trails, farms and the general store. The house is beautiful, clean, and well stocked. The owner Samantha is wonderful and has thought of everything one might need on a beach vacation.

Hi Nini! Thank you so much for the kinda review! I am always open to feedback and suggestions for ways to improve my guests stay :)
Samantha's house in Chilmark was another great week for us. Our family had a wonderful time there.
The privacy of the home, the proximity to the best beaches on the island, and the conveniences it provides are unmatched.
Thanks again for providing such a great way for us to enjoy our time on Martha's Vineyard!
This was in a great location and was a wonderful home. The house was neat and clean and provided all the amenities required for a pleasurable stay. My son Mitch surprised his girlfriend Colleen by proposing to her on the beach below Aquinnah Cliffs. She was so happy to have the whole family at the house after to celebrate with. We all loved it and the dogs were so happy to have room to roam the yard. Thanks great place highly recommend it.
The house was as-advertised and comfortably accommodated my adult relatives in its four bedrooms. Everything worked. The house was clean with no surprises.
Samantha was friendly and helpful when we talked with her. The VRBO app needs improvement, but the house was fine.
A fine vacation property, thoughtfully equipped. Plenty of towels, bed linens, comforters, everything you could want for the kitchen, including a coffee grinder. Vacation books and games, good TV reception, internet was fine, toys for little ones, high chairs, beach balls, beach chairs, outside clothesline, plenty of parking. Washer and dryer in the basement. It is located about a half-mile down a single-lane dirt road, nestled in a wooded area of similar houses. We were a senior, sibling-related group of four adults, so we had room to spare in the house. We didn't make much use of the deck and yard as we were on the go around the island, enjoying the sights and tastes easily accessed by car from the property, and our city relatives are afraid of mosquitoes. But if we'd had kids with us they would have had plenty of safe space for running around freely. Easily-remedied safety details that could use attention: bedroom smoke detectors had been removed; at the top of the stairs, because the first step is unusual in design, visitors could miss it visually--an additional railing and/or tape marking that step could avert possible vacation disaster. A perfectionist would note a few details that would bring the experience to five stars: replace torn window screens, wash the windows for the best outside views, supply facecloths. But the pros far outpace the cons: altogether, a very nice, well-located vacation house.

Hello Maureen,
Thank you for choosing my home for your stay. I wanted to respond to a few points in your review -
Face cloths: these are in the closet, if you had needed more than provided I wish you had asked.
Smoke and carbons: the old detectors had been removed and the mounting brackets were on the ceiling. The new ones are installed and to cude within the bedroom.
Your note about the upstairs windows makes sense! The pollen has been awful this season and they are due for another deep clean.
Screens: i'm actually at the house this week for a stay with my family. I'm having a hard time finding screens with major tears. Because the screens are very frequently damaged by guests, i've taken to patching them when needed instead of the complete repairs. Ill make sure any small holes are patched again!
This is the third summer in a row that we’ve stayed in this home. It’s something we look forward to and can’t wait to get back again next year!
The house has everything you need, including cozy bedrooms, outdoor shower, grill, flat back yard for lawn games and an amazing location close to Lucy Vincent Beach.
The host is super helpful i ensuring that we have everything we need for an amazing week in Martha’s Vineyard.
We had a wonderful week in this Chilmark gem! Such a peaceful location! Plenty or room for a family of 4+ to be comfortable. Property is just as advertised and shown in the pictures. Great communication from the host. We will definitely return!
We were in Chilmark for a family wedding and this was the perfect spot for 6 adults to sleep comfortably in a relaxing environment and clean home. There was an additional room to spare and it had all the amenities we needed for a long weekend stay
Samantha's house is a clean, comfortable cute house on quiet road in the woods. Adirondack chairs were lovely to relax in for morning coffee. The house was perfect for our annual family trip to Chilmark. Great location ... perfect launching pad to explore upisland. West Tisbury: Alley's, Field Gallery, Saturday and Wednesday Farmers Markets; Middle Road (magical, winding country road with stone walls and beautiful vistas running between W. Tisbury and Chilmark. Quintessential upland. Amazing to bike if you like hills!) Manuel Correllus state park with its mostly flat bike path (great for kids!), Lucy Vincent beach, Menemsha, Lobsterville and Aquinnah are all easily accessible. Upisland Cronigs, the local grocery store has almost everything you could need and is just a few minutes away by car.
Everything was as described in the listing, and Samantha was wonderfully communicative. Thanks, Samantha for allowing us the opportunity to visit your home!
Our multi generational family had a great stay. The house is down a dirt road in the middle of the woods so it was very peaceful and relaxing, just be prepared to drive a bit to food, groceries, etc. The host was very helpful and responsive to questions. We definitely recommend this property!
We had a wonderful time at this sweet house. Plenty of room for 6 people, close to Alley's, the Grey Barn (for delicious cheese...) and a short walk or drive to beautiful trails and the beach.
This is our second year in a row staying at Samantha’s fantastic property in Chillmark.
It’s the best spot on MV to explore from.
The home itself is well laid out, is super quiet and has no neighbors nearby, allowing for a very relaxing experience.
Samantha is super responsive to any questions that need to be addressed.
We’ll be returning again to this property once again in the future, for sure.

About the host
Hosted by Samantha
I am a 3rd generation islander. My grandfather, father and my younger brother were/are commercial fishermen in Menemsha. I always dreamed of having property of my own here. I love the quiet escape and laidback nature of Chilmark, the resident only beaches and the miles of conservation land and trails for exploring. I think this is the perfect location for relaxing, slowing down and enjoying the natural beauty of the island.
Why they chose this property
My home is comfortable, modest, peaceful, and clean. It's located down a long dirt road, on a private wooded lot which is a nice escape from the city. We are close to some of the best private beaches on the island! This is the perfect place to get away from it all and relax. Be warned that cell service is spotty and our internet (xfinity) can be tempermental but we're improving it each year as the company/road association allows.
What makes this property unique
Chilmark Beaches! Wooded 3 acre lot down a dirt road. Close to tons of hiking trails, the private town beaches and great restaurants. The fishing village of Menemsha is just a few minutes away and has some of the best local fresh caught fish and the most amazing sunsets.
