About Property Manager/Owner
We are the Goodmans!
Property Manager/Owner purchased this Cabin in 2015
Why Property Manager/Owner chose Custer
For many years we have loved the Custer SD area and, when we got the opportunity to purchase our vacation home, Laughing Water Cabin, we jumped at the chance! We purchased it as a family and we love to share it with others when we can't be there to enjoy it ourselves.
What makes this Cabin unique
We found our vacation home one day as we were hiking the Mickelson Trail. It was situated in a nice quiet little area with deer and wild turkeys roaming about. Once we took a look at the inside of the house we were sold! It's located close to anything you need to do in town and centrally located in the Black Hills so that you can enjoy ALL the Black Hills have to offer!

South Dakota Weekend Getaway
Custer is so close to many great South Dakota sights and this beautiful cabin is just what we needed to make our stay special. Very clean and beautifully decorated.
We're so glad you enjoyed your weekend getaway at Laughing Water! It would be our pleasure to have you stay with us again anytime!
Wonderfully close to all the sites and town but very quiet at night. Loved watching the deer and wild turkeys! The cabin was very nice and comfortable.
Thank you for your kind words. We're glad you enjoyed your trip to The Black Hills. We hope you'll come and stay with us again sometime!
Great Place to Stay
We stayed at Creekside for a week and would go back in a heartbeat. The cabin had everything we needed to make food and prepare for everything that we did. It was also very comfortable for the day we spent inside due to rain. The location is great in Custer. Close to many attractions, hiking trails, and restaurants but still quit and peaceful.
Thanks for the great review! We're glad you enjoyed your stay at Laughing Water and look forward to you coming to stay again!
Charming & relaxing!
Stayed for 4 days/3 nights in this cabin. It is beautiful inside and very inviting. Perfect base camp for exploring around the Black Hills. We grilled every night and soaked in the hot tub after the day's adventures. The kitchen is well stocked: blender, waffle maker, griddle, drip coffee maker. Hard to believe this quiet & peaceful location is in town. Highly recommend!
The location was great! Amenities were perfect and hot tub was a fun bonus to enjoy at the end of our days exploring the Black Hills! We will definitely come back to this cabin in the future. :)
Thanks for your feedback. We're glad you enjoyed your time at Laughing Water and in The Hills! Hope to have you stay again soon.
Very nice house in a beautiful area
Very nice house, clean and well kept. We were there for Sturgis bike week and while we enjoy the festivities that go along with it we also enjoy being away from it at night which is exactly what we got. After a day of riding the area and seeing the many sites it was nice to come back to the cabin at night and just kick back and relax with peace and quiet. Custer has some nice places to have any of your meals out or you can use the well equipped kitchen. Overall a nice place to stay and would highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area.
Thank you so much...we're glad you enjoyed The Rally and your stay at Laughing Water! We appreciate your comments and would love to have you stay again on your next visit to The Hills!
Custer is located centrally in the Black Hills. You can find many things to do in Rapid City (45 miles), Hot Springs (30 miles), Lead/Deadwood (50 miles), Spearfish Canyon (52 miles), Hill City (13 miles), Keystone (20 miles) or in Custer State Park (Iron Mountain Rd Scenic Drive, Needles Highway Scenic Drive, Wildlife Loop Drive). So many things to do that I can't mention them all here...
