About Property Manager/Owner
We are the Goodmans!
Property Manager/Owner purchased this Cabin in 2015
Why Property Manager/Owner chose Custer
For many years we have loved the Custer SD area and, when we got the opportunity to purchase our vacation home, Laughing Water Cabin, we jumped at the chance! We purchased it as a family and we love to share it with others when we can't be there to enjoy it ourselves.
What makes this Cabin unique
We found our vacation home one day as we were hiking the Mickelson Trail. It was situated in a nice quiet little area with deer and wild turkeys roaming about. Once we took a look at the inside of the house we were sold! It's located close to anything you need to do in town and centrally located in the Black Hills so that you can enjoy ALL the Black Hills have to offer!

Beautiful place, great location!
We loved our stay in this cabin, very clean and beautifully decorated! It is in the perfect area (a couple of blocks from Main Street in a quiet neighborhood) and close to all the sites we wanted to see - Custer State Park, Crazy Horse, Mount Rushmore and Hill City (check out Alpine Inn Steakhouse for a great meal). It has all the amenities needed plus a soothing hot tub and fire pit in the back yard. We enjoyed watching the deer and rabbits in the late afternoons. Thanks for a great stay, really felt like home away from home!
Thank you so much for the nice comments. We're so glad you enjoyed your time at Laughing Water Cabin! Please come back and stay again when you return to The Hills.
Very nice house in a beautiful area
Very nice house, clean and well kept. We were there for Sturgis bike week and while we enjoy the festivities that go along with it we also enjoy being away from it at night which is exactly what we got. After a day of riding the area and seeing the many sites it was nice to come back to the cabin at night and just kick back and relax with peace and quiet. Custer has some nice places to have any of your meals out or you can use the well equipped kitchen. Overall a nice place to stay and would highly recommend it to anyone staying in the area.
This is great little cabin, enjoyed it a lot!!!!
This cabin is very well taken care of, in a great location. Was equipped with everything you need plus some you might not have thought of. We enjoyed it a lot and I am sure we will be back!!!
Thank you so much. We're glad you enjoyed Laughing Water Cabin! We'll be happy to have you stay with us again!!
Perfect place to relax after seeing the beauty of the Black Hills
This house more than met my expectations. Clean, modern, comfortable and perfect for this grandma, grandpa and grandson. We are already thinking about next time.
The kitchen has everything needed to cook meals when you need to. The waffle maker was a pleasant surprise.
The beds were comfy and plenty of living room seating.
The hot tub was a favorite of us all.
Thank you for allowing us to be at home in your home.
Thank you so much...we're glad you had a good time. We'll look forward to having you come and stay again on your next trip to The Hills!!
Perfect little gem!
Beautiful cabin! Very inviting and well stocked. Hot tub was a real plus in the evenings after walking all day. Grill was very nice also. The cabin was located in the perfect spot which made it very easy to get to everything we wanted to do and see. Downtown Custer was quaint and beautiful! Everywhere we went people were very friendly and helpful. Loved the restaurants and the Museum courthouse is a must see! Would recommend this rental property to anyone! Beautiful area with lots to do and see! The deer in the yard were delightful! If ever coming to this area again would not hesitate to stay here again.
Thank you so much for your nice comments. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay. We'll look forward to having you stay with us again!
Very comfortable 2 bedroom home away from home with everything we needed.
We had a 5 night stay with our 16 & 17 year old grandsons. We had every comfort we needed - 4 comfortable reclining places to sit, large screen TV, good WiFi, a nice dining/game table, modern full kitchen, boys especially liked the hot tub. I loved all the windows and all the light fixtures that made for more sunny conditions even when it wasn't so sunny. We got to use the firepit one night as it was the only night it didn't rain! We saw deer in the yard every day. It was very private even though it is right in Custer. We had some trouble with the water heater and they had a plumber there right away to fix it. We decided it would be nice to have room darkening shades in the bedrooms - gets light really early for teenagers!
We're so glad you enjoyed your time at Laughing Water Cabin! So glad we could resolve your water issue promptly. We appreciate all your feedback. ☺
Custer is located centrally in the Black Hills. You can find many things to do in Rapid City (45 miles), Hot Springs (30 miles), Lead/Deadwood (50 miles), Spearfish Canyon (52 miles), Hill City (13 miles), Keystone (20 miles) or in Custer State Park (Iron Mountain Rd Scenic Drive, Needles Highway Scenic Drive, Wildlife Loop Drive). So many things to do that I can't mention them all here...
