Cozy, Relaxing and Convenient

Very comfortable place with everything you need, plus chickens in the yard. Stayed here with my daughter and we both enjoyed it. I would stay here again.

Great Getaway in SLC

We enjoyed this little cottage. It was great for the weekend family getaway. Property manager was VERY communicative. We had everything we needed to know before entering. Also mada a great stay because they have so many little perks from items in the kitchen to bath and she had the beds made to what we needed.

Cozy and relaxing

We had a wonderful stay in this sweet little guest house, and Rachel was a perfect host. We were in town visiting our son who is at the U, and the location was ideal. He also commented on how much he enjoyed hanging out with us, he said it felt like home. We will be back!

Cozy and relaxing

The hosts prioritize their guests' comfort. The cottage is well stocked and has those extras that you don't think you need until you actually need them. Although the guesthouse is in the backyard, the front door faces away from the owner's home, so you feel a sense of privacy. The hosts are gracious and communicate quickly when you have a question. The setting is relaxing and peaceful.

Relaxing atmosphere

I was looking for a little weekend getaway with my wife when I found this. I was a little apprehensive at first when I saw this was actually in someone's backyard but the reviews were very positive so I decided to try it. I was not disappointed. Communication with the hosts was great and they were very accommodating. It's apparent that they want their guests to enjoy their visit. We were very impressed with how well stocked the cottage was. All of the basics and more. It was a nice change from some of our previous experiences. I definitely recommend this place for anyone for any reason.

Nice Getaway in the city

This was a nice little guest house that was fully furnished and had everything that we needed for our stay. There was a living room, bathroom, kitchen, dining area, and little den. It was all that we needed and it was close to the city and activities. Well worth the stay!

Urban cabin in the woods…

My wife and I enjoyed a cabin like experience in this neighborhood property that sits in the large back yard behind the owners home. Perfect place for a couple to chill while visiting the city. Neat and clean.

Excellent choice for a vacation

The rental was a very nice guest house in the backyard of the property. Easy access with a driveway able to fit 3-4 cars easily. The hosts were nice and accommodating. I would absolutely consider renting here again!

Great access for skiing

This property has great access to the highways to get to the ski resorts both the 4 on the west side and the ones on the east. We had great road conditions for all drives and were parking in 40 minutes or less. The hosts were awesome accessible for questions but not intrusive. The property was very clean, and cleanliness was a concern of the hosts.

Great stay, poor sleep.

We loved everything about our stay, except the beds. They are poor quality mattresses that are rock hard. Hopefully, the owners will invest in some decent mattresses so the next customer will get some rest. All of us definitely woke up tired everyday. Other than that; clean property and quiet.

Quiet Spot In A Quaint Neighborhood

We were in Salt Lake for a Spartan race and wanted a quiet, comfortable place to relax and recover when we weren't on the course or exploring the area. Rachel's place was perfect for us. She left us alone, provided everything we needed, and even let us check out a little later than planned so we could sleep a little longer. Perfect place for a couple to use as home base for exploring and relaxing afterwards. Rachel is awesome. The location is awesome. Just book it already! Much love, Jason + Cristina

Perfect Cottage for Trip with Young Family

Our family of 5 was interested in renting for a few nights to visit several attractions in Salt Lake City. This property was perfect! It is very close to all the parks and museums we wanted to visit. The owners were very responsive to our requests for sleeping arrangements and anticipated things we may need. The check-in and check-out process was very simple. The cottage itself was cozy and had lots of beautiful natural light. It was perfect for our needs.

Thoughtful details galore!

The cottage is clean, roomy, private. Excellent access to local attractions. Such incredible anticipation of our needs. Well supplied with kitchen tools, pantry staples, bottled water, ice packs to borrow, books, toiletries, extra blankets, information on local attractions, and coupons. We very much appreciated the rigorous precautions taken in preparing the cottage for our arrival to protect us from possible exposure to COVID -19.

David and Rachel Ng are excited to welcome you! David works nearby at the University and we will be at home during your stay. You might hear our kids if the windows are open, or see us out enjoying the yard. We will be close by if you need anything.

We are a couple of young folks with old fashioned tastes. We enjoy hospitality, learning obscure things, and extreme DIY projects. David has a passion for tools, and Rachel thinks that comes in handy. Rachel is an artist, and David enjoys her traditional style. David has a large homemade telescope, so you might catch us outside after dark admiring Saturn or Jupiter. David can speak Cantonese; Rachel was once fairly fluent in ASL but has sadly forgotten much of it.

Sugarhouse is conveniently located close to many of the main attractions you may be coming to Salt Lake City for. We have a guide book in the house detailing a list of free activities and things to see. It is a quick zip downtown, an easy jump onto the freeway, or a short trip into the mountains.
People from other regions may not be familiar with the health risks of radon, which seeps naturally from the ground and can become trapped in houses. It is very common in mountain areas. We have a radon mitigation system under the house, running 24/7.

The property is in a quiet neighborhood which is mostly level and great for walks. We love that we are able to host guests on our property in their own house. It was built into the back of the original garage. It has its own heater and water heater. The property also has a water softener and surge protection.
We are happy to welcome two adults and their children, or up to 4 adults if they are ok with the "spare" beds. We do not currently charge any extra fee per person.
