Paradise in Cocles, near Beach, perfectly equipped and spacious Home

The house is beautifully offset from the main road in a tranquil area near the Cocles beach (300m away).
Four people can be comfortably accommodated in the apartment, which has a large terrace, including a hammock.

Guest Access
Towels, beach towel, bed-linen, fully-equipped kitchen, wireless internet are included. Access to washing machine upon request. A small crib for a baby is also available.

Interaction with Guests
We will be in contact before your arrival. I will send you a Video with all the instructions for your self check-in. During your stay, our manger Elena is your direct contact on site.

The house is situated in a tranquil and safe neighborhood, the background sounds are those of the ocean and rain forest chirps.

Getting Around
In Puerto Viejo, Cocles:
Bike rental is available nearby, and taxi is cheap. Walking the beach is precious and for free.
We have space for two cars in the parking lot.

From San José:
You can take a flight to Limon, book a shared shuttle or a private van. Also getting here with the public bus it's easy and cheap. Ask us, we are happy to help you with your booking.

Beautiful home and great location!

We stayed for 8 days and it was so relaxing. Short walk to the beach, 7 min drive to Puerto Viejo (a vibrant town) and easy access to the Caribbean coast. If we are ever in Costa Rica again, we will stay here.

Beautiful home in tropical paradise

Felt like we were in a tree house! Decorated with tropical colors and flair! Open areas with views of the beautiful tropical plant/trees, as well as observing /enjoying the birds and butterflies . We could hear the waves crashing on the beach which added to the ambiance and to the whole tropical experience! Home was clean,beds comfortable,plush towels,lovely bathrooms and fully equipped kitchen. So pleased we rented Villa Laurel!

Great and relaxing experience

We had a lovely stay of 10 days in Vila Laurel. The house is very spacious and perfect for a family, especially the master bedroom is and the huge terrass were amazing. Nadja and Julius are great hosts and they made us feel welcome and comfortable during the whole stay. Nadja also has a lot of experience from the tourism sector making her a great source of knowledge for what to do (and even more important, what to not do) when visiting Costa Rica. If we get the chance to return to Puerto Viejo and Cocles, we would not hesitate staying with them again.

Simply the best!

A gem in the jungle. The best station we have had in our long traveller life. The upper flor unit is situated in a light and safe area, some houses in the neighbourhood, the police station, a small hotel, 2 big dogs in the house, very fiendly to us ...We were impressed of the quality of the materials and the furniture, the giant patio, the wooden floors; the kitchen is fully equipped and you`ll not miss anything. The rooms are wonderful breezy and we never missed an ac. To Puerto Viejo downtown 5 - 10 minutes, to the next supermarket 2 minutes and to the endless Cocles beach 5 minutes walking distance. The renters, Nadja and Julius are multitalented in languages(English, German, Spanish, Italian, Swedish). They live with their little son Loris in the ground floor and were a great enrichement for our stay. A wonderful week in December 2015.

Unforgetable!

This was my first experience using HomeAway and now I am hooked. We stayed in this jungle paradise for the first half of our family vacation in Costa Rica. There was myself, my husband and our 2 children (8 and 11). From the time that we arrived until the time we left, Nadja and Julius were the perfect hosts. They were very helpful, while at the same time gave us all the privacy we desired. The home itself is immaculate! I truly felt like I was in paradise...I love the open concept. It is walking distance to stores and beaches, but remains nestled back in the jungle - surrounded by nature! It was so beautiful, that it left our next location pale in comparison. I would highly recommend the area as there is so much to do...surfing, beautiful black sand beaches, wildlife rescue centre, jungle tours, wildlife parks, and the list goes on. The people were extremely friendly and the vibe is very laid back. If we go back to Costa Rica again I will definitely be staying here for the majority of the trip and I would recommend it to anyone! Thank you for helping us to have the most amazing vacation Nadja and Julius! I wish your beautiful family all the best and I hope to visit again some day. Josie

Well equipped property and good communication with manager

The property was very well equipped, maintained and located. We really enjoyed our stay and Tamara the onsite manager was very responsive, pleasant and helpful. Prior to our stay we had good communications with the owner and were very pleased overall. Total pura vida. Extra points for El Gato de la casa super lindo.

Outstanding property!

We had a wonderful time at Villa Laurel. The home is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The open air feeling is very nice. The terrace is large and so fun to just relax. I especially liked all of the beautiful lamps. The beds are very comfortable and the main shower is nice and large. All of the extras that were provided were great. Fruit and a bottle of wine greeted us when we arrived. Tamara was so nice and kind. I loved her little daughter Yara. Tamara gave us a ride into town, got groceries for us and arranged our shuttle back to San Jose. If I had to pick one thing that was a little hard it would be the barking of the dogs, but I understand that they are there for security. I would highly recommend this place.

An Oasis in Paradise

Great place in a great area. Conveniently located across from Cocles Beach (5 min walk) and just minutes by car to Playa Uva and Playa Grande. Communications and booking were easy. Directions were ok, but we would have had troubles without a GPS. Tamara met us as soon as we pulled up to the gate and got us parked and settled. The place was immaculate with all the amenities we needed. There is no A/C but it was not required - the shaded jungle setting with the wide open layout always had a gentle breeze blowing through the entire unit. It may have been an unusual March, but there was not a mosquito or annoying bug to be found - but we did sleep with the bug netting down to be safe. The spacious, open eating/living area was perfect for relaxing between beach visits and relaxing meals. Overall...... a great stay and highly recommended.

Outstanding Southeast Costa Rican Experience

We felt very safe and comfortabe after Tamara explained the fierce nightly jungle noises to be merely Howler monkeys. She is such a delight along with her family and two friendly guard dogs. This truly is an wonderful retreat in the jungle to experience.. Only issues were 3 days of extraordinary rainfall which left a very damp feeling and the clothes dryer which left some of our cloths with grease marks. We found souththeastern Costa Rican people to be exceptionally sincere, with a high work ethic and a strong desire to please. Villa Laurel was an exceptional experience.

Die Wohnung ist ein Traum, wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Wir haben unsere Reise hier begonnen (6 Übernachtungen) und sind danach noch 3 Wochen weitergereist- diese Wohnung war mit Abstand die Beste, die wir hatten und das Beste, was uns passieren konnte: das Ambiente ist wunderschön, die Wohnung sehr sauber und die Ausstattung ist top- es ist für alles bis ins Detail gesorgt, die Küche ist komplett ausgestattet (inklusive geschärfter Messer!), der Holzboden und die Möbel wunderschön. Nadja und Julius setzen als präsente und verbindliche Gastgeber dieser Wohnung noch das Sahnehäubchen auf! Herzlichen Dank für die schöne Zeit bei euch und die vielen Tipps- und Nadja noch einmal vielen Dank an dich für die informative Führung durch das Jaguar Rescue Center (und von Nimo: die Begegnung mit den Affen). Ihr habt maßgeblich dazu beigetragen, dass unser Urlaub super war!!! Nimo y Ute

Unübertrefflich

Als weitgereistes Paar - Anfang 60 - verbrachten wir eine Woche in der Villa Laurel. Sofort waren wir von der hochwertigen Ausstattung und der überraschenden Architektur begeistert. Wer hat schon ein nach drei Seiten offenes Wohnzimmer, eher ein riesiger Balkon von vielleicht 40 qm gesehen? Die beherrschenden dunklen Holzböden, die vielfache Verwendung von Naturverkleidungen und die warmen Farben wirkten edel und geschmackvoll, liebevoll bis ins Detail ausgesucht und in bestem Zustand, auch die Möbel. In der offenen Küche gab es nichts was fehlen hätte können, fast ein Überfluß an Gerätschaften. Wir haben uns sehr sicher gefühlt. Nicht nur wegen des echten Safe, sondern auch wegen der benachbarten Tourismus-Polizei-Station und den beiden großen Hunden, denen wir am Anfang "vorgestellt" worden sind und die uns dann bei der täglichen Rückkehr freudig begrüßt haben. Das Anwesen liegt höchstens 200 m von der endlosen Playa Cocles entfernt, der nächste Supermarkt ist zu Fuß erreichbar. Es liegt im Dschungel, der ringsherum gelichtet ist, sodaß keine drückende Atmosphäre entstehen kann. Das Haus ist einfach licht und luftig. Nadja und Julius sind wunderbare Gastgeber und haben uns mit Ihrem Baby - Ihrem Sonnenschein Loris - erfreut. Pia und Roman

Sehr empfehlenswert!!!

Wir durften 4 Wochen das komfortable, mit viel Liebe eingerichteten Haus geniessen. Welch Vergnügen am Morgen, in der Loggia, den Tier- und Vogelstimmen zu lauschen, die Schmetterlinge beobachten und die Seele baumeln zu lassen. Die Gastgeber gaben uns gute Tipps für Tagesausflüge und Sehenswertes.
