Overview

About the property

Beautiful Setting, Beautiful Home! Come Make A Memory With Your Family!

The house itself is truly unique. A work of art by the owner, the details make this a place to remember. From the hand-cut burl-lined staircase to the bench swing hanging from the living room rafters to the loft bed that looks out of a skylight, kids and adults will have a wonderful time exploring this house.

The large kitchen has plenty of room for everyone to help prepare meals. The bar features a glass-topped terrarium filled with starfish, sand dollars, shells, rocks - see what you can find! The wall of windows lets you enjoy the view from wherever you are. The living room features a bench swing hanging from the rafters and a cozy wood-burning stove.

The master bedroom offers a hand-make king bed, large soaking tub, and oversized steam shower. Enjoy the view from the wrap-around windows in this room as well.

The loft area sleeps two more on a futon, and has a foosball table for play time. The kids bunk room accommodates six (two double beds, top single bunk, and single loft bed that looks out the skylight). The kids will want to rock/paper/scissors for the star-gazing spot!

Outside, there is a whole world to explore. The large deck offers lots of views to enjoy, or wander down one of the trails on the large property. There is a large BBQ for your dinner steaks, then a fire pit for later in the evening when it's time to roast some marshmallows.

When you're ready for an adventure down the hill, check out Whaleshead Beach, less than a mile away. Hiking trails follow the coastline most of the way to Brookings, or head north for other options.

Very nice place!

  • 5 of 5

A very peaceful setting and close to everything. A very quiet cabin in the woods! We had the time of our life! The cabin's location is close to the most beautiful coastline scenes on 101! The kitchen is absolutely wonderful and we loved the shower/sauna!. I would suggest a rug gripper under the kitchen sink rug so it doesn't slide around! :)

Beautiful Cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at this cabin. Our family of 8 fit perfectly. The kids loved the triple bunk and it was fun having them all stay in the same room. We were close enough to visit the Redwoods and the beach. We loved Whaleshead beach and it is only a couple of minutes from the cabin.

The views from the deck were beautiful, it was such a fun week for our family!

What a find!

  • 5 of 5

We decided to take a total last minute beach trip with friends to beat the Southern Oregon heat, and boy were we surprised and thrilled to find this little gem. What a cool beach/forest cabin! The living room swing says it all :)

Excellent, Peaceful, Secluded

  • 5 of 5

This is a great home base for exploring the Oregon Coast and Northern California sights. We were here for the better part of a week. Extremely comfortable, beautiful setting and great proximity to a multitude of activities. We hope to stay here again some day and would highly recommend it for families that love the outdoors.

We loved staying here and hope to return someday.

It was really enjoyable watching the bunnies munch on clover and a deer bedded down. The sunset over the ocean was fabulous. The house has wonderful details that will be enjoyed by all.

Unique, beautiful, remote

  • 5 of 5

The "cabin" is as beautiful as the photos show. The kitchen is well-appointed, light and air flow outstanding. The double swing with foot support and drink holders is brilliant, suspended from one of the tree trunk support beams in the living room. There's a kid's table and chairs and lots of kid's toys, including a great sounding xylophone and Frustration Game which my grandson was fascinated with. The master suite is beyond wonderful, with a steam shower, huge tub surrounded by windows, walk-in closet, lovely queen bed with country-flavored quilt and an adorable child-size bed. The second floor sleeps up to 7 people with a queen bed, double and single bunk beds, a fold down futon and skylight "loft" bed. The deck is large but overlooks mostly blackberry bushes. However, there is a view of the ocean about 3/4 mile away as the crowd flies. There were plenty of plates, silverware, glasses and chairs for 13 people to have dinner.

I would have appreciated a more thorough cleaning of the skylight loft and the futon area on the second floor but the rest of the cabin was very clean. There was no fitted sheet I could find for the futon bed. It would be nice if you provided that. While the emails leading up to day of departure were clear that soap and shampoo for bathing would not be supplied, I am so accustomed to having toiletries available, I forgot to pack ithem and so did others. I would like the owners to provide these items, but it's certainly not a make it or break it issue.

On balance, we all loved the cabin and had a wonderful time there. I would use it again for a large crowd in a heart beat.

This cabin is located about six miles north of Brookings - close enough to run in for groceries and far enough to get away from it all. It is in a very quiet setting with lots of outdoor activities in the area. The beach is just down the hill (about a mile) and there are lots of hiking trails and beaches within a few minutes drive.
