The house itself is truly unique. A work of art by the owner, the details make this a place to remember. From the hand-cut burl-lined staircase to the bench swing hanging from the living room rafters to the loft bed that looks out of a skylight, kids and adults will have a wonderful time exploring this house.
The large kitchen has plenty of room for everyone to help prepare meals. The bar features a glass-topped terrarium filled with starfish, sand dollars, shells, rocks - see what you can find! The wall of windows lets you enjoy the view from wherever you are. The living room features a bench swing hanging from the rafters and a cozy wood-burning stove.
The master bedroom offers a hand-make king bed, large soaking tub, and oversized steam shower. Enjoy the view from the wrap-around windows in this room as well.
The loft area sleeps two more on a futon, and has a foosball table for play time. The kids bunk room accommodates six (two queen beds, top single bunk, and single loft bed that looks out the skylight). The kids will want to rock/paper/scissors for the star-gazing spot!
Outside, there is a whole world to explore. The large deck offers lots of views to enjoy, or wander down one of the trails on the large property. There is a large BBQ for your dinner steaks, then a fire pit for later in the evening when it's time to roast some marshmallows.
When you're ready for an adventure down the hill, check out Whaleshead Beach, less than a mile away. Hiking trails follow the coastline most of the way to Brookings, or head north for other options.
