The property features two unique accommodation options: a two-story oceanfront building with four individual apartments and a detached two-bedroom cottage, which is rented separately as described below. Each accommodation is thoughtfully designed to provide comfort, convenience, and privacy, creating the perfect setting for family vacations, reunions, retreats, and group getaways.
Outdoor Amenities: Guests can relax on the spacious, beautifully maintained oceanfront lawn lined with swaying coconut palms. The outdoor area features gas grills, picnic tables, lounge chairs, and seating areas perfect for gatherings, sunset dinners, or quiet moments by the ocean. The beach is peaceful and highly private, offering breathtaking sunsets just steps from the property.
The nearby shoreline is ideal for snorkeling, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding, wind and kite surfing, pole fishing, shell collecting, and more. Hawaiian sea turtles are frequently seen resting along the shoreline, and during whale season, guests may even spot whales passing offshore. Ocean and beach equipment can be rented from several nearby shops in town. While we do not provide beach gear, guests do have access to coolers, lawn chairs, BBQ facilities, and beach towels for added convenience during their stay.

Each beachfront apartment includes a private entrance, kitchen, and bathroom, allowing guests to enjoy comfort and independence throughout their stay. All apartments are oceanfront, and the shoreline is located approximately 75 feet from the backyard. Please note that stairs are required to access all apartments, including the lower-level apartments, as well as the cottage, backyard, and beach area.

Effective 1/23/26: There is daytime construction taking place on a neighboring property. Most guests find it minimally disruptive and continue to enjoy peaceful mornings and evenings during their stay.

If your group exceeds 15 guests, the detached cottage must also be reserved. Maui County rental permit regulations allow a maximum of two guests per bedroom, including children over the age of two. Children under two years old do not count toward this occupancy limit.
If you use Instant Booking for a group exceeding 15 guests, the cottage will not automatically be included in your reservation. Instead, it will be added separately through a payment request at a rate of $350 per night plus an additional $250 cleaning fee.

Great location and beach access! My family of 8 adults and 6 children had a wonderful time. The host, Michael, was available and helpful from my booking until the end of our stay.

This place was PERFECT for our family of 13! The listing does not do it justice! They have all the water shoes, beach toys, and snorkeling gear you could need. Plus the setting is so perfect that you will never want to leave. The icing on the cake is Mike the host who is a real gem. Everything about this property made our Maui vacation unforgettable! The location of this place could not have been better. The absolute best backyard, great beach area, walkable to several restaurants, coffee, groceries. We had plenty of space for our group of 12. (7 kids age 7-17.) We found everything you need for a beach vacation there, including beach toys, chairs, umbrellas, towels, water shoes, snorkel gear, a kayak and paddle boards.We were so grateful for all of these, and they added so much value and convenience to our vacation. We woke up every day and were able to see whales breaching in the distance from the beach and in the evening we took a 10 minute stroll and found many sea turtles basking in the sand! We found the photos of the listing to be accurate. While the units are not the most updated or luxurious, they were all clean, spacious, comfortable and everything we needed. Mike was the best host- offering great local recommendations and wonderful conversations! We are so thankful and grateful for the time we got to spend at this place!

This is a great location with the beach steps from the back door. Mike is an excellent host, sharing many tips on places to visit plus a pie our last night. There were turtles on the beach daily and we even got to see a Monk seal. There were 11 of us ranging from 5 years to senior adult and we were all happy with the property and location.
This was the most amazing home! We had 5 families with kids ages 3-16 and everyone had a blast. The private beach made for amazing sunrises and sunsets and the kids had plenty of fun playing volleyball and swimming! It’s close to Kamaole beaches and a many restaurants! Try Pizza Madness! It’s a quick walk across the Main Road. This is going to be our family vacation home for years to come! Thank you Mike and Family for an amazing visit in Maui! A hui hou kākou!
The property was gorgeous, tucked back into a quiet corner of the neighborhood, and just feet from a beautiful beach. All of the rooms were well furnished, and provided ample space for our family to stay. We highly recommended the property for large families, or groups of friends, and are looking forward to the next chance we can visit again.
We stayed for 7 days and 6 nights with 4 families and a total of 12 people. It was a great stay! Low key area and building. Lots of beach equipment included in rental. It is an older unit, so don't expect luxury. Expect to have a great time on a semi-private beach, large back yard, and beautiful sunsets.
The vacation home and Mike being our host made our family vacation exceptional. The home was clean, beautiful and the ocean in the backyard was just amazing. Loved walking the beach at night to see all the turtles. Mike was always helping us out with any questions we had and recommendations. Giving us delicious banana bread a couple times was so generous. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer place to stay or a better host.
Each family had their own unit with kitchen and bathroom. Beautiful beach location with plenty of on-site activities. Easy walk to dining and shopping. The host Michael was fabulous, very responsive and friendly. We couldn’t have found a more perfect location for our family vacation!
The grounds and the beach access was amazing! Our four families each had lots of outdoor space for hanging out together, and the luxury of privacy in our own separate space when needed. The host, Michael, was gracious and available. I would absolutely stay here again. Mahalo, Michael.

He provides so much helpful information about where to visit while in Maui! It really makes it hard to come back to reality after a stay as nice as this.

Al’s six children were born in the islands and raised on Maui where they grew up on Halama Street. The beach was their backyard where they learned to swim, fish, dive, and surf. They picked and ate the ogo (seaweed) that washed upon the beach and also spent hours picking various shells and the famous puka shells for handmade necklaces. At night it was campouts, sand crab hunting on the beach, or star gazing at the star filled sky above. We attended the one and only schools nearby, Kihei Elementary School. There were only two small family owned stores back then throughout kihei area. Much has changed since then, but this hidden gem at Halama Street will forever hold fond memories. Aloha and Mahalo Nui! Over the years, Kihei has grown to be very populated with homes, condos, vacation rentals, and resorts. There are longtime residents and visitors from all around the world who enjoy the Kihei surroundings. There are many beaches, parks, restaurants and shopping establishments throughout Kihei. Al’s Paradise is located on Halama Street; in a cozy, peaceful and quiet area hidden from the hustle and bustle of busy Kihei. It is also very close to all that Maui has to offer.

The beach is right in your backyard for you to enjoy whether it’s early morning and/or evening walks, shell hunting, swimming, snorkeling, kayak stand up paddle, shell picking, and many other water activities. The sunsets are spectacular, and you may even see the sun rise over Haleakala on clear mornings. At the end of a Maui filled day avoid the high tourist areas, the crowds and come home your own little piece of paradise... and enjoy the breath taking sunsets....
