We recently hosted our micro-wedding at the Pines this past October and it was genuinely a perfect venue for us. The property and house is gorgeous, especially during the fall months, and really made the weekend so much more memorable than a more traditional wedding venue might have. Everything about the grounds and mansion was as listed or advertised, and communication was easy. There was plenty of room for storage, which was great for planning the event, and the number of bed and bathrooms made it very easy to host a multiple nights even for upwards of 20 people. We really cannot overstate how beautiful this historic property is, how perfect it was for our wedding, and how fondly we will look back on our week there. The house was great and was excellent for a large group of people due to the number of bedrooms and the accompanying bathrooms! There are many valid rules to ensure the house maintains pristine, so might not be best for a rowdier crew or children. The kitchen had EVERYTHING you could want from a utensil perspective which came incredibly handy. Lisa was incredibly kind, gave us the full history of the house, and was incredibly responsive. We had 16 people and it was a wonderful stay, thank you!

I hosted my wedding at The Pines and unfortunately would not recommend it. Full details are available in the attached screenshot. Here's a brief summary of our experience:The Pines is historic, beautifully restored, and incredibly comfortable. My family and I loved our time there. Lisa, the property manager, is outstanding. She is knowledgeable, caring, and deeply invested in both the property and the guest experience. While my stay was wonderful once we arrived, the host’s sparse communication, last-minute contract, lack of transparency, and inability to fulfill his obligations in a timely manner made the planning process extremely stressful.

We had a fantastic long weekend in this beautiful house. Everything is very clean and nicely decorated. Looks much better than pics on website. We loved the outdoor space. We enjoyed visiting brewery, winery, hiking nearby at Stissing Fire Tower, hiking to a nearby waterfall, and enjoying the towns in the area. Host had great communication and was very helpful.

We used the house for a retreat for a group of professionals. For this purpose the bedroom situation was lovely (9 bedrooms with ensuite baths) but the common rooms were a bit small and the wifi was tricky. None of this was the owners fault and we used the house well. Just sharing our experience. the house itself was very beautiful and had a lot of resources when we made dinner saturday night.

This house is excellent for large groups. There were 17 of us. It has been restored to authentic Victorian style with curated furniture, lighting, and beautiful wallpaper. There are so many beautiful details in every room I did not have time to photograph them all. The house is very comfortable, the bedrooms are spacious with updated bathrooms. The kitchen works very well and you have the choice of casual and formal dishes, linens, and glassware to create an elegant setting. The porch was our favorite hang out place ( we had great weather). Beautiful landscaping. I would definately rent again because the owner is very responsive and gracious. Thank you Jorge and Lisa for making our stay very special and comfortable.

Family Get Away

We had an amazing extended weekend at the Pines. 3 generations of our family gathered for a wedding in the area. There was plenty of room for everyone. We were all able to eat together and hang out together but could also find privacy in the immaculately appointed bedrooms. Gorgeous & Welcoming Home

We had the most beautiful stay at the Pines. There are so many gorgeous spaces to spend time, both inside and outside. It’s so clear that Lisa and Jorge LOVE this property! All of the bedrooms and bathrooms are well appointed and very comfortable. Highly recommend for large group stays!

We rented this property for friends and family in town for our daughter’s wedding at Stissing House. It was perfect and well beyond our expectations for the weekend. So many places to gather for conversation, food and large scale entertaining. We hosted 18 people in the house and added 15 one night and another 20 the next night. Literally perfect.The property manager is wonderful and has added some wonderful upgrades such as an amazing coffee room. Highly recommend this unique property- truly a unicorn. Most beautiful place that we. have ever stayed

Seven college friends have an annual retreat for a few days. We rent every year and we always look for a spacious, elegant place with some nearby attractions and at least one restaurant in walking distance. Pine Plaines was perfect. Highly recommend. Beautiful place, well maintained.

Downtown Abbey Meets Schitt's Creek in This Stunning & Spacious Victorian Mansion!

My family and I (14 people) recently stayed at The Pines to celebrate my 40th birthday. It was perfect! Throughout the entire booking process Jorge was helpful and responsive. Lisa, the property manager, was in touch with me on arrival day and greeted us when we arrived. She gave us a tour of the property and a brief history of the mansion. The mansion was spotless and spacious. The kitchen was a particular highlight for us, as we cooked most of our meals there. Appliances were upgraded and the stove/over was commercial quality. There were plenty of pots, pans, and serving plates/utensils, so cooking for 14 was a breeze. I really can't say enough good things about this gem. I really hope we can return for another family trip in the future.

Delightful and Beautiful Historic House

Just a perfect house for a friends' weekend away. The house is very comfortable for a large group - en-suite bathrooms, well stocked kitchen and dining ware, plenty of space to relax.The house itself is charming, beautiful and historic, but with all the modern amenities you would expect.Check-in/out process with Lisa was seamless and straightforward. the unique and quirky experience of our stay. Our extended family of 16 thoroughly enjoyed ourselves--whether cooking up meals in the well-equipped kitchen with it's antique icebox that we were hard pressed to fill; the main rooms lovingly decorated for the Christmas holidays; the generous dining room where we hosted an elaborate murder mystery dinner among other memorable dinners. The old mansion was not perfect--it could be quite cold in the kitchen dining area, a storm one night had the whole place rollicking, the plumbing could be sensitive--but those things only added to the charm and magic that is The Pines. Our hosts were lovely and responsive.

Wonderful wedding weekend!

My daughter’s wedding was held on Saturday at the Stissing House down the street. My family, kids and grandkids, siblings and friends arrived Friday. The house was magically decorated for the season. Lisa, the manager gave us our tour and came back the next day to reprise for the rest of our guests! We enjoyed every minute of our visit and our guests did, too! Wonderful memories for everyone!

Wonderful Micro Wedding Weekend

We stayed at the Pine for four days for our son’s family wedding (14 adults and one toddler). The house is wonderfully decorated throughout in “Gilded Age” style, with lots of space to spread out in. The bedrooms are large and beautifully decorated. We had a wonderful dinner at the Stissing House restaurant - a short walk away. Wonderful venue!
