About the property

6 BR, 5 BA luxury, private Villa, panoramic location close to Florence & Siena

Located in the heart of the Chianti Classico Region close to Florence and Siena, Villa San Piero is a luxury private residence submerged in vineyards with stunning views over the Tuscan countryside.

The Villa with private saltwater infinity pool dates back to the 13th Century and finished careful restoration to the highest technical standard. All original features in the Tuscan artisanal tradition were preserved, complemented by contemporary amenities and exquisite furniture.

The remnants of the ancient church San Piero adjacent to the Villa create an all star evening, romantic and magic location for special occasions or simply make a very special dining area. You can enter the former open church directly from the living room and sit under the starry sky in your own private little Chuch. The church can be lit up at night and is visible through the glass door in the living room.

The villa with 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms sleeps up to 12 people.

On the ground floor is the Master bedroom with king size bed, fireplace and ensuite bathroom, a large living room with comfortable sofas, second fireplace, wet bar and HiFi System, the main kitchen, a formal dining room with antique fireplace and pizza oven, 1 bedroom with queen size bed, loft and private bathroom, 1 bedroom with Flatscreen TV 55" leather sofa, 3 armchairs and - on the loft - a comfortable Full XL bed (140 cmx200 cm) , another private bathroom with tub including shower.

The first floor offers 3 bedrooms, all with queen size beds, 1 with ensuite bathroom, the other 2 bedrooms share a bathroom with huge rainshower and separate toilet. All beds are new with comfortable mattresses, high quality linens and elegant bedspreads. All bathrooms offer towel radiators, 4 come with rain showers, 1 with tub with shower; all have design sinks on top of antique wooden shelves, hand forged accessories; bathrobes and plenty of towels are provided.

In the basement you find the large tasting/informal dining room next to the antique wine cellar with a massive chestnut table for 12 people, open kitchen and fabulous views to the vineyards and into the wine cellar. Modern art work and designer light fixtures underline the beauty of the high ceiling with huge antique oak beams. A selection of local wines for tastings is provided in the Tasting Room at cost for the convenience of our guests.

Both kitchens are well stocked ready to use for gourmet cooking, the main kitchen with a 5 flame Lacanche gas stove and 2 electric ovens, German refrigerator/freezer with ice maker, granite countertop, microwave, the tasting room kitchen offers a 4 flame Bora gas stove, half size refrigerator, chestnut cabinets with built in dishwasher and pietra serena countertop.

The house has floor heating needed only in late fall and winter. The thick stone walls and state of the art insulation of the roof ensure that the villa remains comfortable in summer.

All bedrooms windows are equipped with rollable mosquito blinds.

The infinity saltwater pool - 36 ft x 13 ft - of local travertine stone - is surrounded by olive trees and a beautiful flower garden overlooking rolling hills and vineyards. There is a stone terrace and a wooden deck around the pool with plenty of tables, chairs, relax-lounges and umbrellas. The terrace and pool can be illuminated at night. The swimming pool is open from the beginning of May through the end of September.

Our guests can choose between multiple places for al fresco dining or a glass of wine. They will find a long glass table with teakwood chairs in the ancient former church, a pietra serena stone table in the courtyard and a marble table with plenty of chairs in the shade of the stone walled loggia. There is another terrace outfitted with comfortable sofas, where you can enjoy your morning coffee in the sun taking in the peace of the surrounding landscape.

A private parking area for 4 cars is situated under the linden trees in front of the house, there is space for 3 more cars on the driveway to the wine cellar/cantina.

Within 15 min driving distance you'll find charming little towns like Greve, Radda, Castellina, Panzano and Volpaia, where you can easily enjoy their large choice of good restaurants, excellent food and specialty shops, farmers markets, wine festivals and many other options. In easy reach are other well known places, such as San Gimignano, San Galgano, Volterra, Monterrigioni, Pienza, Montalcino, Montepulciano and Cortona.

Florence and Siena can be reached within 45 - 50 min by car or - even more convenient - by bus within 1 hour from Panzano, Radda or Greve.

Simply the best

  • 5 of 5

Carefully preserved antique villa with all modern amenities, tastefully decorated huge rooms and bathrooms.

Two gorgeous kitchens with no detail overlooked.

Perfect location for daytrips to Chianti Classico with it's wine cellars, Florence, Pisa, Siena, Volterra, San Giminiano.

Although the weather didn't show up it's best, our girl group of six adored the stay - we have to come back in summer when the pool will be open and the garden in flower!

A special THANK YOU to the owners for the warm welcome !

Beautiful villa with spectacular view

  • 5 of 5

We were a group of 8 passionate photographers staying at this spectacular property during our tour through Tuscany. It was by far the most comfortable and beautiful place we have stayed during our trip. Though we were traveling in wintertime, we had every comfort we could have asked for, thanks to the floor heating and the high end renovation of the historic building. The Villa was easily accessible by car. The owner was extremely helpful and had prepared everything for our arrival: the pantry was fully stocked, fresh olive oil, bread and cheeses were waiting for us in the kitchen and the wine shelf was well sorted with local Chianti wines and grappa. Plenty of fire wood was sitting next to the fireplaces. We grilled an unforgettable Bistecca Fiorentina in the historic fireplace of the formal dining room. After our daily tours we relaxed either in the TV room or living room in front of the fireplace, before we started to prepare dinner in one of the two professional kitchens. Everything was sparkly clean, the beds were comfortable with fine linen, plenty of soft towels and robes were provided. Our favorite spot in the evening was the long chestnut table in the huge tasting room, under antique oak beams with a view into the lightened wine cellar and to the moon and stars through the big glass door.

The surroundings and views from the property are made for a photographer’s eye.

We drove all the scenic roads between Florence and Siena to get the best pictures of Tuscan Winter Impressions. Some of the most picturesque roads are close by.

We would highly recommend this property, even in wintertime, and we will definitely come back.

Amazing villa in Tuscany with infinity edge pool

  • 5 of 5

What an amazing experience!! The house is absolutely divine. There are 4 separate dining areas so one of our biggest questions each day was where to eat! We had breakfast in the 13th century church, drinks and snacks by the pool and then dinner in the formal upstairs dining room... and then another night in the downstairs dining room.

Each of the rooms are large and very comfortable.

As a chef, the kitchen was incredibly well stocked and easy to navigate.

I would highly recommend it!!

Absolutely incredible!! Most amazing property-no detail overlooked!

  • 5 of 5

Our family (all 9 of us) enjoyed the most spectacular week at this beautiful, exquisite property. The villa is simply gorgeous! The property was even more amazing and exquisite than described on the website. It is beautifully decorated, spacious and had everything we could have needed and more. Each room had a gorgeous view of the surrounding hills and vineyards. The grounds and pool area were simply breathtaking. The location was absolutely ideal. It was walking distance to a wonderful restaurant in the little town of Lucarelli and two very nice wineries. The owner provided recommendations and assisted with tours, reservations and transportation. We would highly recommend this property to anyone interested in the experience of a lifetime.

Simply amazing property in wonderful location!

  • 5 of 5

We were two families, 9 people in total, who rented San Piero for a week in July. The property and surroundings have been renovated to the highest standard by the owners! We cooked wonderful breakfasts, lunches and dinners in the fully equipped kitchen using wonderful local produce.

Breakfast and lunch were enjoyed in the loggia with a wonderful view of the wine fields and dinner in our favourite spot, the old church, with a view to the stars – simply amazing!

The owner welcomed us, showed us around the property and left us ample tips for where to shop for local produce and where to find good restaurants. The property is ideally located for exploring Tuscany but I must admit we found it much to wonderful to want to leave. We were mostly enjoying the property and lounging by the clean and inviting infinity pool – in Italian: Dolce far niente – the sweetness of doing nothing!

Best Vacation Ever!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived we were immersed in beauty and comfort. We were welcomed by incredibly nice owner who made sure we were comfortable.

The historic, but fully up-graded villa is truly stunning with perfect views, gorgeous infinity pool, fully loaded kitchen, sparkling clean bathrooms, and extremely comfortable beds.

Everything was brand new and fully functioning. With amazing touches such as prepared perfumed robes in every bedroom, soaps, state of the art appliances (hair dryers, washing machines etc.), fine towels and linens. We even had presents, books, and toys waiting for our 8 year old daughter. A unique experience was arranged and offered to us by the owner at a nearby exquisite winery.

Moreover, we felt very safe, because we were provided a contact person nearby always available for help and questions. The owner also shared incredible tips for sightseeing, services, and restaurants . Everything was taken care of! There are numerous memorable day trips all around the area. We highly recommend visiting Siena, Florence, Pisa, and San Gimigniano.

We are used to 5-star service, but this was simply the best vacation ever!

Though we just came home, we are already dreaming of returning back to this Tuscan paradise!!
