The Airstream Bambi Sport

Nimble. Agile. Some would even say adorable!. The Airstream Bambi has always been a favorite among Airstreamers.

Airstream founder Wally Byam named the Bambi after a miniature deer he learned about on a 1959 caravan of Airstreams in Africa. The first Bambi launched as a 16-foot single-axle trailer in 1961.

This Bambi is a 22' 2012 model. It has a queen bed, and a dinette that converts to a bed for one adult or two children.

The kitchen is compact but complete! Quality utensils, pans, dishes - everything you need to cook a great meal on the gas range or using the microwave oven.

The refrigerator has a small freezer, there's a corkscrew and wine glasses, and a french press for morning coffee.

All you need to bring is your food and personal items.

We will gladly deliver the Bambi to your campsite and set everything up for you in your choice of some awesome campsites within an hour or so of Port Townsend:

Fort Worden State Park

Fort Flagler State Park

Point Hudson RV Park

Sequim Bay State Park

Dosewallips State Park

Dungeness Spit Campgground

We can deliver to further destinations for three day and longer reservations. Ask us!

Fun, unique alternative to a hotel or B&B

  • 5 of 5

My wife, daughter and myself really enjoyed having this travel trailer as our base camp for a weekend of adventure in Port Townsend. The unit is exactly as described and Steve and Denny had everything set up and ready to go on our arrival. This aspect took away all of the hassle one might have in towing a trailer and hooking everything up if you’re not aware of how to do so. Beds and linens were comfortable, the kitchen and bathroom, while compact of course, were all fully functional and easy to navigate. I’m a pretty good sized guy at 5’ 10” and 225lbs and fit in the shower and moved around the trailer with no trouble at all. I would recommend to any couple or small family/group as a fun stay in nature.

Enjoyed our little home away from home!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fun time in this camper trailer. Especially since we picked a rainy weekend to go! It was very comfortable and roomy enough to host 2 others for dinner one night.

Steve the owner was very responsive and helpful through the whole process. He is very knowledgable about the Olympic Peninsula campgrounds so get his advice before reserving a space. I've always admired airstream and now Ive had the chance to try one out without towing it!

This worked out GREAT for us - couldn't have been easier.

The trailer was great, & delivery, set-up, & takeaway couldn't have been more seamless. Steve is VERY responsive, prompt, & so helpful & cheerful to work with. He accommodated us to a "t" - made everything just so easy & pleasant. I highly recommend this to anyone interested in a "camping" opportunity that involves no work & no stress. Thank you, Steve!!

So much fun and little planning required

  • 5 of 5

My friend, my well-behaved dog and I traipsed out to the "OP" , specifically to Fort Worden where we spent two nights in Denny and Steve's Bambi Sport. We enjoyed a Thanksgiving dinner using the convection oven to warm our meal (we were not brave enough to cook an entire turkey!) and had two breakfasts at the table and watched two movies in the comfort of our PJs. What a treat! I enjoyed the shower and looking over every little piece of the small space--it was all a novelty and all the more poignant because I design small spaces! Terrific! Steve was responsive every step of the way; meeting him and his wife was simply lovely. They adore their Bambi and it shows: custom dishes and pillows with the trailer/camping theme. Super cute and everything we needed was there. I signed up to the waitlist (by now, probably super long) for first dibs should they ever choose to sell. Don't be on the fence, DO IT!

Great experience

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time staying in a camper. We enjoyed the convenience of having the camper transported and setup before we arrived. Steve (the owner) was pretty responsive and answered any questions we had. Obviously this is not a hotel so you need to adjust your expectations. Do not expect a spacious room. Being a camper everything is small and space is limited inside. But who wants to stay inside? The whole idea is to enjoy the outdoors and still have a comfortable place to sleep. Overall pretty great experience.

Perfect little camper!

  • 5 of 5

This is our first time ever staying in a camper. We usually do tent camping, but with two toddlers and coming from the east coast, we didn't' want to bring all that gear with us. I'm so happy we found Steve's Bambi on VRBO! It was very luxurious camping with a real bed, not having to walk outside in the middle of the night when you have to go to the bathroom, and a fully stocked kitchen.

Steve was also great to work with. He communicated well and arrived when stated. He and his brother-in-law also fully set up the camper and showed us how everything worked.

The one thing I will point out is that if you stay in a campground without sewer hook up, you'll need to be careful with your waste water (not toilet) as the tank is only 20 gallons (I believe). We ended up washing our dishes at the outside spigot and taking quick showers and lathering with the water off. Even with those measures, after 3 days, we had filled the tank. Not a huge deal since that was the day we left anyway, but if you'd like to take longer showers, then I'd recommend finding a campground with sewer hook up.

We stayed at the Salt Creek Recreational Campground and it was great. Beautiful view, quiet, nice playground. It was cold, though. We were there the middle of July and wore sweatshirts and long pants the whole time, so pack accordingly!

Overall, I'd happily rent from Steve again if we want to camp on the Olympic Peninsula. Our boys are already asking if we can go back, so we may end up doing it again next year!
