Sage Cabin - Beautiful one-bedroom cabin just minutes from Yosemite Valley
Yosemite Hilltop Cabins are located within the gates of Yosemite National Park in the tiny community of Foresta. It is hard to believe that such a quiet and peaceful place like this exists just fifteen minutes from the sometimes bustling Yosemite Valley.
NOTE – This listing is for the Sage Cabin. The listing and availability calendar for the Lupin Cabin is also on VRBO/HomeAway under property number 115073. Both cabins are on the same property, have the same floor plan, and are furnished almost identically.
The cabins are very private. Even though the Sage and Lupin Cabins are located next to each other they are oriented to maintain maximum privacy. Each cabin has 17-foot-tall wood beam ceilings with ceiling fans and lots of windows to take advantage of the beautiful views of the surrounding mountains. When you are at the cabins you can see the top of El Capitan, Yosemite's world famous 3000 ft tall granite cliff.
Each cabin has a master bedroom with a comfy king-size bed and down comforter. They also have a full bath, full kitchen, and reading loft. Each cabin also has its own patio with a high quality Weber gas barbecue
When you arrive at your cabin there will be fresh linens on the bed and clean towels in the bathroom. There will be brand-name shampoo, conditioner, and body wash in the bathroom. You will only need to bring food, clothes, and personal toiletry items.
Fantastic hiking and running trails with wildflowers, waterfalls, and wildlife can be accessed right from the cabins.
Each cabin has a TV/DVD player. The TV has no programming, DVD only. There is a small DVD library to pick from or you can bring your own movies.
The kitchen has all the cookware and dinnerware that you will need to prepare and serve meals. The kitchen also has a microwave oven, toaster, blender, coffee grinder, and coffee maker.
The cabins are heated in the winter by propane heaters that look like wood-burning stoves. Both cabins have air conditioning for your summer comfort.
Some cell phones work at the cabins. Verizon is the best. Each cabin has a land-line telephone for use during your stay.
There is satellite internet provided by HughesNet. There is a cap on the amount of bandwidth that is available. PLEASE DO NOT STREAM MOVIES OR WATCH VIDEOS AS IT WILL IMPACT GUESTS THAT ARRIVE AFTER YOU.
As of November 2014 there is no longer a hot tub at the cabins. It was a tough decision but keeping the hot tub clean and in working order finally became too much.

Cozy cabin, very accessible to Yosemite Valley
Clean modern cabin with a nice kitchen, barbecue, porch and outdoor furniture.
Kitchen is small but quite workable, has a great gas stove and microwave.
Sage cabin is exactly what it advertises itself to be and it's terrific.
Once you have decided not to go the hotel-ouside-the-park route or the flashy lodge route and have settled on a cabin, you can't go wrong with Sage, one of Yosemite Hilltop Cabins. It is in the best spot in that end of the park - nice vistas, quiet, etc. We saw heaps of deer strolling by and had a perfect view of the full moon at night.
The cabin is well-outfitted and the bedroom and attic space are comfy. Although the couch is large and comfortable, the living space is a bit cramped for more than a small family and the only drawback is that the mattress on the pull out bed (half the couch) is a bit long-in-the-tooth.
Steve is very organised, sends a lot of info and links that are useful and is very responsive to communication. Five stars there.
You won't be disappointed.
Fantastic base to explore Yosemite
Everything you need for a perfect stay in Yosemite is here. Cabin is very well furnished with great attention to detail inc books, games and DVD’s and a very well stocked kitchen. Had a wonderful week.
Awesome place, awesome location
We loved staying at the Sage cabin during our Yosemite stay. It's in such a unique location to be situated within the national park but not right where the crowds are. It was a short drive to the valley from the cabin.
We were slightly concerned what the roads would be like getting to the cabin if it snowed, and sure enough the day we drove in was the first real snow of the year. We had a 4WD vehicle and it really wasn't that bad, although we are somewhat experienced with snow driving already. I'd say don't hesitate to book in the winter but probably good to bring a 4WD vehicle.
The cabin was cozy and nice and the kitchen was great for doing all of our cooking. The bed in the bedroom was comfy but we didn't need to use the cushions in the loft so can't speak for those. The gas fireplace worked really well and kept the cabin really warm.
Overall I'd highly recommend staying here.
We loved it.
It's located in such a pretty and quite location. It was just perfect for my husband and I. It was close enough to the Valley to get there in minimal amount of time. But far enough that when the park got crazy busy on the holiday weekend you didn't know it. Hope to return again.
Beautiful and feels secluded
This is our third visit to Sage. We have been visiting Yosemite almost every winter since my daughter was 20 months old and this is the perfect staging spot! We are far enough from the Valley to feel isolated but only half an hour drive to get to the valley's hikes and amenities. We are a family of 3 so this little cabin is worth it. The loft is too far from us for my daughter (6 yo) to feel comfortable sleeping up there, but she LOVED going up there after a long day of hiking to read and relax with a blanket. One morning we even watched deer graze the area in front of the cabin and watched a variety of woodpeckers, robins and songbirds. Thank you so much for an always beautiful and restful stay.
