Clean. Affordable near the beach.
The place was clean. Dishwasher did not work the entire time there. It was a nice place to stay near the beach.
Smaller unit; with a small balcony. It was perfect for our weekend away with 3 adults and we fit comfortably. There is carpet in this unit which is kind of weird but it did not take away from our experience. The unit was VERY clean. The couch bed in the living room falls at the head and is unusable but it was fine we just slept on top of the couch. There is ALOT of furniture in this unit. The complex itself was very well kept and was quiet all together. The beach was beautiful and just a short walk from the unit. We went during memorial day and the area was not over crowded. Overall it was a nice experience.
Had a great time and would rent again
With no prior reviews, we had to rely on the photographs of this condo to make our decision, and sometimes photos can be deceiving. So when we arrived in mid-June 2016, we were very happy with what we found. This condo is on the third (top) floor of building 1. First and foremost, the condo was clean. Second, there appeared to be new or nearly new carpeting and appliances, such as microwave, range, and dishwasher. Third, there was a washer and dryer in the unit, which was a HUGE plus. This unit was a bit snug for two adults and two teenagers, but we expected that going in, so it was not a surprise. The only downside for us was that the bed mattresses were very firm. Way too firm for our collective taste. And the master bathroom shower was made for someone 5'2", but there is a removable shower head so it was manageable. The balcony was a bit small, but had a decent view of the ocean. We spent a lot of time out there in the mornings and evenings (when not at the beach). About the complex itself, it is out near Fort Morgan and a bit of a drive back to Gulf Shores, which was both a good thing and a pain at sometimes. It takes some time to run out for groceries or do any shopping. The Plantations has several pools (one of them is at the end of this unit), tennis courts, shuffleboard, etc. All seemed to be in good shape. We did not utilize any of these things as it turned out, as we spent nearly all of our time at the beach. Beaches were well attended, but not crowded. The beach is a reasonably short walk from the condo down a boardwalk. Obviously, there are some newer buildings and some older buildings at this complex. This condo was in one of the older buildings. However, because this condo is on the far east side of the complex, it seemed less crowded than some of the newer buildings in the center. So, even though the building might have been older than some others, we were happier to have less vehicle and foot traffic. In summary, since we've never been to any other condo in the Gulf Shores area, we have no basis for comparison to say this condo is a better value than any other condo. There might be nicer and/or better condos at GSP or another resort. But what we can say, and the reason for the 5 star rating, is that we feel our money was well spent on this unit, we got exactly what we paid for, and we would not hesitate to rent this specific unit again in the future. We did not want to leave when our week was up.
