About Linda Getty
I am a creative writer who has lived in Seattle for more than 29 years. Besides writing, I love music and sang with the Seattle Symphony Chorale for 10 years. I also love to cook and bake, and often have dinner parties. I formed a book club over 25 years ago that is still going strong. My husband and I are both from the Midwest. I grew up on a farm with 8 siblings. My husband's Dad was a University Professor of Veterinary Medicine, so he grew up in a Midwest college town. He also chose education for his career, but in the corporate venue. My husband and I lived in Europe for several years and love to travel, but our favorite place is right here on our beach in Seattle. We enjoy hosting our friends and family, and look forwards to sharing our little bit of Heaven with you!
Linda Getty purchased this Apartment in 1987
Why Linda Getty chose Three Tree Point
This waterfront rental is on a sandy beach, which is unusual for the Seattle area. Wildlife, such as whales, sealions, and dolphin, feed right in front of our home because of a deep trench located off-shore on our side of the Point. Eagles live in the tree behind our home, and we watch them swoop down and catch salmon right in front of us. Our beach is fairly flat and at low tide, we're able to put up a volley ball net on the beach. Because of where our home is located on the Point, we are one of only a few homes where the high tide does not reach the bulkhead. Because of this, we always have plenty of driftwood for sitting on, beach fires, and art projects. We are located only 12 minutes from Seatac Airport, yet because the Point sticks way out into Puget Sound, we have no airplane noise. We are also only 15 minutes from Seattle with easy access to most highway entrances only a mile up the road. Being on the west side of the Point, we have amazing sunsets. This is a safe, family-friendly community. We're close to everything, yet once through our gate, you'll feel a world apart.
What makes this Apartment unique
Location is everything! Close to the airport and Seattle, yet totally quiet except for the waves hitting the shore.

The space provided by Linda and Rikel is perfect! It's quiet and secluded yet close to everything you could want to do.
We stayed for 8 nights and were fortunate to see a pod of whales passing through, we also saw several seals swimming around. If you like looking for sea glass, rocks or large shells this is also a great location for that.
A wonderful place!
Can't think of a better setting to experience Puget Sound. The view, accommodations, and owner were the best!
Perfect for Our Thanksgiving Retreat
This place is a great one. The studio apartment is well put together. It is clean (#1 on my list), comfortable, and right on the beach. I thought I would miss not having a full kitchen, but the kitchenette with microwave and refrigerator was all we needed with dinners out. We didn't expect to spend so much time at the property, but we actually wrapped up Thanksgiving visiting early, so we could get back here, walk the trail, walk the beach, and cozy up on the couch with a good movie afterwards. Thank you for sharing your place with us. It was a wonderful mini-vacation.
Charming seaside hideaway.
Perfect place for business or pleasure travel. Relaxing and scenic. The place is tidy, yet not fussy so you can come right in after a walk on the beach. The owners make sure that the little things are attended to well to help make your stay more comefortable. I will miss this charming seaside hideaway.
We only stayed a couple of days, but the view from inside was wonderful. The apartment was nice without being fussy (you didn't feel awful bring a leaf in on your shoes)
We had a relaxing, enjoyable stay. There are steps going down to the beach which were a little hard for us 81-year-olds to navigate.
Very comfortable with good view, great place for R & R.
I was just coming back from a very exhausting trip in Europe (walked part of the Camino in Spain in addition to other travels), and had gotten sick at the end of the Europe trip. I was craving a place to relax and rejuvenate. Although, there were lots of things to do in the area and outside my door, what I really craved was just R & R and this was perfect for this. Linda was friends, very informative about what to do around the area and what to see. She offered to be helpful, but also was very respectful of privacy and allowed me to truly relax. I would like to return again sometime in the future with my family. The kitchen was stocked well enough with equipment. I did think there was a fireplace, per the description on Trip Advisor, but the fireplace was on the beach, not in the unit, but this was not a big issue.
Three Tree Point is 15 minutes south of Seattle, by a small town called Burien. It is a community that offers many local festivities such as a salmon derby, a polar bear plunge, for Halloween everyone decorates their homes and dresses up. The biggest celebration is July 4th. Our own hired barge shoots fireworks off at the end of the Point over the water. You can also see all the other island, and Seattle fireworks from our beach. All day long there is music and other festivities for all to enjoy. Burien also has a parade and festivities. And if you'd rather drive 15 minutes into Seattle, you can experience close up the fireworks off the Space Needle.
