Overview

About the property

Lodge, 7 Bedrooms, 4 Baths, (Sleeps 20)

Perched atop a peaceful, forested ridge, Panorama Lodge is a comfortable, 7 bedroom log home with breathtaking views of Mt. Hood and the Hood River Valley. Look out to a verdant valley of pear, apple and cherry orchards.

Great place for retreats, sport teams, and reunions. Our lodge is outfitted for flexibility. We can sleep 18. A favorite lodging option for reunions, non-profit groups, bicycle teams. Ask for a floor plan.

Relax on our full-length deck where vibrant flowers frame every vista. Enjoy the serenade of birds, quail and wild turkeys. You'll enjoy the call of owls at night. Gather on our large flower lined deck with Mt. Hood at your feet. Play bocce ball on our newly completed court. Hike or bike some awesome nearby trails with great views.

Yet we're less than four miles from Hood River where shops, world-class restaurants, brew pubs, art galleries and theatre await.

IMPORTANT: WE ARE NOT A WEDDING VENUE! Our site is not suitable to host weddings! We are in a great neighborhood of families on 3 to 5 acre parcels. Loud noise carries throughout this area. Be considerate of our neighbors. Please, no outdoor music or other noisy outdoor activities past 10 pm. Thank you

Mountain bike and hiking trails are just up the road and windsurfing and kite sailing are only three miles away. Ask about trails, must-see places and view spots. Lots of local information.

The entry has a set of stairs, as well as a paved entry ramp.

We are just 33 miles to Mt. Hood Meadows. We offer DISCOUNTED LIFT TICKETS for Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort. Our tickets will be $59 this year if purchased here! That is a $30 savings over the current Mt. Hood Meadows advertised regular price. Also, Meadows is offering a three day pass for just $99 when you stay at our lodge. Ask for details.

ASK ABOUT PETS! Pets must be well-behaved. No aggressive dogs! No constant barkers or cat chasers. Limit to no more than three pets. Pets must not be left unattended. We discourage 'furniture setters'. (Furniture covers available). Thank you.

About Linda Kremin

We hike or ride bike whenever we get a chance. Landscaping and gardening occupy a lot of our time. We have over 50 organic blueberry plants and LOTS of strawberries. Whenever we get more time off, we explore other parts of Oregon & Washington. We have always loved the northwest.

Linda Kremin purchased this lodge in 1976

Why Linda Kremin chose Hood River

We have lived in the Gorge most of our lives. The lodge location has so much to offer . . . the view is awesome, there are two great hiking trails within one or two miles, if we need something we are just 3.5 miles from town, less ambient light makes for a great place to observe the stars at night, plus the peace and quiet can't be beat. The Columbia Gorge is rich with wildlife, we presently have a doe & two fawns and a large herd of turkeys that visit daily. Natural beauty abounds, go hiking, camping, kayaking, skiing, exploring - all types of adventure. We bought our property in '76 and built a large log home taking full advantage of our mountain view. We have been offering our lodge to guests for over 28 years. We love this area and enjoy helping our guests locate the many treasures we have found in the gorge.

What makes this lodge unique

Peace and Quiet. People come from all over for the silence, the nearby trails, the superb mountain view, the awesome night sky and a variety of wildlife. We have many wild turkeys out the kitchen window each morning. And it is not unusual to see a deer and fawn ambling through. We feel pretty lucky.

Guestbook comments from the owner

What a wonderful place to spend a vacation with friends! We all work hard and have rented this lodge three times just to come to the gorge for wind-surfing, hiking and bicycling.

Amazing Stay

  • 5 of 5

This lodge was absolutely beautiful. We filled the house with 20 women for a fun filled Leadership Weekend for Trout Unlimited. I'd highly recommend the location for anyone who is trying to host a large group leadership event. The parking was a little iffy and the house was a little loud but when you have 20 people staying what would you expect? I'll definitely be renting the lodge again next year.

Owner's Response: Thank you, Heather. We love to fill the Lodge with groups who know how to enjoy life. Hopefully, next time you come, I can be here and get to meet fellow fly-fisher women. We are an eclectic group, indeed! I look forward to welcoming you all home next year. . . Sorry if the parking got confusing. There are parking spaces for about 25 vehicles on our property. A problem can occur when everyone wants their vehicle right in front of the lodge, rather than walk 100 feet. I will put out new signage to try to help that issue.

Perfect spot for our family vacation!

  • 5 of 5

Linda and Micah were welcoming, attentive and warm. The well equipped kitchen was great for my family of aspiring chefs...and it was fantastic to have plenty of glasses, plates, etc. Beds were comfy, view spectacular and bocce court great fun. Perfect location for us to enjoy Mt. Hood and the Columbia River!

Summer at the Lodge

  • 5 of 5

I invited 15 family members from across the county and South America to reconnect. The lodge was perfect for an extended visit and an introduction for relatives who had never met. We barbequed a huge amount of salmon and ate like kings and queens. I would recommend the lodge for large gatherings.

Owner's Response: I sure enjoyed meeting the whole family. This planet is getting smaller all the time. You were represented here by many of the US states, as well as a couple of other countries. Come back when you can.

Excellent setting for our sibling reunion.

  • 5 of 5

Panorama Lodge was a perfect place for our sibling reunion. Each sibling had their own bedroom for privacy when it was wanted but we also had a great place to hang out with each other to catch up on each other and to remember the past. The view of Mt. Hood was unbelievable and I never got tired of looking up to see it. It could be seen from nearly all parts of the main floor and many of the bedrooms had great views of it as well. The lodge is full of historic photos and artifacts. I often noticed something different and of interest during our stay. The kitchen is very well stocked with pots, pans, silverware, spices etc. Linda (the owner) was very hospitable and we enjoyed getting to know her a bit during our stay. Thanks so much for a great place to hold our sibling reunion. I would recommend it to my friends who are looking for a place that is quiet, has beautiful views and is close to downtown Hood River as well as hiking opportunities.

Very helpful & friendly host, lodge worked well

  • 4 of 5

The host and owner is very helpful and responds quickly to any questions. I really appreciated that. The house was great for our needs. It is an older lodge, but had good communal gathering space, as well as lots of space in the kitchen, for our group of 15. The VRBO description says this lodge is 21,912 square feet, I think that must be a misprint. The interior of the lodge is large, though- (maybe around 6000 square feet?) fine for our 15 people, with more than enough beds for everyone. One note if you've never been here: It is a little tricky finding the driveway to the lodge in the dark, but there are signs, you just have to be looking for them. No snow at the lodge when we were renting, so the steep driveway presented no problems for us.

Owner's Response: Our log home was build in '75, with many upgrades since. It is furnished with lots of antiques and artifacts. We keep it clean, comfortable and highly functional for large groups. Not sure about the description but the lodge measures 40 ft x 32 ft and has three levels. That is about 3840 sq. ft. We serve a lot of large groups all times of year. We fill with skiiers, snowboarders in the winter who usually have the AWD vehicles Oregon roads require. We get a lot of returning guests each year who love the place.

Family Chirstmas and 50th Wedding Anniversary

  • 4 of 5

The lodge met all of our requirements - we had plenty of room for everyone and plenty of room for 5 young kids to play. The beds were very good, however the sofas need some updating/cushions. We would have had an outstanding time but the weather did not cooperate. We had only one 4 wheel drive vehicle of the 4 and could not make it up to the lodge to unload or load. Linda was very helpfull in shuttling us from our cars on the road up to the lodge. There was little flexibility in activities since we were basically tied to the lodge for the 3 days. Weather was the main issue and not the lodge itself.

Owner's Response: Your family hit a rather difficult cold snap for December. Our website suggests the winter weather can be sunny and warm but can also shift to difficult driving conditions. AWD vehicles should always be rented during winter months in the Northwest. If you get a chance to return, let me know in advance and I can arrange a discount so you can experience the thrill of of warmer weather in the Northwest.
