This remote island home has a tree house great room and balcony on the top floor, four sleeping rooms on the second floor, and a ground floor family room for games or home theater (DVD player, surround sound, and foreign film library).Along with 2 ½ baths and accommodations for as many as 8, elevator, screen porch, deck, outdoor shower, and soaking tub allow for relaxation throughout the year for all of the family. Pine paneling and flooring, vaulted ceilings, and marine architectural elements distinguish the residence as a coastal station.The house includes 3 carts, and linens. NO MEMBERSHIPS available with this property. Beds are foam mattresses.

                                                                Amazingly private home!!! Great for multiple couples. 3 golf carts which came in so handy. My only negative would be the Ikea mattresses are really uncomfortable and the kitchen could use more utensils (cooking). The house is very clean. If you are not big on cooking and you want to hide away from the world this is the home for you.

                                                                We loved every moment of our trip to this amazing treehouse of a home. The views are panoramic & beautiful, the decor, home and amenities are perfect, we seriously could not have asked for a better setting to enjoy with our friends! The three golf carts came in so handy for times we split up and the drive to the Market and even the Ferry & Lighthouse is not bad at all. It's a super short drive to East Beach & the Shoals Club Area. No need to bring beach chairs and there's even a beach cart! The beds were very comfortable, none of us had any issues sleeping and it was even more spacious than we expected. It was hard to tell in pictures but there are 4 Bedrooms all with full/queen beds, a huge screened porch with a futon and a lower level basement room with a pull out Sofa. The Kitchen and Living area is open and ideal for entertaining. It poured rain one of our days there and it was the perfect place to enjoy the sound of the rain & views. We explored all around the house and it truly is a nature lovers dream! Deer greeted us every morning and night. I don't know if there is a negative/ downside I could make - We are pillow snobs, so there's that, but we are those travel with our pillow types ;) We are already planning to make this an annual trip. We love BHI and go there often, but couldn't image staying anywhere else now! Can't wait to go back.

                                                                Beautiful, private, relaxing home away from home!

                                                                We truly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, "treehouse" of a home! This was our first time on the Island, we had everything we could possibly need, certainly more than we had time for. This house is clean, comfortable, relaxing and fully equipped. If you want somewhere away from everything, just pack a bag and bring food, because you will need nothing else! There are 3 golf carts, bikes, kayaks, beach chairs and so much more. If we ever get a chance to return, this would be our first choice. Now, to the owners of the home: thank you for providing a French press, because the coffee maker does not work. Also, a set of keys to lock the house could not be found, so we had to leave our belongings unprotected when venturing out. A quick story, for those unfamiliar with the island. This home is about 30 min in a golf cart to the ferry and eateries. IF you venture out at night, bring a flash light. It is VERY DARK, and cell signals fade in and out, as this home is located at that far end of the island. We all had major carrier's and could hardly get one bar. The directions on a phone will take you in circles, if you can pull it at all. Other than that, we loved it!

                                                                This decor of this house is a conglomeration of what happens when IKEA meets industrial. Very clean, well appointed, an elevator and 3 golf carts make this one great! Not so great is the loooooong ride to get here on a dirt road. This house is about as far from the ferry as you can get! Plan on a 25 minute one way golf cart ride to get to/from the ferry if you need to go that way. It's really far away.

                                                                Our guests absolutely loved this house! If you ever wanted to experience off the grid living with all the conveniences of electric and plumbing, this is the one. It's far removed from everyone.

                                                                This was my 7th year to visit BHI and this was the best house yet. The architecturial design of the house as well as the lovely interior decor was awesome. LOVED the middle floor with four bedrooms ( great mattresses and linens btw). There were several occasions that all 3 golf carts were in use. Our family really appreciated the complete privacy that this home provided. We are all hoping to return to this great home ASAP!

                                                                This house does not have mattresses- the bed consists of foam pads on a plywood base (in every bedroom) . It was severely uncomfortable and we can't believe someone would rent a house with this type of "bed", esp as a vacation spot. Also, the linens were old, threadbare, and the pillows were strange. We did not find the furniture to be something you could relax into (old/worn) . Of the 5 bikes that were advertised with the house, only 2were rideable and many had flat tires. Brandy, the property manager, did not respond to a few of my queries, including number of bikes, beach chairs, etc. But on a positive note, the overall house was great (well equipped kitchen, nice views, private). Loved having the upper porch to eat dinner overlooking the marsh. It was nice to have multiple carts. We can tell the owners love the island as much as we do, but should seriously reconsider the bedding for renters!

                                                                We are sorry to hear about the bedding and we have never had a complaint about them. We have addressed with the owners about more options. The pillows are brand new and less than a couple months old. We never heard about the flat tires during your stay. We have a full service staff that would have been happy to had repaired asap or any other needs that occur. The owners and our company take a lot of pride in this home. It is definitely a one of a kind, unique home!
