Overview

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 12

Centrally located and close to grocery shopping, restaurants, and the famous Pagosa Hot Springs. Our home is on quiet street that is perfect for sunrise/sunset walks and close enough to enjoy the lake. Home is perfect for family gatherings or warm enough for romantic getaways.

Large living room with cozy wood burning fireplace (wood provided), comfy leather furniture perfect for large groups, 48"smart TV, blu-ray DVD player, dining room and great WIFI. Well equipped kitchen features slate counter tops, JennAir stove, eye level oven, microwave and side by side fridge, dishwasher, breakfast bar, dishes and silverware service for 12, and laundry facilities.

Downstairs: Master bedroom with king size bed, slider to rear yard, and a double sink bath. The deck outside the kitchen has a table, lots of seating and a BBQ. Enjoy your coffee on the front deck while you watch the sunrise and wildlife. When the wild geese fly over announcing their flight, it is a sight to see and hear.

Upstairs: Two more bedrooms, one with a queen size bed and one with two twin beds. A nice loft that serves as an extra bedroom with a queen size bed and pull out couch. The loft opens up to a deck with seating to enjoy the most beautiful view of the Continental Divide and Pagosa Lake. The upstairs bathroom has the unique feature of the sink and shower in a separate room from the toilet.

Bonus Room: Detached media/game room over the garage and just a few steps from the kitchen. 48” smart TV, blu-ray DVD player and many games. The large sectional hide-a-bed sofa (which makes into a double bed) along with TV pillows offer plenty of room for seating to watch the movies or play games.

It is so beautiful here and the seasons are well defined. The winter is just breathtaking with snow scenes and of course the winter sports. You have your choice of skiing and snowboarding at Wolf Creek Pass, sledding or taking a moonlight horse drawn sleigh ride. We watched a red fox walk down the middle of our road right after a snowstorm. It was an unforgettable sight.

Spring is an adventure from the time the snow starts to melt as you watch the plants come to life in all their glory and the return of the wildlife. The blooming flowers and plants are beyond description and they continue to bloom well into summer. The summers here are mild and it cools off during the night.

There are no street lights so it feels like you can just touch the stars and the moon. The colors of the changing leaves announcing the fall cannot be adequately described. We love sitting out on the deck watching the wild geese fly over in formation announcing their arrival.

Make your experience whatever you want it to be. Come visit our home and make your unforgettable memories here. You will be in love with Pagosa Springs too!

First off, sooooo much room! The house is lovely and spacious. You can sit outside in the hot tub and watch the stars at night. The Owners were very accommodating and very prompt at answering your questions. We will definitely stay here again when we can! Loved it!

Cozy, comfy, and relaxing.

  • 5 of 5

This house was perfect for our group. Comfortable layout and with all amenities we needed plus a great hot tub! The house is set in a quiet neighborhood away from the main part of town and is surrounded by trees. Really is a getaway. Great owners too! I spoke with Stuart on the phone when I arrived and he was super friendly and helpful. His main focus was that we had a good time. I would stay here again and can highly recommend it.

BeAuTiFuL ViEw & WiLdLiFe!!

  • 5 of 5

My whole party including myself, husband, in-laws, daughters (age 2 & 4), and two mini-schnauzers thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay in this lovely home. We would definitely book a vacation here again.

I loved waking up to the smell of coffee every morning upstairs and opening the French doors to the most beautiful view from the balcony upstairs. Ahh...

Great proximity to town, but perfectly quiet. We saw many deer every day all over the neighborhood. We also saw squirrels, hummingbirds, woodpeckers, hawks, and lots of other birds! The home was a great size for us I could easily see staying with more people comfortably. The kitchen was well stocked. The owner is super nice and a great communicator.

It was a vacation I’ll always remember!

Wonderful home and hiking experience

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 5 (dad, mom, 18-yr old boy, 16 & 13-yr old girls) wanted a family vaca with Colorado hiking, though we'd never hiked. After an exhaustive VRBO search & an elaborate rating system, we all basically picked this house as where we wanted to stay. The pics & descriptions did not disappoint. High quality home & plenty big enough for us.

Day 1 - Stopped by Treasure Falls after a long drive from the Kansas City area - beautiful falls & an easy hike. Accessing the house with the provided instructions went perfectly. Saw a mule deer & her babies walking in the neighborhood (we could have practically reached out & touched them). Ate a late supper at Kip's Grill & Cantina downtown & though live entertainment while we eat isn't necessarily "our thing", we did enjoy it & would recommend it.

Day 2 - We walked along the San Juan Riverwalk, experienced a few hot springs & shopped a few places near the parking area. We then hiked the Coyote Hill Loop Trail (9 min from the house) - a good test for us hiking newbies. A few climbs had us breathing hard, but generally it was easy & the view from the top was great!. We finished the day with some mini-golf at Shooters & Shenanigans (mom won).

Day 3 - Wanting to experience remote mountain fishing, we headed out for Buckles and Harris Lakes, about an hour south off Hwy 84. The last 7 miles of gravel mountain road driving to the Buckles Lake trailhead was very scenic & the 1/2 mile hike to the lake was easy. But with this lake & Harris Lake (another mile hiking further), there was no evidence of fish this year. I think it has been too dry & the lakes were quite low. But we enjoyed the company of mountain cows inhabiting the area & the views still made it worthwhile.

Day 4 - Breakfast at Cafe Colorado. Highly recommended - tasty & big portions! Then off to Piedra Falls & the Piedra River trail, both about an hour north. Piedra Falls is a must-see in this area. Another scenic & hair-raising gravel road journey but well worth it once at the falls. Bring some good grippy shoes as it can be a bit unnerving otherwise. Falls are beautiful. The Piedra River trail makes for more great pictures and memories! We went to the bridge & back (about 3.5 miles).

Most days ended with a soak in the hot tub, roasting marshmallows in the fire pit or enjoying the view from the loft deck. Saw plenty of mule deer. The house is very well equipped, including fans for hot days. Thanks for a great home!
