Cosy Home with Heated Pool

*POOL IS HEATED to 85 degrees from Nov.1st-April 31st. If nighttime temperatures fall below 50 degrees the owner reserves the option to turn the heater off.
Situated just one block from the beautiful Indian River, Dolly's House affords you the best New Smyrna Beach/Edgewater has to offer. Enjoy fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and boating on the river, or take a ten minute drive to the beautiful beaches of New Smyrna.
A short 15 mile drive up 95N takes you to Daytona International Speedway, Daytona International Airport and more beautiful beaches. Orlando International Airport is approximately 90 minutes away by car.
When you've had enough of the crowds at the beach you can enjoy a day in your own heated pool. After your swim, relax with a glass of wine around the pool or in the screened-in patio. The yard is fenced in for complete privacy in the pool area and there's a grill so you can enjoy cooking and eating outdoors. The laundry room is off the carport, with another bathroom and a shower to wash the sand and salt off after a day at the beach.
The house is located in an older, established neighborhood. Most of them were built in the late 1940s or early 1950s. They are not fancy but they’re sturdy have survived many hurricanes with no damage.

The house felt cozy, and the outdoor space and pool were lovely. This said, the house needs a good cleaning. The baseboards were dirty and very dusty. The corners around the furniture in the living room and bedrooms were very dusty. Further, the bathroom floors (tile) need a good clean. In the second bath, the tile grout was discolored and yellow around the toilet. Additionally, the kitchen utensils, cookware, and dishes were dirty. I had to wash everything I used (the first time I used an item). And, as a personal preference, I would have appreciated if the outdoor furniture (Adirondack chairs/patio table) would have been cleaned (wiped down to be free of dirt/debris) for our stay.

To say I was upset after reading your review is an understatement. I was going to dispute your criticisms but decided that the best response was to point out that of the 27 reviews I’ve received on Vrbo since 2022 ( that’s as far back as I can go) every one has been a 5 and of those 27 bookings, 6 have been repeat guests, with several coming back for a third time. I’ll let those numbers speak for Dolly’s House.

Dollys House

This is a charming property with its own lovely pool and screened porch. Lots of privacy very restful. Very close to the river for long walks and close to dining and activities in New Smyrna.

Wonderful Location - Amazing Hosts

Kathleen has made this place a home away from home. The location is perfect with the beautiful river walk and plenty of places to find food from restaurants to grocery stores. We had guest come stay during the month we were there and they all loved it.

Relaxing stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Dolly’s house! The house was clean, had a great pool, and was well stocked with plenty of towels and other things to help us enjoy our stay. As someone who loves to cook the kitchen had everything you needed! Upon arriving we were surprised by a 6 pack of beer, creamer for the coffee and fresh muffins - such a nice touch! Kathleen was extremely helpful during our stay. We would love to come back again!

A little part of me wanted to leave a bad review here, in hopes of scaring people away, hopefully leaving it open for the next time we come back. But...i just can't do that. We cannot thank Kathleen enough for everything she did for us. The house was spotless! The neighborhood was extremely quiet. And so much more...If you have read other reviews, you have probably seen how great of a host Kathleen is. They are all 100% true. Not only did she have everything you would need at the house, but she also had creamer, beer, waters, homemade cake (and lots of kleenex... thanks Kathleen) all waiting for us when we got there. Such an amazing time! Can't wait to go back!

We loved our stay at the Dolly house. The Patio and pool area is where we spent then majority of our time while we where at the house. It’s very private and relaxing. We was able to visit Orlando, New Smyrna, and Daytona. Location was perfect and the house was equipped with everything we needed.

Cute and comfortable home.

What a great place to stay! Very clean and comfortable. The pool was a bonus. Kathleen was a pleasure to deal with, quick to respond to questions. Central location to hit the beach or see Daytona Beach, and an easy drive to Orlando. We'll stay there again when we travel to see family in Edgewater.

This is a lovely house, impeccably clean and very well maintained. The neighborhood is quiet. The pool is lovely and very private. Kathleen always adds personal touches specific to our likes. This was our 3rd time visiting and it was great. We will be back for sure.

Quiet Retreat

Kathleen was amazing! There were fresh flowers, Homemade Blueberry Ginger bread and a bottle of wine on the kitchen table upon our arrival!!! Delicious Bread btw…Home is close to everything but still super quiet neighborhood. House was really well equipped. The only one thing that was a bummer was the pool was too cold to swim in however it was in the 50s at night.

This was our second stay, and it's a hidden gem! Immaculately kept and well stocked. Kathleen is the best hostess. The personal touches she adds made our visit! Her baked goods are a definite treat! We'll be back again!

We moved to Florida from NY in 1999 and live right next door to Dolly's House. We were sailors for over 15 years and we also love motorcycling through the hills of Georgia, Tennessee and North Carolina. We love to travel and have used VRBO extensively. We spent 3 months in France in 2015, staying in houses and apartments that we found on VRBO. In 2017 we spent 2 months in Italy, touring Tuscany and Rome. 2019 took us to England and Scotland for 2 months. 2022 took us to Brittany and Normandy for 2 months. Every time we travel I find something a host has done that I can apply to Dolly’s House.

Why they chose this property

This was my parents' house and when my mother, Dolly, passed away in 2014, I bought the property. Since I have been so pleased with my own experience with VRBO as a traveler, I decided to put Dolly's House on their website. I'm pleased with how quickly I booked my first guests. I've tried very hard to have everything at Dolly's House that I would like when I am the traveler.

What makes this property unique

There are many houses with pools but very few houses in this area have heated pools. Even though this is Florida, you usually can't swim in a pool comfortably in the winter months.
Dolly’s House is perfect for older travelers with plenty of grab rails in the bathrooms and accordion doors into the bedrooms for ease of access for walkers. There are no steps to struggle with going out to the porch and the master bath has a roll in shower with a drop down seat.
