Cutest house, walking distance to Main St, all the amenities you need! We would definitely stay again!
Awesome Bungalow Getaway
The house is adorable, vintage, comfortable, and is in an amazing location. Couldn’t have asked for a better place for a 4 day getaway with friends. Can’t wait to go back again!
Older house with many upgrades. Close to the heart of main street and attractions, but that added to the noise (along with the trucks shifting gears well into the night). Good place for a couple (or 2 couples) to stay while visiting. Owner left a bottle of wine for us to enjoy - nice touch!
Downsides - Second bedroom's bathroom looked like a remodeled closet with just a toilet and sink crammed in - the shower was actually in the bedroom itself! Back yard was small and the hot tub never got above 75 degrees, so we didn't spend any time there. Workmen building 3 additional cottages behind the house were there from dawn to dusk everyday anyway. Also, older HVAC system meant temperature varied a lot between rooms.
Convenient location and room to spread out!
Enjoyed our stay in this cottage in Fredericksburg Dec 4-7. Pro's were location, one block off Main Street, big den with tv and dining room, both with comfortable seating and two bathrooms. Older renovated cottage so our expectations different but we always enjoy the charms of older homes. Relatively clean. Master has its shower in corner of room which is a little unusual but Ok. Kitchen had the basics and not much counter space but we weren't doing much cooking so it was fine. Master had tv and ensuite and other had bathroom in hall way and no tv. Did not use hot tub or outdoor fireplace because of evening rain. We brought a little wood but there was some there as well. Not much going on in Fredericksburg that week plus some rain but we were there mainly for Admiral Nimitz Pacific War museum which was first class so between that, wine tasting and just shopping the decorated Main Street we had fun. We didn't realize Main St was also the highway thru town so it's pretty busy. Con's- a little dark, and there were 4 out/missing light bulbs, found one light bulb to replace but just lived with the others. Would have been nice to have that porch light though- we used our cellphone lights. Slider door on master shower off track, (still usable) spent some time trying to fix and called to let them know and informed part already on order. Plenty of room to park but beware the driveway if you have a low riding car. It has a short ramp at entrance and we scraped the under carriage the first time, after that we only parked in front. Easy pickup/drop off keys but office not too friendly - they were both on the phone and wouldn't even look up! I finally figured out we were to get keys out of box on porch and leave. I was worried about heat cause it turned cold but the house stayed snug and warm. Overall a pleasant stay and we would consider this cottage again!
Great property! So close to Main Street and the perfect size for 4 people
Loved the Bungalow's location. Very well stocked and comfortable.
