Overview

About the property

House, 5 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 5 Baths, (Sleeps 10-12)

A rare beachside home on the Oregon Coast and beautiful Nye Beach and it is 15 miles of pristine sand beaches! Our home is 100 feet to the stairs (90 steps) that lead down to the beach. For those who don't like stairs there is a path down the beach by the Hallmark Resort Hotel. It is perfect for family reunions, wedding parties, anniversaries, conferences, and any other large group who needs to be together in one place. Our home is over 3500 square feet and sleeps 12 in beds and pull-outs, with additional guests possible. In addition, we have plenty of restrooms (4 1/2) to handle a large group, so you all can head out and play as soon as possible.

There are so many things to do and see around the area. We are five minutes from world-class charter boat fishing and whale watching, crabbing, and the pier with docks and ramps, for those with their own boats. Fifteen minutes from outlet shopping and casinos, and concerts for the indoor types. Five minutes from family activities in Newport’s Historic Bayfront with shops/museums like Ripley’s Believe It or Not, Oregon Coast Aquarium, Newport’s Underwater Aquarium, and Mo’s Clam Chowder and Annex.

Most importantly, you have a refuge and home to come back to, after all those activities to relax, play games, do puzzles, cook and be together.

Perfect home for large gathering

  • 5 of 5

Originally we had booked a property with another company, it was sold without notice. It was our parents 50 th anniversary and we needed a large place to accomadate 14 people. This was perfect. SO many bathrooms. Close to the beach, with a very nice restaurant next door for a wonderful family celebratory dinner. It had everything we needed even 2 coffee makers! We couldn't have had a better time. We made sure the property was cleaner when we left than when we arrived. I wish there were 2 curbside trash cans. As the men went fishing on Thursday and we then filled the trash can again. The only con would be slow communication from the owner. But she was very nice and easy to talk to.

We would stay there again.

Comfortable home

  • 4 of 5

We had a group of 11, including an infant. We had more than enough space as we put the couple with the infant and dog into the largest room. They had so much room they could have easily fit another queen bed in there. There are so many bathrooms that made it so convenient as our group was in a previous 5 bedroom house with only 2 baths. We had problems with the alarm system. A bunch of us left at 6 a.m. to go fishing and while everyone slept, the alarm went off. It definitely woke everyone up. The dining table cannot accommodate the whole group so we had to sit in the living room downstairs and the upstairs ocean view room. We had problems with the refrigerator but when I called to let them know, Mary was very nice about it. Since it was the weekend, she could not get anyone to fix it before we left, but the previous renters had left towels to sop up the water in the refrigerator. The stairs were very dirty and I pulled out the vacuum cleaner but couldn't get either one to work. The kitchen needs a little updating as it is in the older side of the house. The deck and ocean view room located in the newer addition was wonderful. All the rooms on the newer side of the house was nicely decorated and clean. The twin bedroom downstairs didn't have a closet so the two people in that room had to share the closet with the other downstairs bedroom. The area is nice and quiet and we all enjoyed the house. The house is located close to Newport town, the pier and a few restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.

Great for large get-togethers

  • 4 of 5

We had a family gathering of 10 adults and 2 kids. Plenty of room and with both the upstairs family room and the downstairs living room space to get away from crowd if you wanted. Upstairs family room with great view and turned into our gathering place for cards and other games. Should fix the middle window that lost its seal. Easy walk to beach and easy on/off coast highway. Great restaurant next door and walking distance to Dutch Bros. if you like lattes. Needs some TLC which is why they lost a star, but didn't really detract from our enjoyment. Should build area in backyard to shield the wind. Had to BBQ in the front of house because of the strong evening winds. Would recommend to family and friends.

lots of room; good value

  • 5 of 5

We spent 3 nights with 6 adults and 3 children. The original part of the house is one-story with 2 bedrooms (queen and twin beds), living room, kitchen and dining area, laundry room and 2 and a half baths. A second floor addition was added with 3 very large bedrooms all with bathrooms, a living room with ocean view, and a deck. We had plenty of room and could spread out between the living rooms if some of us wanted more quiet. The family with the youngest children stayed together downstairs.

The kitchen had plenty of dishes, both cooking and eating. The location was great--easy access to Hwy 101 and the beach, while still quiet. Having a washer and dryer was great as the kids enjoyed getting wet at the beach.

We got used to the alarm system mentioned in earlier reviews and it was actually easier than worrying about keys. The house had some quirks, but it worked out well. Mary was very nice to work with and responded to questions and concerns.

Spacious but dated

  • 2 of 5

We choose this location to celebrate my daughter's 16th birthday with a bunch of her friends. The space has two bedrooms on the main level (one with a double bed, the other with twin beds). Upstairs there are three bedrooms, one the master which was huge. While the space was excellent for our group and just a short path to the beach, there were some things that dampened the stay. The rental listed an outdoor grill; it was nowhere to be found! I had planned my first meal around feeding hungry teenagers grilled hamburgers. After a call into the rental manager, who offered for us to go into town and purchase a grill, meal time was approaching an end so we pan fried them. Sheets on the main level bedrooms were wet (not enough time in the dryer??) They had to be taken off and dried. All the towels for the rental were still in the dryer. The kitchen was spacious but needed updating (peeling wallpaper). The kitchen table seats 8. For the price, I expected a much nicer welcome and updated space.

Ron

  • 5 of 5

For our 30 year anniversary, my wife and I decided to rent a vacation house in Newport, so that we can have our kids and grandkids with us. The house had more than enough room for all 12 of us, and everyone was very comfortable. Check in and check out was very easy. This vacation rental helped make our 30 year anniversary a success.
