The Sandtrap is one of our most popular properties in North Myrtle Beach, and for good reason. This property, located only one block from the beach, is divided into 10 different cottages. You can rent one unit, or for larger groups such as family reunions or youth group retreats, you can reserve all ten. Sandtrap #6 is the lower unit of a duplex and has three bedrooms, two baths, and will comfortably accommodate up to 10 people. This cozy home has free wireless internet, four televisions, a DVD player, hardwood floors and ceramic tile. Situated less than 100 yards from the beach, you can spend your day playing in the surf, sun, and sand. When you have had your fill, come home and fire up a barbeque, swim in the pool, or play basketball or volleyball. If you feel like going out, you are close to all that the Grand Strand has to offer, including delicious restaurants, family activities, and fun night spots. This unit fills up fast, so make your reservation early and get ready for an unforgettable North Myrtle Beach adventure.

Our stay was great. There was a grassy area in the back for the dogs. The space was clean and it was a short walk to the beach. I would recommend it.

My family and I really enjoyed our stay at this duplex. It’s in a great location. No more than a 5 minute walk to the beach. Stores and restaurants nearby. The duplex could have been a little bit cleaner but overall was great.

The place was adequate but the bathroom faucet needed repair and maintenance fixed. Also I saw much hair around from previous renters so the deep cleaning could have been better. Over all location was a block from beach and the pet friendliness was great. We got to stay a few more hours to checkout. The price was fair and we felt safe.

We stayed at the Sandtrap 6 which was just one block away from beach access and close to all the Main street activities. The cottage was clean and looks just like the pictures online. We rented a golf cart this year, and truly enjoyed this for the first time. The staff at Retreat (Jeanne Pullum) was wonderful as usual! We always choose Retreat Myrtle Beach Inc, because they are pet friendly and the staff makes booking easy!

It was right sized for the 7 people we had in our party. The master bath is a little small but worked out ok.The pool is right off the back porch and was clean, although there is no shade around the pool but lots of chairs. There is a sand volleyball and basketball corts as well. Lots of BBQ grills throughout the complex.We could have used a few more utensils in the kitchen (no can opener, cookie sheet, or large pot). We brought our own Keurig but there was a traditional coffee maker as well.Overall a great place to stay.

Fell short of expectations

The home itself really took away from the overall experience of the vacation. We found a dead roach immediately after entering and killed another one before the night was over. We sent a message to the rental group, they never responded but an exterminator did show up the next day. I would have preferred a heads up because we had the wake up the family before letting him in. I'm not rating them down for this because it was mentioned in the description but I'm mentioning it because it's mind boggling - bedding + linen needed to be rented. Seriously? These are basic necessities and this is the very first time staying in a home where I needed to rent these things. Back to rating > To make matters worst, there was no dish soap, hand soap, etc. The trash can was missing a lid and the apartment reeked of trash. No mats on the cold hard floor, not even in the shower. If you're looking for comfy and homey, this is not the place to stay in. The check-out check list was sort of funny. We were expected to wash the dishes but no dish soap was provided (for hand wash or dishwasher). Aside from that, the location was great. There were some outdoor entertainment to indulge in (volleyball, baskketball and swimming).

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry you did not totally enjoy your stay. The contract does list the fact that you are to provide your linens, or rent packages, as well as bring consumables, such as soaps. This is a common practice in this area. We would love to have you stay with us again, now that you know what to expect. New vacation locations bring new experiences.

Reviewer Comments: Five of us stayed at the Sandtrap 6 on a Friday night both years because we could not get in our condo at Cresent Dunes until Sat, which was also through My Retreat Myrtle Beach. The Sandtrap was clean and accommodating. If it had king size beds and washer/dryer could have just stayed there. I will review the condos after our stay. Check in and check out is a breeze. I have mostly dealt with Jeanne who is awesome, but anyone else I have spoken to has been very friendly too!

Very Disappointed !

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very unhappy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Got relocated due to the hurricane, supposedly an "Upgrade". It was larger (sort of) which we didn't need. When we got there the renters upstairs were taking up 4 spaces with two cars and we had to ask them to move their cars over so we could unload. When we got in the unit and started to unload the car we realized that the A/C was not working and my husband took the box off the thermostat to find no batteries, put batteries in, still no A/C. It was sweltering in there. Called and they sent someone out about 2 hours later who got it running and had to come back in a couple days to replace a part, Okay, stuff happens. We finally got the TV in the living room to work, but couldn't get TV's in the bedrooms to work. Called on Monday and they sent someone out. The small (tiny) bathroom was so small that when you sat on the commode your knees hit the wall ( I am short) not one actual chair in the place. We had to go buy skillets as there was nothing to cook breakfast with and only two teaspoons ! Very lacking in Kitchen equiptment. Then the bugs (told it was because of the hurricane). Beware of the back deck, very slippery when wet, my big strong husband slipped and fell on his broken arm. So uncomfortable we left a day early. Hillside is a very busy and noisy area, not what we are used to as we usually stay in Cherry Grove. We have been going to No. Myrtle Beach 2x a year for the past thirty some years, this was the worst experience we have ever had, and certainly not what we expected from Retreat ! I could mention a few more things, but I think you get the picture ! If you choose to stay in this unit, I hope you neighbors are more considerate than ours were. I was so glad to get home a day early !

I'm sorry you did not have a positive experience, with your most recent stay with Retreat. The A/C was fixed at the earliest time we could get the service company to the unit --- since you were checked in early, it did seem like a long time, but due to the storm they were on a tight schedule that Saturday. We do try to handle any concerns as soon as possible. I will be glad to pass your comments on to the owner --- I apologize that we needed to bring you additional kitchen items, and it was not fully stocked for you. Your security deposit as well as a good faith refund was made promptly. We do hope to see you in the future.
