This was our first trip to vail though we have skied most of the Denver resorts in the past. Included are some tips we learned on this adventure. Vail is HUGE! Both the resort itself and town are large compared to other resorts.
Our experience with Lakespur Lodge was excellent. It’s a lovely home and perfect for a family ski trip
The home is a short walk from the bus stop, and easy enough in ski boots. The rental shops in town will store skis and poles overnight.
The free shuttle system in Vail is THE way to get around. Easy and on time. Parking in the resort is not all that close to the lifts.
DETAILS:
The lodge is 2 stories; there are separate thermostats for each level. The stairs are a spiral staircase; important if you have small children or elderly. There are outside entrances for both levels.
Beds and pillows are very comfortable; probably the best of all of our VRBO experiences. Plenty of TVs and good high speed internet. Kithchen well equipped with pots and pans, dishes, and a few spices as well. Lots of little touches; games for the children, snowball maker, etc.
Wonderful private hot tub on the veranda; outside grill.
Andy and Meg are readily accessible and responded quickly when my wife locked herself out!
Overall, an excellent experience; enjoyed immensely. Accolades to Andy and Meg!
