Updated Vintage Farmhouse -- walking distance to stores, dining & wine tasting

Bedrooms 3
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Enjoy a leisurely walk to the town of Boonville for morning coffee at the Mosswood Café, the Saturday Farmer's Market or dinner at the Boonville Hotel from the charming Tolman House, located approx. 1/2mile south of town on Highway 128.

The Tolman House was built in the late 1800's. The 3 -bedroom, 2-bath house boasts a large lot with a lawn and picnic/barbeque area and completely fenced outdoor space. It is pet friendly. There is one king bed, one queen bed, one double bed, central heating and air, a full kitchen with a dining nook, living room and a sunny banquette seating area. One bathroom is new and modern, with a shower, while the other is original, with a claw foot bathtub, located off the master bedroom. The house is the perfect size for two or three couples or a family. It sleeps 6 people.

The Tolman House is superbly located as a base for exploring Anderson Valley and the Mendocino Coast. It is within 300 ft. of 2 wine tasting rooms and Pennyroyal goat cheese farm/tasting and 1/2 mile from dining, shopping, and a microbrewery. In 15 minutes you can be hiking among the redwoods in Hendy Woods State Park. Drive 30 minutes to the Navarro beach or 50 minutes to the picturesque village of Mendocino. Another 15 minutes and you can be at Ft. Bragg--catching The Skunk Train or looking for treasures at Glass Beach. You can also just relax at the picnic table and gaze at the hills of Anderson Valley and the Pinot Noir grapevines that surround you.

Wonderful weekend in Boonville!

  • 5 of 5

Girls weekend in Boonville was just what we needed! Nancy and Bill are great hosts, I had trouble getting into the lockbox for the key, they were there instantly to help me. The house is clean and very comfortable...especially the beds! If we find ourselves back in Boonville we will defintly be staying here again.

The Tolman Farmhouse is a wonderful place to get back to relaxing and enjoying a slower pace.

  • 5 of 5

The house is like the very best Grandma house. It was immaculate and so well stocked. The kitchen was easy to cook in, love the old yet efficient appliances. Fun to soak in the claw foot bathtub after a day of wine tasting. Our dog loved the huge fenced yard & we loved all the sweet places to sit outside and just enjoy nature. Be sure to go to Foursight Winery, the wine is great and you will learn a lot about the house and the area. Great stay!

Comfortable, convenient, cute

  • 4 of 5

We were a group of 6 adults in town for the county fair. The Tolman House is an easy walk to the fairgrounds and the market and pretty much everything in Boonville. The beds were very comfortable and we had pretty much everything we needed. The table in the dinning nook off the kitchen was too small for all of us to gather around so we moved living room furniture around and brought the large patio table in-perfect! We ate most of our meals at the house so we appreciated the well stocked kitchen, grill and the very cool vintage range and fridge. We set up a puzzle in the dinning nook that everyone took turns working. Having two bathrooms worked out well. Each of the bedrooms was spacious. The weather was on the cool side so we enjoyed sitting on the porch and at the outdoor table. Having the option of air conditioning would be great for those hot Boonville days/nights. We really enjoyed our time and would stay again. It's a perfect base camp from which to explore the Anderson Valley.

Owner's Response: We love it when our guests are able to enjoy a local festival like the Mendocino Country Apple Fair in Boonville every September--usually on the third weekend. It features animals, agriculture, wine grapes and art....and,of course, also a carnival . The fairgrounds are an easy walk from the Tolman House--as is the whole town of Boonville. The Tolman house does have central heat and air conditioning--so, whatever the weather, you will be comfortable.

Darling home, convenient location

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed staying in this lovely house. Very clean and comfortable, beds were very comfy and linens were nice. We could easily walk to town. We were greatful for the A/C since we were there during an extreme heatwave! It was nice to have 3 bedrooms so each kid got their own room.

Comfortable home in a beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect place to stay for an escape to a quiet and relaxed way of life. The house is clean and comfortable, with plentiful outdoor seating. We comfortably housed five adults for two nights. Boonville itself is small, and you are well situated to walk to the town restaurant, bakery, and a couple wineries/breweries. A few miles north you'll stumble into wine country. Highly recommended!
