Dog-friendly Ridgetop Home - a retreat in Elk 15 minutes from Anderson Valley

Rooster Ridge is a dog friendly, picturesque hideaway, perfectly located 20 minutes from the beach and wine country. You can enjoy solitude among the redwoods overlooking Anderson Valley, or entertain and play table tennis and other outdoor games on the full wraparound deck. RR is a short drive from fine dining in Elk, Philo, Boonville or Mendocino. You can also cook in our well stocked chef's kitchen (gas BBQ). You can cozy up to a wood burning stove, listen to music (Sonos speakers), play games, or watch movies on a 48-inch smartTV.

An oasis among the redwoods overlooking Anderson Valley, Rooster Ridge is a standalone two bedroom home that accommodates four people comfortably, six people max, and dogs. Ideal for a family getaway, friends or couples retreat. This unique house is a recently renovated cabin built in the 1950s for loggers that worked on the old mill that was located on the property. At Rooster Ridge, you're in the peaceful countryside, so you're bound to see deer, bunnies, foxes and an occasional friendly possum.

About the interior: The bedrooms both include queen size beds, and one room includes a desk. There are two twin size rollaway beds that can be set up for kids or extra guests to use. Setting these up in the bedrooms will only work for one room, and it's a tight squeeze, so best to place these in the main living space. The large main living space includes two couches nestled in front of the wood burning stove built into an old fireplace, with a drop leaf coffee table to puzzle or play games (included). There and two chairs facing a smartTV with streaming access. There is also a dining table that can accommodate six people max. The well-stocked kitchen is next to the living room and includes a butcher block, counter space and a bar cart with cocktail accessories.

About the Exterior: There is a deck surrounding the entire home, with seating in three different areas, so you can move to or away from the sun comfortably. The Ping Pong table is set up on the back deck, and there are outdoor friendly ConnectFour, Cornhole and a life sized yatzee game available to set up anywhere on the deck or property. The entire property is fenced in to ensure dogs have a place to roam free. There is plenty of parking in the back, for easy access to hauling goods in - with only one step involved - as well as parking in the front for an RV, or three cars. There are four Adirondack chairs on the lawn facing a clearing that overlooks Anderson Valley (Navarro), where you can enjoy a cup of coffee at dawn, or your libation of choice at dusk. Stargazing at Rooster Ridge is spectacular! It's very peaceful to be among the trees where you will hear all of the sounds of the forest!
