Welcome to The Simple Life! This brand new cottage, just completed in February of 2023, is a two minute walk down a deeded path to spectacular pink-sand Poponi Beach, which is one of the most sought-after beaches on Eleuthera. There is excellent snorkeling right off our beach. Bring your snorkel gear!

NOTE: A house is under construction next door. Estimated completion September of 2026.

A three-minute walk down that beach takes you to La Bougainvillea boutique resort with its excellent beachfront restaurant and bar. A four-minute drive takes you to Tippy's famous beachfront restaurant. Island Farms market is just 5 minutes from the property. It offers fresh produce plus homemade breads, cinnamon rolls, jams, jellies, dressings, pesto, salsas, and so much more. Governors Harbour, the main town on the island, is just eight minutes away by car. Governors Harbour has restaurants, grocery stores, gift shops, liquor stores, and a great fish fry every Friday night.

The Simple Life Cottage features quartz countertops in this modern kitchen equipped with an apartment size refrigerator, oven/range and microwave. It is fully equipped with a coffee-maker, toaster, cookware, dishes, and cutlery. There is a separate laundry room with a washer/dryer.

The bedroom features a king bed, walk in closet and a full en-suite bath with a walk-in shower. The living room also has a pullout sofa. Both bedroom and living room open onto the lovely broad veranda. Glimpses of the ocean are visible from throughout the cottage and veranda.

Amenities include backup water tank, air conditioning throughout, WIFI, whole house back-up generator, washer/dryer, a TV with Netflix, beach umbrella, cooler, gas barbecue grill, and fans in every room.

Perfect and cozy oasis

Loved the simple life cottage. It is perfect for a couple. It was just me and my husband this year and it had everything we needed to have a relaxing stay. Misty, the property manager is very responsive and accommodating. I would staying at any of their properties on the island.

Cozy 1 bedroom Simple Life Cottage

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely one bedroom cottage, situated very close to a beautiful beach. Cottage was very clean. Only drawback was that we did not get the cloth dryer working, but I'm sure it has been fixed now. Highly recommended.

It’s wonderfully isolated but if you need some civilization, you can take a five-minute walk down the beach to La Bougainville to sit at the bar and each fish tacos. It’s ideally located; 10 minutes from the Island Farm and downtown Governors Harbor. Misty, the property manager, answered our texts quickly when we had any questions about the cottage or things-to-do.

Tranquil Anniversary Escape

We last visited Eleuthera 40 years ago for our honeymoon. Yes, there have been some changes, however it remains a destination for unspoiled beaches. The Simple Life Cottage was the perfect place to experience this. Watching the sunrise in the morning and seeing a million stars at night. Magical watching fireflies in the nature landscape. Also enjoyed the surprising visits from a friendly Potcake. White like a ghost, as quick as she appeared she would disappear. Explored the history and culture of the neighboring town, be sure and visit Governor’s Harbour for the Friday night fish fry. Thank you for sharing your little slice of Heaven on Earth.

The house had everything we needed, was close to the water, close to all the restaurants we wanted to go to, etc. There is a bit of a hill to get to and from the beach. This wasn't a problem for us, but people should be aware in case they have accessibility issues. Our return flight was canceled and Misty, Tara, and Kristin were quick to get us back into the rental for the night. It was relieving to have real humans to work with in case of things like this.

Clean and new and had just the right amount of dishes and cooking supplies needed. Even had a washer and dryer. Bed super comfortable.The continuous deck located off of both the living room and bedroom was great for an evening breeze. Wonderful location a 3 minute walk right down to a gorgeous, pink sand beach and right down the beach from La Bouganvillea, which was fantastic.Thank you for having us!

Reviewer Comments: Simple life cottage is literally the perfect place for a couple to stay in Eleuthera it is literally a 2 minute easy walk from one of if not the best beach in the entire Bahamas ! We stayed 21 days and it couldn’t have been more perfect! It’s has all the amenities that one could need .... The owner is extremely responsive and went out of his way to get us a blender . The house manager misty is also extremely responsive and helpful anything we needed she was there for ! The house is clean, brand new , and immaculate I’ve been to Eleuthera 5 times and I give this home a 10/10 and I will be returning !

Palmetto Point Ideal Location

We had a wonderful week at Simple Life which is in an ideal location in Central Eleuthera. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay. I loved seeing the sun rise from the kitchen window and set from the back porch. Easy access to a beautiful, unspoiled beach was a huge plus. We appreciated the beach chairs, towels, and umbrella that Simple Life provides. We cooked many meals at home using the outside grill and kitchen appliances. La Bougainvillea is a short walk down the beach where we enjoyed dinner and drinks. We are huge fans of Island Farms which is a 5 minute drive away. Love the access to fresh produce, fruit, prepared foods, wine and homemade bread. One of our favorite beaches, Ten Bay, is 20 minutes away. Heading into Governor's Harbour is easy as well. Overall, we highly recommend Simple Life and its beautiful location in Palmetto Point.

The kitchen is stocked well and had everything we needed to cook meals. The living area is comfortable and the Wi-Fi worked very well. We did not need to do much laundry, but appreciated having the washer and dryer. The cottage received an amazing breeze and we did not need the AC. The bed is very comfortable and the bathroom has plenty of space. We also appreciated the large closet with plenty of space. The property manager, Misty, was great and always helpful. The walk to the beach is very easy, and being able to walk to La Bougainvillea in just a few minutes is a definite plus! The beach is just beautiful. Definitely recommend staying here. It's on a quiet little road and the construction on the main house did not bother us. Great Experience, thank you!

Paradise :)

This was our first trip to the beautiful island of Eleuthera and Eleuthera vacation rentals and our onsite contact Misty were so helpful with planning from beginning to end! They made our trip stress free and we felt well taken care of! From helping me find the perfect flight and finding a boat excursion they were extremely helpful. The Simple Life was perfect for my husband and myself! Just steps from a beautiful beach! Stocked with everything you need and the beach chairs, umbrella and cooler were icing on the cake! In walking distance to La Bougainvillea (you can make reservations on-line) where we had dinner twice and a quick drive to Tippy's where we also ate twice. Close to grocery and farmer's market. We beach hopped everyday, but for us the beach at The Simple Life was the best! Also visited The Ocean Hole, Lighthouse Beach, Queen's Bath and took a boat to the sand bars and Cape Eleuthera for a great lunch. If you stay at The Simple Life, you will probably be checked on by the neighborhood potcake. She came by every morning and evening to check on us, but never overstayed her welcome! :) Whether you are relaxing at The Simple Life, or exploring the beautiful island, Eleuthera for us was a slice of paradise and we can't wait to return!
