Fantastic Family Fun Beach Bungalow!

Bedrooms 3
Half Baths1
Property type house
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

3 Bedroom, 2.5 Bath, Sleeps 8

Built in 2011; light and airy 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath beach bungalow. Quiet retreat steps from one of only three nationally certified 'clean beaches' on the Great Lakes, and the largest white sand beach in West Michigan. Start your day walking or fishing off the channel, watching the boats cruise by. Afternoons are great spent playing on the all white sand beach and in the clear waters of Lake Michigan. Evenings are wonderful watching the famous Western Michigan sunsets while strolling out to the Red Lighthouse at the end of Pere Marquette. Or, stay home and relax on the huge front porch, enjoying the Lake Michigan Breezes.

Master bedroom on the first floor, fully appointed kitchen with stainless steel appliances. Enjoy the fireplace in the family room on those cooler nights at the beach. Have fun heading out to the back deck to grill, or go down to the fire pit to make late light s'mores!

Great 'beach forest' steps from the house, explore the dunes all the way to Muskegon Lake. Walk down to the Channel to the Historic National Submarine, Sliversides, and take a tour.

Michigan Adventure Theme Park/Water Park, Craig's Cruisers (go carts and miniature golf), Ice Cream Shoppes, Lake Side Emporium Candy, Harbour Towne Theatre, The Frauenthal Theater, 6 State Parks, all easy distances away. Cross Lake Ferry, Boat Charters - fishing and sailing, kite surfing and stand up paddle board lessons offered at Pere Marquette Beach. Catch the local trolley on Beach Street and for 25 cents you can visit local tourist spots. Hiking, birding and dune walks available in the dunes of nearby (12 minute drive) Hoffmaster State Park. Duck Lake State Park is a great family destination and a 'locals' hang out for skim boarding and swimming with smaller children.

Check with the Chamber of Commerce for the many seasonal events and festivals along the lake shore area. We will have local interest information for you at the house.

Beautiful, Clean, Comfortable Cottage

  • 5 of 5

No one was totally surprised when our family first walked into this newly built, lovely house, since we had viewed the photos of the property, on the VRBO website Everything inside and outside the house was spotless, and accommodating for our adult children and grandchildren. The open floor plan and large front porch, gave our family the opportunity to visit and share meals together. The house is located one street away from Pere Marquette Beach, and is situated on a dead-end street - ideal for families with children.

The owners of this property, Robert and Bonny Reed are exceptional landlords. Our family plans to reserve this lovely house for our next summer vacation.

This beautiful home is the perfect place to vacation. The house is even more beautiful than described. Very well maintained. My family of 7 (husband, son and wife and three grandchildren) spent a week here and we could not have asked for more. The beach is just a short walk away. The owners provide beach chairs, boogie boards, beach toys, everything a child could want. The kitchen is well equipped. The grandkids loved the bunk beds. Rooms are spacious. There are board games, books for adults and children. The outside is like a mini recreation area with a sandy front yard for playing games, the deck out back, picnic tables, chairs and fire pit just complete the place as the perfect spot. It is nice and shady out back. One evening we were using the fire pit and two deer walked right up to us. We had never been to this area before and we found plenty to do nearby. The owners are so sweet and helpful. They offered good advice on things to see and do. Could not have asked for a better place to stay.

Fantastic winter family retreat

  • 5 of 5

Searching for a spacious & stylish family vacation home in a quiet and relaxing setting? Look no further! Rob & Bonny's place caught our eye from the start with its "beachy" decor, bright & cheerful rooms and comfortable living spaces. The house is brand new, though with the charm you'd expect from a vintage vacation cottage by the shore. The neighborhood backs up to fields and woods to explore, and a sprawling Lake Michigan beach is just a block away.

Our family and some friends, including five teenagers (gasp!) enjoyed a winter weekend of cooking, game playing and snowshoeing at the cottage, plus cross country skiing at the Muskegon Winter Sports Complex less than 30 min away.

Oh, and dealing with the owners was super easy. Definitely recommend the place to anyone wanting a family-friendly getaway in western Michigan.

Best Place to Stay at Pere Marquette

  • 5 of 5

This was our 4th year staying at Rob & Bonny's "Beach House". I has been like coming home each summer. Everything has been consistent and the house seems to be in the same condition as it did our 1st summer when it was brand new. We have enjoyed family while in Muskegon and doing the Muskegon and West Michigan activities. This year we did the Dune Buggy rides at Silver Lake and stopped at Cherrypoint Market for Cherry Pie and Cherry Streudel. My grandchildren have grown up at the "Beach House" and constantly talk about it. This year we were welcomed with ingrediients to make S'mores which we did over the open fire pit. We will be back in the future.

The beach house was perfect! It is exactly as it is pictured -- beautiful! Our family consisting of my husband, myself, 2 daughters, son in law and 2 grandchildren were vey comfortable and really enjoyed making s'mores each night at the fire pit. Walk to the beach was 5 minutes!! I will definitely stay there again the next time we plan on going to Muskegon!!
