Relaxing and fun, GREAT LOCATION!!
We loved our stay at the beach! Our location was easily accessible to so many things. We (4 sibling couples) spent a lot of time on the deck facing the park across the street and in the side yard visiting with each other and watching the sunsets at Lake Michigan! We also had a hotdog & s'more roast on the beach, walked along the channel and out to the breakwater pier and south channel pier. Jeff was accommodating and helpful with anything we might need with regard to the house and our time in Muskegon. The house is set off from the main beach traffic, yet walkable to the beach. The area is safe and the Muskegon Parks department does a good job of keeping the park and the beach clean! In town we enjoyed seeing the Hackley house, Old Fire Barn and Hackley Library as well as a drive down Jefferson street (between Southern Ave and Laketon) to see the old victorian homes. The farmers Market was nice, the musical fountain in Grand Haven and Mr. Scrib's pizza (the best around!) ended our time on a good note. We had wanted to visit the Milwaukee Clipper but it is only available for tours on Sat & Sun and we looked into it on Monday! The Maritime Museum is within walking distance right down the road. There is plenty more to do, we just enjoyed hanging out and catching up wth each other! One of the siblings from Minnesota took the Lake Express Ferry over from Milwaukee to Muskegon - so convenient. We were able to drop them off at the ferry terminal (2 miles down the road) and get back in plenty of time to wave to them on the ferry by walking to the channel from the house. A great send off! Location is everything and this is a GREAT LOCATION!
Thanks for the great review and kind words! Listening to everything you did and all the different places/things you mentioned, I do believe that you should be employed by the Muskegon Chamber of Commerce and/or Muskegon Visitors bureau! I'm so glad you enjoyed yourself and welcome you back anytime you desire!
Recommended Beach House
Home was clean and inviting. Owner was quick to please and meet our requests. Property is across the street from a nice park with adequate parking for visitors. There's room at the property for 2 vehicles in the garage and 2 in the driveway. Lake Michigan beach, Lighthouses, channel, submarine are all within walking distance. Warmer water and a nice beach on Muskegon Lake are a 5 minute drive away. Definitely recommended!
Thank you for your pleasing comments about my property Marvin. I'm very glad you enjoyed yourself and would love to welcome you back in the future should you be so inclined. You as well as your family were a complete pleasure to accommodate!
Our six adult, three child family stayed here for the Labor Day weekend. We could not have asked for a better location to suit our needs. The house was clean and the owner, Jeff, was extremely accommodating. We would definitely recommend this rental and stay here again.
Thank you Claudia and Terry for your kind words. I'm very happy that you had a good time as that is my wish for everyone that stays at my home. Please come back anytime that you desire. It was a pleasure to meet you and I definitely would be happy to see you again.
Perfect Muskegon Beachfront Rental!
Highly recommend this cottage for a family or group of friends visiting Muskegon! The house is only a block from the water, Pere Marquette Beach Park, and The Deck, a great beach restaurant. It is spacious with big bedrooms, a wonderful deck with a view of the water and great common areas with Wi-Fi and premium TV. Jeff the owner is great - friendly, accommodating and helpful with the house and with things to do around Muskegon. Great rate for our long weekend that blew any of the hotels in the area out of the water. Looking forward to another trip to Muskegon and another stay in this cottage.
Thank you Andrew,
I'm really glad that you enjoyed your stay. My opinion may be biased, but I don't think that there is any better place to vacation in the summertime than the shores of Lake Michigan.
Please come back anytime!
My family and I rent a beach house every year and this one was, by far, one of the best if not the very best. The house offers easy access to the channel, Lake Michigan, The Silversides Museum and other venues in the area and is located directly across from a beautiful park with playground equipment. The views and the deck only enhance the experience. The children in our group were pleased to discover WiFi and cable TV. There was ample room for all of us and our families that were attending a family reunion. The owner is very attentive and makes sure that everything is well stocked. We would definitely stay here again.
Thank you Kevan,
That is so sweet of you to say such nice things about my home and how it was so accommodating for you. I know I may have a bias opinion, but I truly believe that my home as well as the location to the channel, park, and beach, invoke good times that turn into great memories of a vacation well spent!
Please visit me again!
Lake House on Lake Michigan
The location is excellent for a family of nine which included two children. Having a park across the street and easy access to Lake Michigan made the stay perfect. We were having a large family reunion and the house provided enough room to have several of the families from the reunion over to visit individually. The owner provided many items that made the stay easier for all of us: dishwashing liquid, blender, toaster, cleaning supplies, provisions for doing laundry and a large supply of towels. This allowed us to move in without having to buy items that we probably would not completely use up. Restaurants within walking distance. Lake Michigan was not very warm but the area between the lighthouses gave shelter from the wind and a beach where we could swim. We are originally from Muskegon and the property made our return visit a wonderful trip down memory lane.
Thanks Bill for your kind words and I'm pleased that you enjoyed your stay in my home. I grew up in that home and summertime always left me with a lot of fond memories. Please come back whenever you get the notion to relax at my lake house and re-visit your home town! It was my pleasure to accommodate you and your family!
