On the main floor, you will find the kitchen with a counter that seats 6. Marble counters, large trio fridge with ice maker, two sinks, double wall oven, two dishwashers, many small appliances, 5 burner cook top make your entertaining a pleasure. Just outside of the kitchen you will find a gas grill and the pool. Off of the kitchen are two full size bedrooms with a full bathroom. The dining table seats 14 comfortably with easy access to the kitchen via a pass through sideboard with room for many platters of food. And additional table seats 6. The living room is full of comfy chairs, couches and ottomans to put your feet up on as you enjoy the wood burning fireplace. But no matter how comfy the living room is, we dare you to get people out of the sunroom with its rockers and expansive views of the Catskill Mountains.
Enjoy the view and the humming birds that grace us with their presence every year on the wrap around porch. Sit under the covered portion on stormy nights watching the lightning over the mountains!
Upstairs is a sitting room and the entrances to four bedrooms. Up another flight is the the fully-finished attic which can sleep five comfortably in beds. Perfectly suited for children and young adults there is ample room for two additional inflatable beds.
On the patio level a flight from the living room is the office where the WiFi is located. Through the glass doors to the outside is the lawn and another slate patio sitting area. The wood for the fireplace is stored just steps from this door for easy access. On this level you will find the laundry room with industrial size machines. In addition, the television room, a full bathroom, and another queen bedroom. Directly outside of the TV room is the hot tub, which shares the view with the sun room. Stunning on a wintery night, but also lovely in the summer.
The lawn is encircled by the driveway that leads right up to the house and straight around to the garage. This part of the drive can be used for an outside fire pit for campfires and s'mores. If you are up for a short walk in the woods, you can cross the driveway to the west and enter the woods on the path. You will walk past the tree house, through the maples that will soon give way to mountain pines. Continuing on the path you will find the stream that is a watering place for local animals.
Returning home from your biking or hiking you may have worked up a sweat. Take a dip in our salt water pool which is medicinal in many ways and no shower is needed after your swim. Or if it is winter and you are back from along day of skiing, hop in the hot tub, sit back and enjoy the view.
The house is home to our extensive library with books for all ages in every nook and cranny. Toys and games for all are in the attic and sitting room.
The charming town of Tannersville is just a short half mile away where you will find many restaurants. The house was clean, spacious, comfortable, with gorgeous mountain views! Awesome kitchen to hang out and cook in. Great music collection and library. The hot tub and fireplace made it a perfect relaxing getaway for a group of friends. Can't wait to go back!
Our group of 14 had the most delightful weekend at Laurie's home. It was clean, beautifully appointed and the perfect amount of space for our group. We loved gathering in the large kitchen and cooking dinner or fighting over the rocking chairs in the sun room to watch the snow fall. Those that weren't able to snag a rocking chair were able to settle for one of the cozy couches in front of the fire place - or the hot tub! Laurie and property manager, Pat, were both very responsive through the booking process as well as our stay. Overall, could not recommend this property enough!
Stayed at this house for a weekend with a group of 19 friends for skiing and snowboarding. We were pretty excited about the house already just looking at the pictures but when we got there we were blown away. It has everything you would want and more. The beds are comfortable and plenty, every bathroom is clean, comfortable places to sit and lounge throughout the house, kitchen is huge and perfect for cooking for a large group, jacuzzi, fireplace. Everything was great. We all can't wait to come back!
We had a group of 18 adults with a few kids. Wonderful stay. The house had everything we needed and more and Laurei was available and helpful the entire time.
Spectacular grounds secluded from the rest of the area.
Our family of 12 rents a vacation home yearly and this home offered the most amenities we have ever experienced. We love to cook for our family so having two sinks, dish washers and refrigerators made it so easy. The kitchen was really well stocked-spices, dishes, glasses, etc. The large dining room accommodated everyone. The sitting areas were warm and relaxing everywhere inside and outside. Every bed was comfortable. And the view outside helped me understand the inspiration that the Hudson River School created. I looked at the view with the white church steeple and could only think of Frederic Church! Life does not get any better than this. Questions were addressed by Pat and he shared many points of interest including hiking and biking paths. Thanks you Laurie & George for sharing your home with our family.
40th birthday perfection!
We rented this house for my 40th birthday and invited 12 of our closest friends. The house was absolutely perfect! We couldn't have been more comfortable - everyone had their own rooms, plenty of bathrooms and spaces to hang out. The house was extremely well equipped with everything you could ever need - the kitchen was amazing and we used it for every meal. It was a joy to spend the weekend here and we cannot wait to come back! The owners and caretakers were extremely accessible and accommodating. We loved every moment and didn't want to leave!
The nearby Kaaterskill Falls, (3-4 miles)is the second highest waterfall in New York. Second only to Niagara Falls. There are many festivals in the region celebrating, International Music, Folk Music, Rock Music, and Dance Music. There are also many cultural festivals, celebrating, Irish, German, and Polish cultures. In the town itself there are wonderful events in the summertime like the , Wacky Races, where people build there own vehicles and race them down Main Street. Hilarity ensues! There are vintage car shows and recently there was a Rip Van Winkle, who slept a long time on our mountain, Carving Contest and Auction for a local charity.
