The Space:
Situated in the historic, 500-year-old colonial city of Old San Juan, Hidden Oasis serves as the perfect base camp for exploring Old San Juan's rich history, diverse restaurants, unique shops, and vibrant nightlife. This villa features one bedroom, one bathroom, a simple yet modern kitchen, and the best central location. You will appreciate the blend of old-world colonial design with modern conveniences, such as air conditioning throughout the villa, an updated kitchen, Wi-Fi, television, and contemporary decor.
The location is ideal for those wanting to stay close to the action in Old San Juan, located less than two blocks from the bustling nightlife and restaurants of Calle San Sebastián and a short walk from the Spanish fort, El Morro. The villa comfortably accommodates two adults in the bedroom’s queen bed. Additionally, the building includes a coin-operated washer and dryer for your convenience.
LIVING SPACES
Upon entering the villa, you'll be greeted by an open-concept design that encompasses the kitchen, dining, and living area. The high ceilings are an iconic design feature of the colonial architecture that Old San Juan is famous for. The dining area features a simple dining table and is adjacent to the kitchen, which is equipped with a stove, microwave, refrigerator, coffe maker, and all the necessary amenities for an extended stay. The living area includes a comfortable sofa and a flat-screen television. Air conditioning is available throughout the apartment.
SLEEPING ARRANGEMENTS
Hidden Oasis offers one bedroom that comfortably accommodates two adults. The bedroom includes a queen bed, air conditioning, and access to a full bathroom. While the room is small, it is well-appointed to ensure a good night's sleep.
PACK AND PLAY (SUBJECT TO AVAILABILITY): We can leave a complimentary Pack and Play at the property upon request. This should be requested upon booking or no later than 5 days before arrival. Pack and Plays are subject to availability.
KITCHEN
The kitchen at Hidden Oasis is both functional and stylish, featuring new cabinets and quartz countertops. It includes a coffee maker, stove, microwave, refrigerator, and all the essentials to cook your favorite meals. We provide enough coffee, trash bags, and dish soap to comfortably start your stay.
GETTING AROUND
This property DOES NOT include parking. If staying within the general San Juan/Metro area, we recommend moving around via Uber. If you decide to rent a car, there are various paid parking garages around Old San Juan - pricing varies as some charge by the hour and others have a flat rate.
LOCATION
Staying in Old San Juan is a truly unique experience filled with charm and character. From Hidden Oasis, you can comfortably walk anywhere within Old San Juan. The apartment is located in the heart of it all, just steps away from all the action. We recommend taking a cab or Uber from the airport and using Uber while you stay at Old San Juan. Renting a car is not necessary unless you are planning on road-tripping. This is a truly walkable location with everything you need a short walk away. The apartment does not include parking. Nonetheless, there are convenient parking lots close to the apartment.
There are many things to do in the surrounding areas, here are some of our favorites, all within walking distance:
Explore the El Morro Fort. There are daily tours of the fort and the large green areas have spectacular ocean views. Take a tour, have a picnic, and fly a kite. This is a must-do.
Explore the iconic Calle San Sebastian nightlife. There is a large assortment of bars on this strip which is a favorite among locals on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
Breakfast at “La Mallorca”. This is a Puerto Rican landmark well known for its locally inspired breakfast and pastries.
Savor Stuffed Avocado. Healthy and "trendy" spot where you can create your own avocado bowl.
Take a stroll around “Paseo La Princesa”, a waterfront walkway which you can start off at El Morro and finish of the walk with a rum tasting at Princesa Gastrobar at the end of the trail.
AMENITIES
West Indies strives to deliver top-notch service and amenities to guarantee our guests feel at home while visiting our properties. All of our properties are outfitted with freshly laundered bed linens and towels. We provide 2 bath towels per guest and 1 beach/pool towel per guest. Our properties typically include at least 2 beach chairs and an ice cooler.
West Indies provides the disposable amenities necessary to get your vacation off to a comfortable start. These amenities include 1 set of hotel size soaps and shampoos per bathroom, 3 garbage bags, 1 roll of paper towel, 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, 1 dish soap, 1 dish sponge, and a small amount of laundry detergent. We do not provide unlimited disposable amenities. It is your responsibility to review what is included in the property and stock with whatever else may be needed for the duration of your stay.
HOUSE RULES
Check-in time is at 4:00 pm
Check-out time is at 11:00 am
NO SMOKING: Smoking is strictly prohibited. A smoking fee of $500 will be charged if violated.
NO PETS: No pets are allowed at any time. A $300 fine will be charged if violated and you will be expelled from the property.
The host will not pay for a hotel, vacation rental, or transportation expenses incurred because of an interruption in water or electrical service. If water or electricity is interrupted for more than 3 hours, guests have the option of canceling their reservation and requesting a refund for the nights not used. Under no circumstances will we refund consumed nights.
All bookings are contingent on signing a short-term rental agreement that will be sent via email. It must be signed within 48 hours of booking or before entering the property, whichever happens first.
Maximum occupancy of 2 adults/children at all times. This includes visitors.
Max. occupancy is strictly enforced and exceeding it may result in immediate cancellation of booking or being expelled from the property.
Towels and linens must only be used for their intended purpose. Do not stain them with food, grease or any other substance. Do not use towels to clean up any mess. Stained towels/linens will be charged.
Do not hang towels from the balcony or windows. A $100 fine may be applied if you break this rule.
