  • Perfect location

"My husband and I spent the Christmas holidays in Victoria and the Carriage House provided us with the perfect accommodations in a lovely area of James Bay. We did not need to rent a car since we were in short walking distances to downtown, the shoreline, shops and restaurants. The Carriage House itself was the ideal size for two people with everything we needed for a comfortable stay ( very comfortable bed, cosy fireplace etc...). If we needed help or had questions, the owners were close by and ready to assist. We will highly recommend this spot to friends and family. Thank you Maeva and Dave ."

  • A beautiful tranquil place to stay

"My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at the cottage to visit family in Victoria. What beautiful country surroundings making us feel very at home! We loved the wood stove fire to keep the chill off the air, providing wonderful ambiance and we were feeling warm and cozy at nights. We had thermostat heating but nothing beats the warmth of a cozy fire and we slept well. The kitchen was fully equipped with even a blender. There was no cable so we listened to U Tube music videos and watched Netflix. The hosts were very welcoming and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again if we are in the area. Thank you Deb and Dave!"

  • Great location for families !

"We loved it here. The house was spacious, inviting and fully stocked with linens, garbage bags , paper towels etc. We went with 3 children and my mother in law and there was plenty of room. We will be returning next summer for sure. Thanks Piers for a great experience."

  • High end and perfectly situated

"Our group of five (my husband and I and our daughter, her husband and our 5 year old granddaughter) stayed here for a week to celebrate my 70th birthday. We all found the house very comfortable and well outfitted, and the views to the bay were magnificent. One of the main reasons I chose to rent here was the canoe, which didn't disappoint; there are adult life jackets in the basement (bring your own child's though) and a tiny (no trespassing) island to discover. There is a very nice washer and drier in the basement which is essential for a week's stay. We did a lot of cooking together and had a great time with dinners, board games and jigsaw puzzles (in the hall closet) on the giant dining room table. The master has a wonderfully comfortable king size bed and is well separated from the other bedrooms so that we could all escape to our corners for quiet time. All the bedding was extremely nice. The towels were ample and fluffy. I would say it is a perfect house for our size group, especially if the Fall weather forces us to retreat from all the decks, I can see it would be ideal in Summer. The basement is marvelously clean and convenient for laundry and even has a weight room with equipment and a sauna (!) although we didn't partake. I would say that this lovely house might be difficult for the elderly or infirm as it has many bayside steps down from the deck with no handrails. The only disappointmet was that the master has only a tub and no shower, it's cute to be sure, but small; so most people used the 4 foot stall shower with a curtain in the second bathroom. We would have liked to have a hand-held attached to that one. We found the closest big grocery store on Helmcken Rd across from the hospital; that same shopping center has the requisite liquor store. In Victoria, just a 15 minute car ride we found the Bard and Banker pub to be perfect and wonderful fish and chips at the outdoor Red Fish, Blue Fish."
