"We had a wonderful stay at your condo in Victoria. The location could not have been better, everything was within walking distance. Your condo was equipped with everything we could hope for and then some. Kempton was very knowledgeable and helpful in answering all our questions and concerns. We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a place in the downtown core. We even got to watch the Remembrance Day parade from the balcony as it marched north on Douglas St. The included parking space was an added bonus. Access to the highways was easy and convenient. Looking forward to staying there again on our next trip west."

  • late fall escape from Ontario

"My husband and I recently returned from a 3 week stay at the Mermaid Suite. Our objective was to get to know Victoria with the view in mind of a possible longer term stay when we are a little older. Mission accomplished. The best thing about the Mermaid Suite is it's location - close to China Town, easy to walk all over Victoria and very close (maybe a 10 minute walk from the downtown harbour area if one does not stop to shop). We loved the view from the patio window of the upper harbour. The water taxi season had ended for the year, hence the harbour was very quiet. We had been a little concerned about being next door to Canoe Brewpub but in 21 days, this was totally not a problem with the exception of one very early Sat. a.m. minor disturbance out on the boardwalk (which I slept through). The building itself was totally quiet, no noise from any unit. We very rarely saw residents in the hallways etc., and when we did, they were friendly. The common areas of the building are very clean. Jane (concierge) welcomed us at the airport, stopped for a grocery shop for us, and proved to be a tour guide (recommending restaurants and things to do). The king size bed was very comfortable and the condo was comfortable. We felt comfortable in the kitchen to eat in several evenings and settled in nicely with our dinner in the wing chairs in front to the TV. Colleen was extremely helpful in terms of advising us about what to do and how to go about it in Victoria. We rented a car for only one day to travel to Port Renfrew and Chemainus. We also made our way to both Salt Spring Island and to Vancouver by bus and ferry. Overall a great visit."

  • Loved the location

"My husband and I recently spent 6 nights in the 12th floor condo in Astoria Building. The location was fantastic very close to many restaurants and the inner harbour. As mentioned by others this is a very secure place and lovely grounds; we used the parkade for a few days but did not need a car the whole time because of close walking distance to sites. We liked the idea of breakfasts and lunches in the condo and mostly went out for dinner as there are so many great eating places. Also enjoyed the balcony for sipping wine and enjoying the views. Bartholemew's British pub next door had good food and we attended one evening to hear a band playing classic rock tunes, nice to have live entertainment nearby. Others we liked were Nautical Nellie's, Red Fish, Blue Fish and Catalona. Janet, our host met us as planned and was very thorough ensuring we had a good tour of the premises. Would love to stay here again sometime in the future."

  • Perfect for a Couple's Getaway

"We truly enjoyed our long weekend away in Victoria in this adorable loft in its fabulous, central location. We experienced professional check in and check out. The bed was comfortable and the apartment immaculate. The building has an amazing rooftop deck that you should definitely check out at sunset and for morning tea. We do recommend guests bring earplugs, especially for a weekend stay. It's lovely to sleep with the windows open, but the bar scene is within earshot. We appreciated the complimentary parking pass, the central location, the great view and the totally comfortable stay. Victoria is definitely a city with something for everyone, and this loft was a great home base!"
