  • Real Florida

"Eve's Hideaway was the perfect place for us. The house was amazingly comfortable...like coming to my own home. The two of us had more space to spread out than we could use and plenty of privacy. The house is nested in the maritime hammock (so cool), and it feels like a piece of Florida that is seldom found anymore. The location is perfect because you can be in the busy heart of St. Augustine or the quietude of GTM Research Reserve in 10 minutes. If you are will to take a 15 minute drive, you can go north to the beach access points in the GTM Reserve to explore the coquina sand beach. Go to the second access if you do - there is no development to mar the view in any direction. If you like to eat, St. Augustine and Vilano Beach have plenty of options - we liked the Floridian and the Hyppo for paletas/ice pops. Stop by the St. Augustine Distillery for a free tour, too. We would definitely come back again. This is such a good place to chill out."

  • Good Location and Stay, great Propery Management

"We stayed at the sister unit of this location, which is Secret Retreat One for all of April. Not sure if that one is still available, but my review is centered more about Michael and Anne and less about the unit, so still applies to this unit. Anne makes sure everything you need is ready for you upon arrival and the place was very clean, which is something that they both take a great deal of pride to ensure. Anne was always very helpful with some minor issues, like getting the windows to open and getting a replacement screen for the one window. Their dedication really showed when the dryer failed during our stay. Anne worked with the owner to get a new one replaced in days and during that time, Anne helped dry one of our loads, as it died just in the middle of our last load. The location is very convenient to the beach, just a few minutes walk in a quiet neighborhood, then over the main road. Again, i expect Secret retreat Two to be as nice as our unit, just knowing that Anne and Michael strive to make your stay great."

  • Outstanding Value

"We enjoyed our stay last year so much we came back this year for two weeks. Location is perfect, with groceries and restaurants close by. The layout of the condo is very comfortable and it's packed with everything you need for a convenient stay, including all appliances, accessories, basic supplies, etc. Very convenient to downtown St. Augustine, but out of the rush. We were treated to spectacular sunrises almost every morning. Would recommend this rental to anyone, for sure."

  • Pleasant Beach House

"We are just finishing up a very pleasant stay at Treasure Chest. We used to live inland near here and come back to see friends and enjoy the beach. This cozy cottage worked very well for entertaining a few friends in casual beach style. The gas grill came in very handy, as did the parking. The kitchen is small but cute and very well stocked. No ice maker but I prefer to buy ice since the water is, uh, Florida water. The umbrella on the deck provided nice shade. The property manager was very responsive to a couple of minor issues. The deck table and chairs are getting a bit rusty (put a towel on your chair) and the deck wood itself is splintering and will need replacement soon. I would not recommend this cottage for small children until that project is done. But it was fine with teens and adults. We wore our flip flops or walked carefully to avoid a cut or splinter. The yard is fenced if you close the gates across the driveway. Also, we were able to use plastic deck chairs to block off part of the deck to allow our terrier to keep us company on the deck. (I wasn't comfortable leaving her unsupervised down below, but that due to her nature, not the property.) Most interior doors don't lock (which bothered my teen when he wanted to change or shower). The view is lovely and the beach uncrowded. The cottage is walking distance or easy drive to Publix and restaurants. I love the location."
