  • Fabulous Sunset, Good Location, Lovely Home.

"We've been to St. Augustine many times, so we knew this would be a perfect location for us. It's on International waters, a few blocks from Vilano Beach and a short distance to Downtown. The neighborhood is pleasant and quiet; the listing is an accurate description. The main attraction for me was the sunset, could not have asked for a better location! This rental has a private dock that you can walk out to, and at the end of the dock is a picnic table. In the morning I carried my breakfast down to the dock, watched the boats and enjoyed the view. Every night I'd walk down to see the sunset, and I was never disappointed. Wow! What a show! The house is clean and well maintained. The interior colors and decorating are in a pretty coastal style. It's a one floor home so it's an easy access to all rooms. The bedrooms are nice and beds are comfortable, the bamboo bedding is a nice touch! There is also a TV in each bedroom. The living room and kitchen area is a nice size. The patio is off the kitchen area. There is a gas grill on the patio and we used that several times for dinner, which we ate out on the patio. The breeze from the water made it quite bearable to be outside. *I especially appreciated the laundry room! Lots of linens, beach towels, decent appliances, and nice furniture. Two tandem kayaks are near the dock for use on the Tolomato (the waterway at the property). There are bikes in the garage. There are so many restaurants to choose from, a few of our favorites are Cap's on the Water, Kingfish Grill and The Floridian. I have to eat gluten free and these restaurants were a few that had great selections! Enjoyed all the fresh local seafood! There is a Publix close by for groceries. Downtown Historic St. Augustine has plenty of history, shops, art galleries and attractions. This time we ventured out a bit to World Golf Village and the Outlets. Fun day! Anastasia State Park is a fantastic place to spend the day biking, kayaking, walking, and swimming. The owners Melinda and Art are very nice and live next door. They are readily available if you need anything. Other than that you will never see them, because as Melinda said to us "this is your house" and they treat exactly that way. I would definitely recommend this location to family and friends. This was our first experience with VRBO and it was a good experience. -Lenore and Steven Corey"

  • Our Perfect Escape - Again & Again

"We've stayed here four times in the past five years and we love it more each time! The house is super cozy. The yard is completely private and its only a two minute walk to the beach. Jackie is very easy to work with and very accommodating. Within easy walking distance of Publix and many other restaurants and shops, and yet still secluded from the hustle and bustle - thanks to the high privacy fence. The decor is charming - both inside and out. Touches of art deco highlight the interior while the yard is beachy themed with many geckos for entertainment. We drive all the way from Wisconsin and each time it's like stepping back in time and all the tensions (and Northern chills) just slip away. We feel like its our home away from home."

  • Pleasant Beach House

"We are just finishing up a very pleasant stay at Treasure Chest. We used to live inland near here and come back to see friends and enjoy the beach. This cozy cottage worked very well for entertaining a few friends in casual beach style. The gas grill came in very handy, as did the parking. The kitchen is small but cute and very well stocked. No ice maker but I prefer to buy ice since the water is, uh, Florida water. The umbrella on the deck provided nice shade. The property manager was very responsive to a couple of minor issues. The deck table and chairs are getting a bit rusty (put a towel on your chair) and the deck wood itself is splintering and will need replacement soon. I would not recommend this cottage for small children until that project is done. But it was fine with teens and adults. We wore our flip flops or walked carefully to avoid a cut or splinter. The yard is fenced if you close the gates across the driveway. Also, we were able to use plastic deck chairs to block off part of the deck to allow our terrier to keep us company on the deck. (I wasn't comfortable leaving her unsupervised down below, but that due to her nature, not the property.) Most interior doors don't lock (which bothered my teen when he wanted to change or shower). The view is lovely and the beach uncrowded. The cottage is walking distance or easy drive to Publix and restaurants. I love the location."
