Private Homes house description
This is a great house for a couple's get-away or girls' weekend. It is quiet and peaceful and has lots of character. Great deck looks out over fields to the north, dunes to the east, and Corpus Christi Ship Channel and back waters of Mustang Island to the west. No neighbors unless it's a busy holiday weekend. House is on stilts. Living area is upstairs with breezy area underneath w/ picnic table, chairs, hammock and charcoal cooker. Park under house in shade.
Front door opens to the deck. Leave it open in the cool of the morning to welcome your day at the beach. Enjoy the 3rd level deck, accessed by a ladder from the 2nd level deck; good for early morning sunrise yoga or night-time star-gazing. House is about 1 mile from the grocery and restaurants in 'Old Town', a short bike ride away, and is also on the shuttle route that comes by hourly til 6pm.
Address is 603 Parkplace, near the end of 11th St., one block from Beach Access Rd IA. It is a 10 minute walk to the beach, to end of cul-de-sac, to the board walkway over some of the highest dunes on the island, no crossing of any streets...The beach at the end of the boardwalk has parking posts for cars so you can walk and sit near the water without car traffic next to you, It is about a 3 mile walk/run to the jetty, one way.
This is not a typical rental as owner lives here part-time so it feels like a cozy place. No plastic paintings screwed to the wall here! Port Aransas is small enough to get around on a bike, has great restaurants, mid$$ to high$$ and a great fresh fish market. The beach is natural... occasional sargassum seaweed is well managed by the city beach crews. Beach is accessible by car and by foot and there is great fishing, by charter or by private captain. World-wide attraction spot for birding and an occasional spotting of alligator at one look out point and be sure to check out Charley's Pasture Nature Preserve for birding and bike ride. City pool and skate park and University of Texas Marine Science Center wetlands tour are good for children
King bed, (firm futon wth tempuredic foam topper), in master bedroom. Firm, queen-size bed in 2nd bedroom. Bed and bath linens provided. Bring towels for the beach and pets. Guests must bring body soaps and hair products, hand and dish soap furnished.
This island home may not be suitable for certain age children, (there are stairs and small things!), but owner is negotiable. Pets are OK, only if they are considered part of the family, (not allowed on the furniture or wet in the house or on carpet in Master BR!). Yard is not fully fenced, child gate at stairs keeps them on the deck.

Fantastic Beach House
Fantastic Beach House
Eliza's is a great place to stay in Port A! We timed it and it takes 2 minutes to drive to the beach! This house is not your typical rental. Eliza has many personal touches and photos that she displays. This makes the house feel like a home. It's great that the house is so close to the convenience store which comes in handy for last minute supplies. We'd definitely stay again! It was so nice to be able to bring our dog who is a very important member of our family.

"Love it. Being an old hippie in the finest context of the word...your home touches my soul. We're very comfortable here. Sat on the beach to watch the evening come. Sat on the deck til 3am to watch the night grow old. Smilin' here." Thanks for sharing Eliza!

Owner response: Awesome, what a great review. I feel the same, love it too. Glad you enjoy...come back!
My husband and I had a fantastic time. The house is darling...it's been redecorated a bit since these photos were taken and it's even cuter. I'm an interior designer, so I can be a little picky. The house is very well set up. Two couples would be very comfortable here. With just the two of us, I used the master bath and he camped out in the guest bath. The location is perfect. We rented a golf cart and zipped down either Eleventh street or the beach road into town. There is a Stripes convenience store just a block away, as well as a beach supply store. Eliza, the homeowner is a dream to work with. If we weren't moving to Port Aransas in July, I'd want to rent this home over and over again!

Owner response: Wow, I am flattered that an interior designer gave the "decor"such good ratings! I love it...Lots of people do! thanks for the kudos. Eliza
My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay in Eliza's Beach House. It was relaxing and very peaceful. It is not very far from the beach (10 minute walk or 2 minutes on a beach buggie). Whenever we decide to go back to Port A, Eliza's will probably be the place I will stay again.

Peace and Serenity abound here!
Elisha was so hospitable and accommodating!! She allowed me to bring my precious pups and sister. Everywhere in the house abounds with her creativity, serenity and peace. It is so conveniently located to the boardwalk and beach. I loved staying there and hope to return often for a touch of serenity and rest.

Owner response: Told ya! I knew it'd be what you needed for your retreat. It does that for me and countless guests...even with the occasional higher-than-normal-mph wind days,...which is part of the experience here,...nature and her elements, always changing, raw and pure...re-kindling our connection to her!
Relaxing space for 3 adults. Very clean. All the comforts of home. Lots of personality in this space and the photos do a good job of showing it. Would stay there again.

This was a perfect home to relax for the first weekend of summer break. Our two daughters and their two dogs (along with my husband and I) loved it. Eliza's home is just perfect. We loved all the outdoor spaces to enjoy being close to the beach. I loved all of Eliza's creative touches. Highly recomend this wonderful and relaxing getaway.

About the owner: I started renting my house part-time as I had another house in Corpus Christi that I worked out of 4 days of the week. Instead of driving back and forth daily, I decided to share it with others since it is such a calming peaceful place. I do stay in it around guest schedule so can maintain it and keep a watchful eye on details. It is a very calming place to be, quiet and clean. You don't even have to cook, Shell's provides to-go food, just bring the coffee beans and your favorite books...Enjoy!
Why the Owner Chose Private Homes:
Clean! Comfortable, Cozy, Charming, Quiet, Eclectically furnished. Away from crowds. Not in neighborhood, Deck looks out over fields, not into next door garden. Nice part of the beach (Mile Marker 16)
The Unique Benefits at this House:
I LOVE the sound of the surf from the house and walking to the beach over the boardwalk where the parking posts are so no cars can drive down by the water...a perfect tranquil spot for sunset or morning yoga. I LOVE riding the bike on the beach. I LOVE going to anyhwere in town and chatting and smiling with the life found there. I LOVE buying fresh tuna at the seafood place for sashimi or the grill. I LOVE my vacation rental guests because they are so appreciative of their stay at the house, for the tranquility and peace they experience and take home with them.
