We had a wonderful stay at the Boathouse for a winter getaway in early December! We awoke to incredible views and had the good fortune to experience the ice formation on the lake. The car port was perfect allowing us to drive right to the entrance. The private bedrooms and private baths are exceptional and the common area is adequate for large groups. The accommodations are nicely furnished and comfortable which creates a very relaxing atmosphere. The kitchen is well equipped to prepare any type of meal. The owner has installed a security gate at the entrance of the driveway. This is a great feature that adds to the privacy and solitude of this property. We highly recommend the Boathouse to those visiting Lake Vermilion at any time of the year!

This was our first time to stay at this beautiful location. The Bunkhouse was perfect for the kids to stay in. They had their space and could get loud, but we were close by if needed. There is plenty of room outside for the kids to run or play catch. The common area of the house is spacious, but if you need some time by yourself you simply slip off to your room and enjoy the view! Each room has a bath, some with a TV, fridge and fireplace. The house is stocked with everything you need and the kitchen is outstanding. The sauna was especially nice as there was a chill in the air. There is plenty of deck / dock space and the fire pit with built in bench was perfect for enjoying a fire. Tony is very familiar with the area and was able to offer us several places to go for dinner, and even helped us with directions. The wildlife is plentiful, we saw many deer, grouse and eagles. We can't wait to come back!

I have been going to the Boathouse with a group of 11 friends for the last four summers and we will be staying there again in 2012. There are many wonderful things about this vacation home that keep us coming back - here are just a few of them. First, Lake Vermillion is a very special location, on the edge of the boundary waters, it has pristine waters, many families of nesting eagles, and just the right balance of quiet and activity. There are a canoe, two solo kayaks, and a wonderful pontoon boat (seats the whole group) included with the property rental. We spend much of our time on the water, laying out on the boat deck with a beverage, swimming, and boating. The kitchen is great for preparing large meals, equipped with everything you will need if you love to cook. We have enjoyed many great meals on the deck off the living room, which easily accommodates the whole group, and overlooks the property and the lake. There is a large bbq grill as well. If you prefer to go out to eat there are a couple of cute restaurants close by with deck seating on the lake. The house has a great room large enough for our group to sit together and play poker (at the poker table) or watch a movie. There is also plenty of space on the property to get away on your own. The bedrooms are comfortable and warm, each with its own bathroom. The owner, Tony, knows the area well and is committed to making sure your group has a great time. I would recommend the Boathouse to any family or group looking to enjoy the best fun and relaxation that Northern Minnesota has to offer.

We just returned from a one week stay at the Boathouse Inn. Had a group of 16 and never felt crowded. Each suite has its own bathroom and a lovely view of the lake or the woods. The Bunkhouse was perfect for the kids. The common areas were large enough for all of us to gather, both inside and out on the deck overlooking the lake. The dock area is spacious too. The pontoon boat Tony rented us was a fisherman’s dream. Everything was great including the towels and bed linens. I wouldn’t hesitate to return, even with a smaller group. Thanks

I recently stay at the boat house and the most memorable thing for me was waking up to the stunning veiw of lake vermillion from my bedroom. The views are amazing from most of the house. The antique boat situated in the main living area was definately something very unique and you can go inside of it and check it out. There was plenty of patio area and a place for a camp fire facing the lake. The walkway down to the lake has amazing moss covered rocks and the dock area at the water is very spacious. It was a very short drive to Cook where I found everything I needed and "The Landing" is litterally just down the road a couple minutes and was a great place to go for food or drinks and the people were very friendly. I am certainly looking forward to my next stay. Thankyou for a wonderful vacation!
